Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. Angelina's is deep and rich. Angelina has said that singing is as important as breathing to her. Aurora has said that she doesn't really enjoy singing all that much. She does it to share her writing. So what does that mean? It means that being different doesn't make someone better or worse. It just means different. Both of these young women are true artists worthy of a listen and I love hearing both of them.

Back in 2014 this little 7 year old girl first struck a world dumb with a talent that most said was God given. She became known by many as "The Barefoot Princes of Music". Yes, she can hold the notes...in Feeling Good and others she will hold a note for as much as 10-15 seconds. You noticed the band members - they liked her so much they called her The Boss and continued to play for her. In outdoor concerts and some big indoor venues before she moves to LA you can see them backing her up. Let’s analyze the video: 1st you see how small and cute she is. 2nd you see she is barefoot (story below) 3rd You see her making her “Wish List” of suggested changes to the song. 4th the band leader taking note of the changes. 5th Angelina is holding a candle with “Screemin’ Jay Hawkin’s (original artist 1956) picture on it. 6th the old soul in her voice. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talk with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a Doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind the world that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

Now you need to see her own composition videos of "Million Miles". She wrote it when she was ~12 years old for the memory of her recently passed (at that time) beloved grandfather. She has dedicated it to him and for any others that have experienced such loss. There are two incredible video versions to see other than the official music video by her new label, Republic Records. Watch the lyrics version first. It has great artful graphics by her grandmom, a noted Iranian artist. The lyrics are most powerful. Then watch the live b/w studio version. She uses just a piano (played by a very high up Republic executive) and cello backing. The emotion in this performance will make you cry. Angelina mentioned that while recording the "official" version she cried throughout the session. If you have memories of a dear loss, you need to do a reaction video of these performances. Stunning, emotional artistry by a 15 year old kid singer/songwriter/arranger. (I apologize for the "cut and paste" I used for this comment. I think because you have stated that you really love movie orchestras or something like that please consider watching Aurora’s “The River” Live Bergen 2020. It’s just her dressed like an Egyptian goddess singing with a full string accompaniment. Absolutely mesmerizing.

Fun reaction. The 1st time hearing her sing is like “woah”. I really really hope her voice doesn’t change as she gets older because it’s brilliant now. I also hope that she writes more of her own songs because if she can do that with someone else’s feelings and experiences I can’t imagine how beautiful her own feelings would sound. At the age of 6, while traveling the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in Hope to get some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as not to get the scales dirty and stepped on the scales many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl, who wore no shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns that she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she finds her shoes. Angelina says her shoes don't go well with her and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl, who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to be a doctor. But that will never happen because I have no parents and siblings, so I have to do whatever is necessary so that we can survive. ”Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so that Angelina's dream would come true. Angelina still says that she thinks of this homeless girl every day and has always stepped barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.

Chris, from different sources i read a interesting story about this video. She was 9 years and two months. Angelinas parents rented the studio incl. the band. It must have been in her fathers name. When she came in, she introdused her and shook hands after giving her "wishes" (arrangements) to the studio boss. She must have introduced herself with her full name. The musicians told later in interviews, that they did not recognise her. The band members said, that after 30 seconds into the song, they knew exactly who they were playing with. Scandinavians superstar Angelina Jordan, prodigy, and national treasure of Norway. As she knew what she wanted and it was better than what they had thought of, they nicknamed her adoringly and lovingly THE BOSS. When Pro musicians worldwide talk about the boss with awe, they mean AJ.

Way back in the beginning of her rise the story was the little girl said at the end of their conversation, that Angelina will probably leave and forget about her. Then Angelina said that she would sing bare foot to remember her by and until the whole world had the oppotunity to have shoes. So the bare foot thing has a two-fold purpose. To remember the little girl and to make people aware of the plight of the shoeless. I am wondering if anybody knows how that little girl has been doing? Angelina only sang that song that way once. I think she was cautioned about possible permanent damage singing that way that young. She still sang it just more user friendly. I wrote a whole big comment for your Bohemian Rhapsody reaction BUT, as per usual I hit the wrong key and not only was my comment gone but I was staring at Daneliya Tuleshova's beautiful face as she was going to sing her tribute to the men from Kazakhstan's WWII including both her grandfathers.
