Barbican needs its roof back :( Was destroyed in WW2 as I understand, as well as pretty much everything else in the area.. I think its sad it has never been replaced in any way, a good roof on a train station is often its best architectural feature, and makes the whole waiting experience much nicer, especially in the rain.

We used to live in Macaulay road, three families in one Victorian house was normal, and shared one bathroom. We couldn't afford it now.

Bang on right Kentish town is no zoo. So one isn't going to find any wild life there.

Very interesting although you failed to find the Black Friar pub which is very historic and ornate inside.

Its not a river, its a sewer. It conveys raw sewage and rain water and it is intercepted 3 times therefore the water doesnt run from the top to the thames. only a trickle of water actually comes from Hampstead Heath and it has been diverted as well. The fleet sewer and the flood relief enter the Thames only when the sewer overflows mostly when it rains, if you see the fleet discharging into the Thames, it is a bad thing. Thats the reason you dont see the fleet constantly discharging. The thames tideway sewer will fix this problem and you will rarely see the fleet going into the Thames

You had me up until the vile lie about "ethnic cleansing." Over 99% of the native population that died from interaction with the colonists died from disease. "The evil Americans killed the lovely wee indigenous blah blah blah," is a huge pack of lies! Now cry yourself to sleep because England had colonies. Oh the guilt.

1st off I know these vlogs are a few years old and I’m really enjoying them. Mate you are seriously funny, talented and produce amazing vlogs. I don’t understand why you haven’t attained more views, your content is brilliant. “Bloody thatcher 😂” I hope you see this message, I will be back in London very shortly and I have taken so much more from your content than many other KZfaqrs with higher subscribers, I don’t get it.

Hi Andrew. I regularly visit London from Australia, and love it. Sadly though I have only just found your VLOGS. I love the way you present them, your research, humour and presentation style are so engaging. I note you haven’t VLOG’d for a while, I trust your well, but I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into each one. I thought the line in this VLOG “but handsome stranger”, was so funny :-). Now I’ll have to binge watch them all.

Greenwich is lovely to visit by boat up the Thames, it's like stepping back to Victorian times with the Cutty Sark, and Maritime Museum. There's also people selling pieces of clay pipes and old coins, which are washed up on the shore. If you walk on the small beaches, remember the Thames is tidal, so can rise by ten feet.

Great video - the first I've seen of yours, and I'll watch more. I'm doing a self-guided tour through London via Google Streetview, and I started in Southwark. When I came to Canada Water, being Canadian, I felt some delight in learning about it and noticing all the streets named with Canadian location names. Your video really added to my understanding of the place. I was particularly delighted because while I was in Russia Dock Woodland I was so mystified by seeing what I could only consider a dock, next to a field. My guess that was it had silted in or something, but to learn that it was intentionally filled in was interesting! As I make my way through my tour, I'll definitely refer to your videos!

Great video. There must be a link though with Thorney Island, the military base down on the South coast near where I live. Also nearby Bosham is one of the places King Canute is said to have unsuccessfully commanded the waves. His daughter is i believe buried at Bosham church. Can't believe no one has mentioned this!
