There are so, so many songs Angelina has sung which are out-of-this-world and it doesn't make any sense to try to list them. Most 'angels' have at least 50 to 100 songs in their top10 list. But this one gets an extra star because it has everything. And not only that, she sang it flawlessly. Artistically, by the time she turned 9 years old (she was 8 here) people were beginning to believe what she was doing was bordering on genius. So, Mr J Snow, what have we got here which explains why you're so taken by her? Her voice. The soulfulness within her transforms into love when she sings 'for you'. Artistically, her ability to interpret the message of a song, how to change the tempo of an already established classic, work hand in hand with very renown artists who swear by her, and musically on top of everything. Thirdly, who she is. She is a beautiful human being and her desire in life is do what she can to make the world a better place to live for everyone, particularly for those less fortunate. She understands how people react to her singing. Not only do we have joy listening to her, we also have hope we can achieve goals in our lives and feeling her love in something that will never go away. But, there's more. She inspires us to be the best we can be as human beings. Her timing! As a musician you know. By the metronome, she's never ON the beat (in this style of music), always before or after, in a jazzy style that just can't be taught. One really believes that she has experienced the events spoken of within the lyrics and feels the emotions those lyrics engender. I have been listening to music for over 85 years and have never come across another singer as talented and versatile as Angelina. Over nine years have passed since that first encounter, and I have never seen any reason to change.

Angelina is bewildering. Our minds just can't understand how what we are seeing is even possible. One thing is her phrasing is phenomenal. And it is not just how she shapes her timing and pitch, but as Angelina goes through even a single note, she changes her voice texture and color, all to form an artistically expressive whole.

Mr. J, you're like so many of us - astounded by greatness when you see or hear it. As you'll see on your journey, you will eventually stop being shocked by her age and you'll simply recognize her genius. You'll almost forget her age. One of my favorites, still brings me tears after perhaps 500 listens over a couple of years. I wonder if anyone else particularly enjoys "...since you said you were MINE" where her exquisite vocal texture and vibrato just goes on and on until she finally releases the note (as always) at the perfect instant of time.

I've decided that when she sings, she is totally free in how she sings it. She embodies the song & adds her many delicate ornaments like rasp, vocal fry, vibrato, scups, slides. riffs & runs "on the fly." She never seems to sing a song the same way twice, even in the same concert. She sings it as she feels it in the moment, instead of memorizing every little detail to reproduce it each time, as many other vocalists do. The fact that she was doing that at the tender age of 8 is incomprehensible!!!

The second clip I saw of Angelina singing. It became an early favourite. The first time I saw her was on the show TV show Lillyhammer. Then I looked her up. The first clip was her NORWAYS GOT TALENT audition. Then this. I was hooked.

This is simply wondrous. So I get a call: hey I know that you’ve been singing for 30 years, but I need you to sing backup for an eight year old. Could you imagine?

I think the most accurate description of her voice is hypnotically mesmerizing. Whether it’s the skillful use of vibrato and fry, the range, the timbre, the emotion she conveys, or a combination of all those things, when she starts singing you can’t not listen. It’s captivating. And it doesn’t matter the age. She was just as captivating on Gloomy Sunday as she was on the FIFA awards. A truly remarkable, once in a century human being. I would recommend finishing the videos from NGT, Bang Bang and Summertime. They really demonstrate remarkable growth in talent and confidence.

There are a lot of talented "child" singers but none quite like this little girl giving us absolutely stunning vocals in her jazz style. That mold was broken when Angelina was born. As a young child Angelina had it in her heart to sing for the world, that's her dream, my dream is to listen to Angelina, period. Love your reactions because you seem very sincere. As an active musician you see more than most people! But like many people you run out of words to react in an original way! That's okay! Angelina is all about making us enjoy her singing without analyzing! Apparently she found out at a very young age that she does not only enjoy singing herself, but she can make people happy doing it! And she explored almost every genre possible and every time she finds a way to make the best of it, full of beauty and feeling! As a musician myself (amateur) the thing that strikes me aside from what you already mentioned is her feel of rhythm and timing. The slow bluesy ballads of Billie Holiday and this song are not easy to sing over an accompaniment. She does it very subtle and beautiful! She is a genius, if you ask me!
