A person with tics here! The narrator said that “they would post videos where they wouldn’t tic” a lot of people with tics/Tourette’s can go days, weeks, even a few months without ticing, depending on how they’re feeling and what’s going on in their life, especially if their tics are stress or anxiety induced (like mine). It IS possible that ticsandroses would record videos when they weren’t ticing and post those on the second account (I’m in no way saying they DO have tics, just if they did have tics, and for future reference), quite a few context creators actually with tics/Tourette’s do this. Just wanted to make more people aware this is a thing

I have deleted Tik Tok for this reason. I have seen so many people fake Autism and claiming that self diagnosis is valid, and as someone who is autistic, it made me so angry and hurt. You cannot diagnose yourself with anything, especially not with things like ASD. These people don’t know the harm they are doing to actual Autistic people.

As a person with tourette's, it is really disgusting to see people fake it on videos like that. It is not a joke and it is not fun. Faking tourette's on videos just for views is just awful. Then laughing about it? That is just showing others that people with tourette's (that actually suffer from it like myself), are probably faking it which they don't! It is hard. I have had tourette's syndrome since I was 12 years old, which got worse to the point that I have fallen down stairs and gotten seriously injured by ticcing. And do you really think yelling "I have covid 19" at school and in the stores is funny? It's embarrassing and sometimes can cause you to have other troubles like being kicked out of stores, the cinema, etc. Thank you so much for putting this out there. I hope that ticsandroses gets themselves straightened out. And if you are reading this and are faking tourette's for attention, I hope you get some help or guidance.

True. I have tics myself and even tho mine is just mild its very hard for me. Everytime i get strong emotions like anger i get tics and its hard for me to express my self to other people which make me even more stressed. One time I fought with a classmate and had tics ,because of that she just laughed at me and dont even try to understand what im saying. I had kids calling me weird in public because of my tics even if im used to it its still hurtful. Also people do be thinking having Tourettes are just making noises and squinting. Like- at times i would bang my head unconsciously because of it . I even broke my neck (tho its just a slight injury) tics is not cute or funny . Its a serious matter. Its not used in gaining clout and fame. (Btw ticsandroses girl do be acting so bad lmao. Idk how she thinks she can fool everyone. And also im pretty sure most of the people on tiktok who actually have tics dont just post their tics casually. Most of them help others with tics how to solve our daily problems and also spread awareness of our condition)

As someone with autism, i can confirm that other nuerodivergent individuals can have tics. For autistic individuals it may look like stims. but stim is a repeatitive movement that you cant control that helps Regulate your body when ypu are overstimulated. Tics are involentary movements or sayings or even muscle tensing that you cant control that happen out of spite. Sometimes for people with autism tics can also happen when overstimulated And overwhelmed but if its repeatitive thats a stim. Like for instanst constantly flapping my hands and flapping my stuffies is a stim i do. Neck jerking and doing a pfftttrhhh are my tics when im under stress or even at random moments for no particular reason.

People faking ADHD will only focus on the “cute quirky” stuff. They’ll emphasize the hyperactivity, and the constant distraction. “Aaaa I’m so hyper I literally can’t stop moving- OMG HAVE YOU SEEN THE KNEW VENOM MOVIE YET- oo look there’s a bird” but they’ll never bring up that ADHD causes extreme memory problems to a point where I (a person who has been diagnosed since early childhood) cannot remember anything from last year whatsoever as if the whole year itself didn’t happen. People faking it won’t talk about how stupid you feel constantly because it’s like there’s a physical block in your head preventing you from learning and preforming well and just being capable of scoring average on tests. I have an IQ of 125, but every time I take my placement tests in school I get told I’m still at 8th grade level even though I’m a Junior atm. And the people faking it will never talk about how painful it is to have your teacher talk to you as if you’re incredibly stupid, or a child, because you’re constantly getting low scores and they don’t understand how you can’t simply just retain this info in your head, why notes aren’t helping you, or why trying to study is an impossible feet. People faking ADHD won’t talk about how it causes you to be unable to sleep at night, how it gives you extreme insomnia because your brain wants to be constantly active and you’ll only sleep if you work yourself to your breaking point because only then will you be able to fall asleep reasonably. And the people faking it don’t talk or show it because they DONT EVEN KNOW. To every average person it seems like ADHD just makes you super hyper and distracted. They don’t know the details. It’s painful to see these people fake it for attention. It’s painful to watch them glorify it. ADHD isn’t funny. It’s not pretty. It’s not fun. It’s a nightmare.

its funny how every person who fakes tics just so happens to have Tourettes. not any other tic disorder, it has to be Tourettes. also the fact that they only have cute uwu kawaii tics or lol funny tics instead of ones that physically hurt them like how tics actually does to people who genuinely have them. also that they always seem to have coprolalia or at-least verbal tics. they literally just take the most popular and romanticized parts of tic disorders and have them. its disgusting tbh.

As a person that has tics, not all tics are Tourette’s. The amount of times my head jerks so fast or i choke while involuntary gasping for air, is too high. Since Tourettes didn’t really run in the family except for a few people, my mom took me to the neurologist to get help. I took a survey, and it turned out that I had significant anxiety, and elevated depression. Anxiety can cause you to have tics. Now, I do get bullied at my school for it. People will throw things or hit me and say “oops my tourettes” or tell me to say cuss words then blame it on Tourette’s. I don’t do it because I’m scared of getting in trouble. There are certain times where I will say random things. The point is, some people might just have anxiety tics that are undiagnosed (the symptoms are a lot like Tourette’s symptoms), and call it Tourette’s.

i don’t personally have tourrettes or any kind of tics, but one of my best friends has it and has a tic where they hit themselves in the chest, hard. They have painful tics where they jerk their head, and have even cut themselves by accident because of a tic. I’ve also witnessed them having a painful tic attack, and it almost made me cry because there was nothing I could do to stop it. They have been ridiculed by people and stared and pointed at in public. The fact that they have to deal with that on a daily basis and people have the audacity to fake tics for clout, is so incredibly frustrating and hurtful. And despite all that they are one of the friendliest and most empathetic people I know. They joke or laugh when their tics are funny in a given situation. They live their life because they are a still a regular teenager like the rest of our friends. But it gets worse because my friend has been accused by several people out in public of faking tics, who have no fucking clue about them or their life or just tourrettes in general. The people who fake tics are not only hurting themselves and peoples ability to trust them, but they are also actively hurting an entire community of people who already have to deal with so much. It makes me furious.

ADHD is not just being hyper. It’s feeling overwhelmed with everyday tasks at work and home. Panicking when you can’t remember if you forgot to do or bring something, hell even remembering when you last ate. It’s often associated with anxiety and depression. The ages of 14-19 were hell for me because of this. It’s not cute or funny. Humor can be a way to cope but weeks or months of being in the throes of a depressive episode reveals it is not always laughing about it and getting famous on the internet for clout.

That make me a lot angry because of the fact I deal with it almost since birth, I spend 10 years of my life with psychologists and sometimes they faked their attacks that wore more like panic attack and not anxiety attacks. This cause here is not any different from it, fake a psychological help problem for views when real people live with it and can't have a totally normal live as they have to live if something that was created by terrible traumas. Let's don't forget the fact they are giving the wrong impression and information to people that actually want to understand better the others and how they live in their situation.

I'm someone who suffers from ADHD (I was diagnosed at 4 - I'm 16 now), and I don't really understand why someone would want to fake it. I have seen some videos on TikTok of people mentioning that they have ADHD and they saying how they get distracted so easily, which although is a symptom, it's not the only symptom. With my ADHD, I have intense mood swings which really affects me and my family, I also have shivers and intense body movements as well as stuttering which can be super stressful for me, as well as this I find it super hard to sit still, so even though I'm exhausted I'm obligated by my body to move which can be dangerous depending the situation, and also makes me feel super down as I feel trapped in my body. Although I was properly diagnosed and have help and support, I still struggle at times with my ADHD, which isn't helped by people faking ADHD, as they think that ADHD is something funny and it's "cool" to have, yet as someone suffering from it, it can be really hard.

I remember this one tiktok where this person said “when you have a mom with ADHD” and the mom made like 6 different dinners because she “forgot that she made them” when they were all made in one day and they were all meals that would take a lot of time like lasagna, spaghetti, soup, etc. This makes me sick because that isn’t realistic to people with ADHD, we don’t just forget that we spent many hours preparing a meal big enough for a thanksgiving with 100 people in one day. People need to learn that faking any disorder is not okay, especially if someone feels like they might have a disorder but because of some random TikTok then they aren’t valid enough to even ask their doctor about it

It takes so many hours to make that many meals also,, I might make plans to bake like 4 different pastries but then when I’m in the kitchen I might end up making 2 different pastries and only got halfway through the 3rd and now I’m too uninterested and bored to continue on lmao

As a person with severe anxiety, people need to stop faking these disorders. I know someone who I don’t know if I should consider her a friend anymore at this point, who says she has Tourette’s, autism, anxiety, depression, etc. and it pisses me off. She doesn’t know what it’s like to have most of those. I sometimes find it hard to do anything on some days with my anxiety, and she is here faking it and other disorders.

I dont have tourettes, but I do tic quite a bit every day. it gets annoying, and it's sometimes embarrassing. I was diagnosed with adhd and autism as a young child, and I cannot believe that anyone who fakes it would want to truly live with it every day. my horrible noise sensitivity, sometimes I have the inability to do simple every day tasks, being easily overwhelmed, falling behind on my work because of my inability to focus on it, etc etc. it's a form of gift in some ways but it's terrible to live with in a lot of ways too. I've learned to love myself for who I am but that doesnt mean that living with autism and adhd isnt hard and exhausting :(

Same here, I get tics (though I’m not diagnosed because I’m in a family where the response to any mental illness/issue is “it’s all in your head”) and even though it’s nowhere near as serious as someone with Tourette’s, at least a third of the tics I get include self harm (again, nothing major. it’s mostly just slapping myself, but never hard enough to inflict any damage beyond the initial sting). It’s incredibly embarrassing to live with, especially in public because I get weird stares. And if I know the person I do it in front of i always feel like I *have* to explain what they just witnessed even if I’m not ready for that yet. The fact that someone would just fake this because they think it’s quirky and will get them sympathy points is so gross.

As someone with ADHD I could never understand why anyone would want to fake having it. I have to wear headphones all day to stop myself from having anxiety attacks from overstimulation at school. My medication makes it to where I can only eat in small quantities but I don’t know I’m hungry till I feel sick from the hunger, so it’s just a game of roulette with my hunger. Not to mention things like rejection sensitivity that make it hard for me to discern if my friends are mad at me, a lack of a filter when I talk to people and no real way of discerning tone, and executive dysfunction which makes it hard to do even really basic tasks like putting on my shoes in the morning.

I have tourette syndrome. People like this genuinely hurt me and others more than they realise. It gives other people a reason to accuse those of us who genuinely have it an excuse to call us fake. Btw, these tics could have been real. Genuinely. Just because someone has tics that look fake or doesn't tic at all during certain times doesn't make them fake. Not ticcing all the time is common. For example, me! I don't tic when playing piano.

I try to be aware of it myself so I can watch my own behaviour and I appreciate it when someone calls me out on something I mightve not even remembered. But I feel so drained every day. it really sucks. it sucks even more when my ptsd kicks in because then my emotions are really strong and its hard for me to switch back so it takes so much time. As a 31 year old woman who woke up one morning with uncontrollable motor and vocal tics, it upsets me greatly to see this. I can't tell you just how TERRIFYING it was when it first started and the numerous tests and doctors visits, worrying that something was seriously wrong or that I had a brain tumor and my babies were going to lose their mother..... It was such a stressful time and my tics were so bad I didn't even want to leave my house because tbh it was embarrassing and the embarrassment feeling made my tics even worse. After tons of different testing and various doctors visits, I was diagnosed with adult onset tourettes. Learning to cope with this has changed my life entirely. I've hurt myself more times than I can count, I now have marks and scars from different violent tics. During tic attacks I've cried, begged, and even prayed for the tics to just stop because it HURTS, not just the violent (head hitting/punching/biting) tics but just my body hurts from random movement. My neck muscles have grown because I do a pretty much constant head jerk one, it gets sore really often because of it, especially if its a hard fast jerk.. 2020 was the hardest year of my life in many ways and now in 2021 I'm finally accepting that this is my life. I've been going to therapy to learn how to cope with it and also how to feel "normal" and not be embarrassed by it. You would be shocked how many people blatantly stare or nudge the person they are with, its so humiliating. I have horrible social anxiety and when my anxiety gets worse the tics start getting worse too so its a vicious cycle and people staring doesn't help. This is why its so important to mind your own damn business. If you see someone in person making weird gestures or saying shit just mind your own business. Not everyone who does that type of stuff is on drugs, some of us just have brains that say "hey you should do this" and our body is like "ok cool". The way I described it to my doctor and to anyone who asks me what a tic feels like; to me is that its kind of like an itch. Most times, you just mindlessly scratch the itch without thinking about it so the itch goes away. Sometimes you notice it "hey I have an itch" and you scratch it to relieve that feeling and make yourself feel better. Then sometimes you recognize the itch and choose not to scratch it until you physically can't take it anymore and end up itching yourself bloody or with a worse itchiness than if you just scratched it. I mean shit, even writing this took me a while lol. On bad days I use talk to text because I tend to yeet my phone if I try to hold it more than a few minutes. Threw it a mop bucket the other day so yeahhhh that was fun.... also if your phone doesn't work after a night in rice try leaving it in for 2 more days and try again lmao
