Seeing a beginning level match was extremely useful and helpful to me. Tennis instruction on KZfaq is almost exclusively people who already know the game trying to give advice that isn't targeted to the needs of a beginner. Excellent video and content.

Anna’s enthusiasm and happiness is infectious, she has come on well in her game and it’s nice to see as I started learning at about the same time as her. Her little dances between shots make me smile. I love the way she is happily playing when Nik comes in and tells her she’s under pressure, but she isn’t! So funny. Keep on enjoying your tennis Anna, it’s great to share your journey.

Not true at all. My trainer was a large a-hole and drilled me as a kid. Had to cry multiple times. Now I can beat 98,5% of players. You don't get a W by being nice and supportive, wtf. Players should be sad if they play an unforced error or make a tactical mistake. There is zero celebration in failure. People who that are too emotional and will never achieve bigger things. Just enjoy your tears when you are in an actual match and the you make foot fault after foot fault. Also, couching is not allowed in a MATCH.

I'm super impressed, by her and you as a coach! She's clearly very coachable, positive and great that she's always smiling. And it's great that you're walking her through the whole real match experience... especially things like calling the ball out, talking mid rally and etiquette. You're a great coach, I love that you're giving her the most important feedback and but also not too much feedback. My one suggestion would be to include the hand gesture when calling the ball in or out. Also, for beginners, who often forget the score, calling out the score every time before the serve really helps to stay on track and avoid disagreements. 👏 GREAT JOB ANNA!
@doug339
@doug339 2 жыл бұрын
It was interesting to see the struggles, because they were the same ones my daughter had in her first match. Calling out / keeping track of the score was a much larger workload in her first match than I was expecting. Especially when her opponent was either willfully cheating or having issues calling the score that seemed to always go in her favor. My daughter quickly realized how important clearly calling in/out and keeping track of score is. By her third match she had it down perfectly and was even helping her opponent.

Congrats to both ladies. I was very impressed with how long the points were. That shows their ability to concentrate on their strokes and manage the stress while hitting different shots. Also, Nik and Anna make a very successful coach-student pairing. I showed this to my girlfriend, and it inspired her to practice more and enjoy friendly competition. Tennis tends to be a solitary sport, but the emotions experienced while watching makes it a universally enjoyable experience. (Nik, --- I hope Anna's opponent will want to take lessons from you, too. Everyone else has already pretty much echoed the same sentiments I have. 💛 Anna did really well honestly! And even as an advanced player, it's continually satisfying to watch her play and improve. Was rooting for her and she had some really good points with Christine. She honestly has pretty good strokes and decent placement on both wings; especially when she follows through and completes her stroke. Good job, Nikola! It probably helps as well that she has such a great attitude. Obviously still work to be done, but for a beginner she's looking good! She's always so endearing to watch in your videos.

I really like how you have developed Anna into a match ready player, Nick! Her enthusiasm to want to play more matches (or at least with Christine) is refreshing and good to see. I can still remember the first few videos when you were helping her develop her fundamentals. It was evident that she was working to stay in form with her setup (racket prep, unit turns and follow through) on most scenarios. I never felt that she was rushing or swinging wildly.

@@IntuitiveTennis I just realized that this match was after a year of your teaching! Kudos to the coach too! She has way more solid fundamentals than me and I'm almost embarrassed to admit how long I've been playing for. 😂 Love this channel! Working my way through your back catalog... 🎾

Great job Anna. Your movement ... footwork is very good for the beginning stages of learning the game. It will become a strong piont of your game for sure. Probably are ready for a little bit more racquet head speed. Hear the swooch sound ... just a little, don't want to over hit either at this stage of learning. You keep the ball in play very nicely. Great video.

I just recently found your channel and i'm loving the videos. You are a big inspiration for me as i just recently picked up tennis again (trained a bit during my elementary school days). And also a big inspiration that you were born in the same city as me :) Big greetings from Split and Kaštela, pozdrav!

This is great Nik. You are brilliant. Anna is a star! I take it you didn’t switch sides for technical reasons of having to move the camera and tripod across the court. Maybe you should have had a second camera and tripod on the other side? At any rate, great work! 👍🏼
