I saw Angela in the revival of Mame in in '83! She was fantastic and blew me away, especially in Act 2 when she started dancing!

I was lucky enough to see Lansbury in a revival of Mame on B'way in 1983. She was FANTASTIC!!! She could kick her legs up just as high as the younger cast members. I've never cared much for Channing other than her bit in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Hollywood is FULL of a lot of JERKS! The REAL TALENT in on Broadway! You can't call "Cut" in front of a LIVE audience!

Dear, Angela Landsbury is now 95. and Caroll Shanning is deat. Sorry. At that time they were already old. And if you had as much intelligence as you pretend, you would have understood that I meant that kindly. I love the joie de vivre of the charming Angela Lansbury. And I love the radiant smile of Angela Channing. And I like the humor of both of them.

@@kapi4658 We know what you meant Ka Pi. You made a very nice comment. Especially the part about Angela's Love for Life. I knew Carol Channing personally, and she most definitely had a love for life as well. What you said was spot on. Carol was an extremely kind and gracious person, regardless of the mishaps of other people. She handled herself with such poise and class. That's just truly how she was in real life. Which is how you chose to give your second response just now even though you were attacked when only trying to say something nice. Carol literally would have been proud of you for how you responded. She would have reached over and given you a little squeeze and a wink and said something like "THAT'S the way to do it!" Always gracious, and always encouraging.

My sister and I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Channing when a touring production visited Toronto in the early 90's. The show-stopping number had the audience members on their feet for at least a good 5 minutes at the end. She looked at the rest of the cast as if to say, "What now?!" and they encouraged her to revel in the moment. She was SO happy. It was unforgettable!! ❤❤

Got to see Carol Channing twice. 1st time was in Lorelie in Chicago about 1972 and then Hello Dolly in Milwaukee a few years later. Simply amazing.

Those were not "young" dancers, neither in this TV show njor on the Broadway stage. They were middle-aged -- but terrific -- dancers, so the leading ladies wouldn't look like Tutankarman next to them. Stars ain't stupid.

I wonder how many people knew that Carol Channing was also African American. She was told her heritage at age 17. Had her heritage been known, she would not have been allowed those songs or roles in America. Carol Channing broke many barriers. Look at her performance. Research her education and life story. She’s amazing.

I saw Carol Channing with Mary Martin in Legends right before Mary died and Larry was in the audience. Mary was struggling but Carol helped her out

I will never forget attending to an interview with Angela Lansbury at the New School of Social Research., in the late 60ds. During it she had a glass of white wine, at a side table and insisted that she would like to be addressed as Mrs Shaw, instead of Ms Lansbury.

what a treat. Carol was legendary for never failing to show up to perform. Her understudy had the worst job in New York. the old trooper must have fallen and broken that arm and she needs extra assistance, but nobody cares least of all the gracious Angela. They honor each other and everybody else peeks in. By the way, how many dancers ever got to say they danced both of these numbers with the orginal Mame and Dolly performing with them while the lyricist Herman, was in audience ? You are looking at total number in this clip.

I saw Angela Lansbury in Mame on Broadway in 1964 or 1966(can't remember what year). I also saw Hello, Dolly, but not with Carol Channing. I saw the all black cast with Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway. Two unforgettable shows

I saw Cabaret on Broadway with Joel Grey,,,also saw West Side Story in 1959 with Carol Lawrence and Larry Kert and Mickey Callen. But I haven't been to a Broadway show since 1968 when I saw Fiddler on the Roof. OMG..that's over 50 years ago.
