Grealish got injured again playing in the FA Cup against Luton Town after 38 minutes. I don't think he had fully recovered from his injury playing in the Champions League against FC Copenhagen a few weeks ago. However he has been put under enormous pressure to play football at full speed.

It’s become mandatory for goalkeepers to be decent with their feet. I think the next evolution will be for all wingers to be genuinely two footed especially if they have average pace like Grealish and Antony . Cut inside is not good enough anymore

Hmm, I wonder why Grealish isn't perhaps playing as much as last season or getting a run of games. If there only there were informed people in football that may be able to comment on that instead of regurgitating the same talking points. This just in...I have a secret source that is telling me Grealish has had multiple injuries and pretty bad illness this season! That's insane, that really does give us context and reasoning behind this. Wow, almost as if these "pundits" don't actually pay attention to anything, react to the most recent headline and just say stuff to fit a narrative.

Pep didn't really criticise Grealish , he basically just said he needs to be fit and in form right away because that is what the team needs. He isn't saying that is why he isn't being picked since the reason he hasn't recently has literally been he's been injured. He wants him to come back fully fit and firing, that's it. They have again taken a manager's comments and turned it into something it wasn't.

As a Villa Fan I`m wondering if we do qualify for Champions League football next season we try to bring back Jack to Villa at least on a season long Loan. I`m sure the prospect of playing Champions League football for his boyhood team would interest him. A front 3 of Grealish, Watkins and Bailey sounds quite tasty.

I don't see villa needing nor fitting grealish anymore, we play a passing, controlled and patient style of football now, not the helter skelter football of give it to jack and just run at them. Plus I don't think villa should prostitute themselves for grealish, if we achieve champions League football we did it without him, he wanted to help villa get into Europe then left 2 months later, he doesn't get to walk back in the door and enjoy the best time we have seen on everyone else's hard work after having to adapt when he left.

Feel bad for Grealish but when you drink as heavy as he does when he’s off season then you have to understand the long term affects when you get older as a human! Reason why professionals like Ronaldo, Modric etc have such long careers with no injuries! Body is a temple not a part time hotel.

He was bought for PR purposes because to just hold width and pass backwards ...that can be done by any academy player.... Robertson looks better in the final 3rd than Grealish and Robbo is a fullback....I was so happy to see Doku expose that fraud Grealish.

@@Rodney231 Doku hasn't had a good game for like 4 months his entire hype is based off 1 game vs Bournemouth, loses the ball way too much in big games, which is why 90% of City fans would always start Grealish ahead of him when it matters, hell most would probably start Oscar Bobb instead of Doku.

@@TJTOPBOYI just don’t think that’s true. Yes, he’s asked to hold width but pep came out in an interview and said he expects goals and assists from jack. He rarely makes the late run into the box, he’s not a goal oriented player. Pep definitely wants him to dribble past his opponent but he can’t dribble from a standing start because he’s not explosive. He has to already be running with the ball in order to dribble people. I just think he’s not fully suited to a wide position under pep. Look how many goals raheem scored for pep by darting into the box late. Raheem was averaging about 20 goals in all comps under pep.

A bit unfair to Jack. Doku came in and didn't have to change his style of pay. Pep made Jack change his style. So Jack is probably annoyed that he had to change his style and Doku hasn't. Pep will always support his players when they are training well and a positive attitude, BUT if you drop below the level Pep knows and the player knows you’re out of the team. Great manager, and if you see the hunger of the city team year after year winning and competing at the highest level you will see Pep has the respect of the whole team.

Grealish was never a fit for City, Pep wants system players and Jack played off the cuff at Villa. You can see how different he is now and seems to either have lost or been told not to try to go past players anymore how often does he go down the left and the pass is back to a fullback or midfielder.

If people actually consistently watch Grealish and are actually being objective, he’s entirely predictable and possibly even more predictable than Antony. Not joking either. Grealish literally always cuts inside onto his right foot and passes the ball either sideways or backwards. The only other thing he does is draw the odd foul. That’s it. Otherwise, he never actually takes a player on, never shoots, and never makes decisive passes. He’s good at keeping possession and works hard defensively. But he’s not even close to being a 100 million player. The only real difference between Grealish and Antony at this point is Grealish plays in an extreme possession side where he can at least play a role in circulating the ball around. Antony plays in an open space, end to end counterattack system that does not suit him.

He broke a champions league record last season. He created more goal scoring chances in a campaign than any other English player ever…beating players like Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes & Gerrard. I know it’s a bit of a weird record, but it does kind of disprove your theory of only passing sideway and backwards
