I feel like by Yoruba superstition, Arolake can't have a better life outside of the King hence she thought she has to come back... May be possibly get pregnant and all. Have her own life too. I blame her for the choices but had to think about the other side too. Just my own imagination.

I doubt if Bashorun would be able to pass through the heaven’s gate cos of Saro’s neckpiece that’s in his possession and I think that might be a big plot twist in the coming season. And Saro not being on the line at the end means he is probably not dead, I mean… he still has about 15 lives to take before he can go through. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾 anyways

Well done Tito. Your analysis was on point as usual. There were a lot of unnecessary plot holes some of which you mentioned. Kuranga had to stay in Oyo because it was a tradition for every newlyweds to stay in a room within the town for 3 days without being seen by anyone after a wedding. Also, the necklace given to Saro by the angel was taken away by Basorun so it's safe to say that The 3 ghosts would be able to transition to the afterlife only through the one holding the necklace. I remembered the ghosts asking if Basorun would be able to get them through the gate towards the end of the series. I prefer the Saro in the series because he was able to speak the Yoruba language better than he did in the movie. The overall casting was good.

I think all the plot loopholes are setting up for the next season, that being said there was ALOT of unanswered questions. I think they spent so long building/ expanding the world that the main plot got skewed. A lot of things happened solely for the convenience of the plot 😢.The end was definitely underwhelming. But it was a brilliant watch nonetheless. Great review!!😊

Fantastic movie review again, Tito! Loved the detailed breakdown, and it largely captured how i felt when i watched the series. I personally did not like VFX of the town of Oyo with the waterfall and steam in the extreme ends of the screen. It felt too obviously fake and noticeable. I was pleasantly surprised to be introduced to more characters and parallel storylines in the series but like you pointed out was left unsatisfied with Saro's offscreen death and inconsistencies with how he was still human after being abducted to Oyo. I get they were trying to build suspense for S2 but hearing the comment about them perhaps doing 7 seasons leaves me feeling wary. I doubt i would want to watch 7 seasons of this story. I also did not get why Arolake was offered that unending bag of wealth. It did not make sense why she got that help. And i was also confused why the 3 ghosts whould help the fellow purposely delaying their crossover. Also was confused as to why Akin was better dressed than the Oba of Oyo. I know Arolake had untold wealth but it seemed a like a costume mishap for Akin to be better dressed than the whole Oba of Oyo himself. Also found Torera's switch from defending her father to just leaving him behind to marry a stranger she knew next to nothing about. Especially considering how much she resisted Saro in the beginning. But when you remember she's Awarun's daughter; who practically left her family to pursue her own personal dreams in another town (no shade to both women), it kinda makes sense she got her headstrong and willful trait from her mother. Although the end was less than satisfactory, i thoroughly enjoyed the series and was on the edge of my seat with anticipation the entire time. Great production by Kunle Afolayan!

I really don't think Saro is dead, that why they didn't bother showing it because he wasn't on the queue with the rest of the ghosts. I think Saro is still coming back to life to kill more people to bring back. I think the 3 ghosts helped Saro so the 3 years can come very quick, which end up happening the 3years came so quick.

1. Concerning Kuranga, the person that spoke up and carried Omowunmi away is played by the actor Niyi Johnson, who i believe will reveal himself more in the next season. 2. For Saro, I am not sure I saw him at the end when Bashorun and the ghosts were walking to heaven's gate. I believe they may not be granted access because of the key Bashorun took away from Saro. 3. Then the old blind woman who told Saro how to live in another place, we may still see how that would unravel.

Fantastic review🌟. I wish we saw more of Arolake and Saro but as you said they’re trying to expand the plot. The VFX was so good so I wonder why the scene of bashoruns death had to be so tacky?? And it wasn’t even necessary!! The ending was very underwhelming I just hope they make up for it in the coming seasons.

Thank you Tito for the detailed review. My best episode was the first episode. I was left in suspense and was curious to see Saro's plan to live longer. However, I was disappointed with the limited scenes of Saro. The two main issues I am unhappy with are the fact that Bashorun walked away from the King and wasn't punished or given any warning. He is the King for crying out loud! I was mad about that tbh 😅. Secondly, I expected a more powerful dialogue between Saro and Arolake. They both betrayed each other. She was the cause of Saro's death. I was expecting them (especially Saro) to express shock, anger, blame, regret and then forgiveness. What was that "I'm sorry I hurt you" scene we got😂. You said it all and that's why I always anticipate your reviews. Thank you!

I am late to the party... I enjoyed the movie overall but I agree with the other comments that it wasn't wow but not bad over all. The ending was a let down. It's like they just want to end it by all means and they had over expanded the plot to the point of not been able to tie them all together. But weldone to him. I am glad he even got a story writer this time... He has improved a lot from back in the days... Kudos to KAP.. Tito, thank you for always dropping reviews. Weldone.

In addition to things that didn’t work out, How did was Saro able to bury his corpse by himself? He was a spirit that people could go through meaning that he can hold onto an object. For Arolake’s wealth pouch, it was too convenient, why did the forest beings give her free money without any sacrifice or repercussion? I know they might want to make a story out of it in subsequent seasons but it would’ve been great if they hinted something around it. Also, the first episode dragged for too long and there were timeline plot holes (it was a bit tacky). Overall, it was a good story but for me lot of it was underwhelming and could’ve been executed better, sure there are parts that got interesting and you want to know where it will land but it wasn’t and upward slope. Well done @tito, Love your reviews.

Bashorun was the actor for me in this series. Good series but not as interesting as the movie.Expected more considering how the film was. Yet to see a Nigerian film where the part 2 or season 2 is better. See madam koikoi. They put so much effort in the first part and let us down in subsequent season . They can't keep up with the tempo.

I like the introduction of the Yoruba superstitious belief Akudaya in the plot but the execution was poor. The Saro and Arolake reunion was boring. Saro saying his goodbyes in the dream was also tacky. How was forgiveness so easy for Arolake after holding a heavy resentment towards Saro for mistreating her? Saro's suddenly character arc of redemption and reconciliation at the end was also very abruptly executed. The instruction giving to Arolake to take care of another woman he was involved with and his baby also seemed out of place. He also had children with other women previously in the movie. Where are they? The ghost plot was interesting but seemed useless at some point. Why would you help someone who killed you and is supposed to guide you to the afterlife delay your own transitioning? They should have given us a solid reason or establish a prior relationship to push that narrative.
