It's awfully convenient how the only good game Bam had in the ECF was when Williams was too hurt to play. As a Celtics fan, I'm excited to see Robert continue to grow. If he can just stay healthy, he'll be a multiple time all star. It says a lot how impactful he was even when hobbled.

I'm a Heat fan, so I was pissed obviously that they lost, but 100% in my mind Bam would not have had that type of game with Williams playing. He didn't do anything all series otherwise, in large part because of Williams' presence. I didn't really pay attention or follow so I didn't really know much about Williams, but damn, that dude is a scary presence out there. It's crazy the shots he can get to and block and affect. I agree completely, watching a real lock down defender like Butler, Leonard, is just beautiful. I think that's a part of the game that the very casual fan may miss all the technique and footwork and athleticism it takes to do what they do. Then you have someone like MR. Williams here who is both an interior disruptor and amazing rim protector, awesome.

Also, you didnt mention it but having Horford as a methor i guess would help him to reach a higher level as a defender. Overall Williams could read very well the plays, let's see how far he could develope, specially as a offensive player.

I think smart has a bigger effect on Williams great stats than you realize. Smarts switching, and telling his teammates to switch allowed Williams to stay near the rim way more than most bigs get to. Yeah, all defensive leaders do this, but no one does it like smart. If it wasn't for smart, I think Williams would have gotten exposed more, and he would have had to leve the rim open a lot more.
