The white specks are the bulbs from shedded hair. It won’t come out. Many dye their hair to hide it. I’m still a newbie so won’t be able to dye anytime soon.

The white bulbs 💡 are the roots of shed hair that have fallen out of your scalp, but since you have locs they have nowhere to fall. They’re not being combed out or falling onto the floor or ground. ❤

Oh I have that in the back as well. My loctician said it wasn’t anything to worry about. It hasn’t caused any issues for me.

Most are uniform some are not. We can see it but people looking at our locs will never know that that . As years pass they will all be uniform. Enjoy your journey beautiful!

You won’t loose a lot of the curl. My hair is the same texture and curl pattern as yours. My ends are still curly some have close many have not. What I have learned is curly hair locs at different rates. My hair was about 60% loc’d at 10 to 11 months. Just let it do its thing.

Thank you!! How far along are you now? I’ll keep the hope that the curls stay, but the fully locked ones in the back seem pretty straight already so idk

@@kahinamatata I’m 2yrs this past September. As locs mature they gain weight (if you will) which is why they straighten but the ends can stay curly. Most of mine still are.

Thanks so much for the feedback! That’s good to know. It’s an interesting experience to not know 100% how it’ll all look but I picked this life because I know I’ll be fine lol And happy 2 years!! 🤎
