OH MY GOD I MEANT SOUTH EAST LONDON, what a gaffe.
Today we're in Rotherhithe exploring Marc and Isambard Kingdom Brunel's tunnel, the Mayflower, the old school and secret jail of Rotherhithe village, the ships, the boats and the sloops of this maritime sort-of-peninsula in south east London.
There's so much I could have mentioned that I'll try and get to next time, I really do intend to make Exploring Canada Water as soon as possible. The only thing it occurs to me I've missed out is why it's interchangeably called Redriff up until maybe the mid-1900s, good luck with that.

Of all the London history channels, I enjoy this one the most. The videos are entertaining, informative and amusing. Because Andrew doesn't churn stuff out, each video that he makes for us is a rare treat..

Rotherhithe Street is reputed to be the longest Street, not the longest Road! The clue’s in the name 🤷‍♂️

Dr.Salter's Daydream artwork has just brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for a lovely walk and great mix of info and humour and may I also add, thank you for speaking quite SLOWLY ; so many youtoobers gabble and it's not easy to listen to. I know it's a lot of work putting together these videos but like the previous commenter, I also enjoy this channel the most. Andrew seems like someone with whom I would enjoy sitting in a pub with a good English beer and chatting. Alas, New Mexico and London not being in proximity that's not going to happen I'm afraid. But keep 'em coming...they are the best.

0:38 - Rotherhithe is in the South WEST quadrant?! Is that just to see who is paying attention? Of course it's in the South EAST (hence SE16 postcode). EDIT - now see you've put a correction in the description :-).

If you're going to tell the Mayflower story try telling it all not only did they stop at Southampton but once the Mayflower and the Speedwell actually set sail the Speedwell leaked so much they both returned to Dartmouth and eventually the Mayflower set sail alone from Plymouth.
