well that did not solved my problem :( the error message disappeared but i still can't make any new cards tried erasing line 44 also and didn't work too wtf HELP

Update the addon to the latest version and delete line 44. That solved it for me.

are you using yomichan or yomitan? also check all your settings, especially AnkiConnect server address it must coincide with anki plugin address as well and the deck on new cards are created if doesn't exist it doesn't let you to add new cards

@@shellgecko Hi, the solution on this video solved the problem when I was using Yomichan. Now, I am using Yomitan, and it doesn't connect with Anki. Both plugin and ankiconnect server address coincide... do you know how to fix it?

@@soymiyart3209 with yomitan it's necessary to give some additional permissions, make sure that when you click on the yomitan icon a button with a lock icon doesn't appear, if it does click on that button and give yomitan the requested permissions also check your dictionaries aren't broken or corrupted if so download the most recent versions on google look for themoeway/jmdict-yomitan repository

I have the same problem, I tried the two proposed solutions but still, the buttons to make new cards are unresponsive.

It seems like most of your addons, if not all of them, have already been updated to Anki 23.10+. Why keep using 2.1.49? If I'm not mistaken you don't even have FSRS in 2.1.49.

Very simple: . Reasons to not use 23: 1. Beautify Anki is buggy in 23 2. Heatmap + Beautify is buggy in 23 3. Forvo addon is not updated for 23 4. FSRS is not required 5. FSRS is available just by getting the addon anyway 6. Many users reported Migaku incompatible for 23 . Reasons to use 2.1.49: 1. No plugin incompatibilities 2. Everything just works 3. As stated above, if you really care about FSRS that much but don't want all the downsides of 23, you can just install the FSRS plugin on 2.1.49 and reap all the benefits of this version too . Reasons to use 23: 0

I see. I was on 2.1.35 for 3 years and updated just a few months ago. FSRS greatly improved my workflow. Btw heatmap is now built-in into the stats menu, so it's not necessary anymore. Also, someone forked the Forvo addon to make it work with 23.12.1 (altho i think most people just use local audio server, so the audio get's automatically exported when you click to add card with yomichan/yomitan). I used Beautify Anki before: great addon, although unnecessary. I think there's a fork for it too, I don't remember. But yeah, If you don't need FSRS there's pretty much close to 0 benefit in updating.@@JouzuJuls
