What a beautiful song. My beautiful Mexican girlfriend used to sing this song to me so beautifully. Her father forced her to marry a Mexican guy. There was nothing I could do, short of asking her to abandon her parents. And I never saw her again. After all these years this song still moves me deeply for she sang this song to me one last time, the last time we saw each other.

Update: I wrote this comment 5 years ago. Just to inform you guys: I went to andrea bocelli concert just yesterday (june 2022) 2 meters away from him and had wine...except not with my love, but with a friend😂😂...so my dream got partially acheived. 안드레아 보첼리 음색이며 깊이며..아..노래 너무 좋네요~ 가볍고 쉽게 부르는 것 같지만 성악적인 깊고 긴 발성이 이 노래에서도 빛을 발하네요 우리 호중별님도 안드레아 보첼리처럼 세계적인 가수로 머리 희끗해서도 저렇게 멋있는 무대 하실거라 생각합니다. 그때도 그 무대 객석에 제가 있는 모습을 상상해 봅니다 ㅎ 호중님 화이팅!

You should learn Spanish, just to listen, sing AND understand this beaitiful song. In my personal opinión there's no tranlsation that can translate exactly what Consuelito Velazquez meant whem she wrote It at the age of 16, when she hasn't been misses yet. As mexican I feel realy proud of this song AND I hey ito tears everytime I hear It, no matter the language.

What a performance! What an accompaniment! Just can`t get enough of it. How many singers have been singing this beautiful song since the time it appeared. But Andrea`s performance is the masterpiece! How is that ever possible to convey all the love and pain, happiness and disappointment, which are expressed through such seemingly simply musical and verbal forms, by the voice. The confident, enchanting voice that permeates the soul and hits the very heart and makes one`s eyes swell. My eyes swell every time I listen to this piece. Splendid! Excellent! Marvelous! I dream of visiting such a concert, but it`s never going to happen in my life now. From Russia. Love!
