I remember him just starting out with just 2 buckets, and one of them he sat on. There were times that he didn't even had a bucket, he would just make music out of everything around him on the subway platform, the garbage can, the metal signs, etc.

Once played a gig on a tiny stage with an even tinier drum stage/riser. Had my tom toms on a stand with one or two cymbals attached to it as well. In the middle of one song the whole stand fell off the drum stage and started tipping backwards so I had to take a dive over the drums to save it from crashing to the ground. The rest of the gig a friend of mine was forced to sit on the edge in front of the tom stand to keep it from falling again haha.

WOW!! I saw him b4 Great rhythm, timing and idealistic ideas he has. As to drums moving. Had a bassist that was plastered fell into the kit and he was caught in it. It was perfect for the time being. lolz. Thanks for sharing.

We used to have alot of bucket drummers here in DC, ecspecially when the gogo scene was huge. Still see them around making some tips here & there

As far as him doing that drum routine, it wasn't mindbogglingly technical since it was pretty much 16th notes in a straight 4-beat which is just fine. What makes it really good/fun is the creativity of using buckets (and lifting the "bass drum" with his foot) and being entertaining with his stick gymnastics without dropping the stick even once on a street somewhere in a city.

From Bristol, U.K. When we were allowed out, seeing guys like this playing in the town centre was very common on a Saturday or Sunday. A few really good players around Temple Meads Station too. Its a very musically diverse city, and I love living here!

I'm from Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom. My town is like a graveyard...shops closed, litter everywhere...people look ill and depressed...all very scared of each other!! I've been unemployed all year...can't find a job anywhere close to home...on government benefits...feel like I'm surplus to requirement!! Never lived through such a tough time...but your videos help a bit!! :) How's New Zealand looking these days??

Wow... good critique, man. He was getting like 6 different sounds from that one bucket alone. I am surprised he didn't have an Aluminum turkey pan for a metal thud sound, like a dull symbol or something. It was really good, and it is certain that he is a real drummer too, but I agree that he was doing standard stuff, but one can only do a limited set of things with that 'kit'. What was that at the end? 64ths?

I've wanted to learn the drums for a really long time... Due to neighbors , an acoustic kit is sort of out of the question for home... And also - space is even a bit of an issue for an electric kit... But I think it could work somehow. Do you have any advice? For example, should I just go to have a drum lesson without even a plan of getting a kit just to see how it goes? How essential do you think it is early on in the journey to have a kit to practice on at home between weekly lessons ? Thanks, appreciate any feedback!

The critique of basic performance. When I look at street performs I give them the Bruce Lee grade. Am I impressed with a Performer who knows 100 routines or a Performer that has done 1 routine 100 times. What he's drumming is the kind of drumming I did in the back classes. Or when I'm bored. But it's the spectacle.

North East of England, about 12 miles north of Newcastle. Tbh, it's not been a horrific change for me. I'm disabled and only usually get out once a week anyway. Been outside 5 times since March and all to the hospital.

Andrew, did you ever watch any of the videos of the Japanese girl Yoyoka playing drum covers? She's an amazing talent and watching her play Led Zeppelins "Good Times Bad Times" when she's 8 is mind-blowing. She's done many videos that are just a joy to watch. I am pretty sure I saw this guy when I was in New York maybe 2013? I was there with my brother and my mum and I heard a beat like this very distinctly in the distance. Either he has copy cats or he went to new york and played the same thing. Either way it is insanely impressive.

Here in New York City I see quite a few bucket drummers. Some are just awful, but money tins fill despite. Keep the hands and feet moving quickly and the tourists lap it up.

Anyone know what happened to Gordo's youtube channel? (kzfaq.info)? It seems youtube just "disappeared" it, no indication that it ever even existed, nor why it was deleted. Which is bad enough for the creator, and absolutely rude and an inexcusable thing to do to all of yt's users: Tell us it was removed, and preferably why it was removed. Reminds me of the kind of move a dictator would do to someone that got on his bad side... Come to think of it...

Hacked by people claiming to be the company responsible for the currency XRP (I think that’s the name). He is trying to get it back. They started by deleting his content, replacing it with their live stream. Then, once the stream was over, they deleted the channel.

@@crashlandon7957 It seems situations like this happen pretty often, and I think KZfaq needs to come up with a better way of handling them that is fair to both the creator and his subscribers. How does a re-instated KZfaqr even let his (former) subs know he's back on-line? Seems to me like that's a critical element of restoring a creator's channel. (And I'm thinking there may be a Reddit sub for discussions exactly like this one is turning out to be.)

I know... you do drums. But this 'reaction' here was to street music, and so I thought you would enjoy checking this Russian girl out. She is a primo musician. I hope you are familiar with The Mandalorian. She did this piece inside, but most of her videos are of her and street musicians, ALSO very good works. @@AndrewRooneyDrums Another one I am sure you have already heard of and seen works from is a cover band from Spain that does each song in a different costume set. 4 girls and a three piece of all dudes, and some amazing covers are done. Quite a few actually. They are called "Broken Peach". If you have never seen them, you will love it. Good drummer there too... Versatile.
