I love how pistols take nearly half of the arsenal in the trilogy

A rundown of all the weapons is actually a pretty good idea and my favorite out of all the handguns is definitely the Black Kite because it reminds of the Desert Eagle from Counter-Strike games (same gun basically).

HPSS is present in Shadow of Chernobyl, though you need to use some scripts for traders so they can sell it ( as well as TOZ-34 and unfinished P90 with 5.7 ammo )

Great video! In vanilla I tend to use the SIG as end game sidearm, the USP and Desert Eagle are too bulky for me, as I always keep a shotgun in my inventory for those pesky mutants.

Stalker really got me into liking the Makarov pistol to the point where I would want one irl as a self defense pistol. I still haven't bought one yet but after so long of playing Stalker I find the pistol to be sexy, so this is how Brandon Herrera feels... Idc if it is a smaller cartiridge of 9x18mm, size doesn't matter to me at this point.

Nice, new series! Even though it's nothing special, Fort-15 may be one of my favorites, and I always stick to it in SoC. Same with Degtyarev's PM, which I usually hold onto for most of the playthrough, before switching to March or Alpine.

My fav would be the pre upgraded deagle from CS, nothing can beat an top tier free gun. Also the steppe eagle in COP once upgraded is actually the mkst accurate gun in the game on realistic distances. Honorary mention to pb1, the only gun that doesn't suffer from silencer stat penalty.

What I love about the arsenal in STALKER is that it gives you an urge to constantly seek out better weapons, as no matter how good your aim is, you can be held back by a weak gun and your survival will depend on it. It's like a personal side objective to find better gear. For example, finding PBS as early as possible can help you a lot before you can get your hands on 9x19mm pistols after leaving the rookie area. But much later in game, you'd want to find .45 acp to have more fair damage as your opponents will be enough tough to make 9x19mm feel like pea-shooters. PS: If you can't find a better weapon, using armor-piercing ammo can give you an extra edge even with pea-shooter pistols.

Some stray thoughts: Unless I'm mistaken, the conversion of the P99 to 9x18 is a bit more wild than it initially appears, because in spite of both 9mm Makarov and 9mm Parabellum being, you know, 9mm rounds, the former is technically slightly smaller (close enough to be a rounding error, but still large enough to do very unfortunate things to a firearm if you try to load the wrong round into battery.) Also, notable that the P99s are all Gen 1s. The Gen 2 P99 has a 15rnd mag. There is a 10rnd P220 series .45, the SIG P227. However, the P227 entered production in 2013, meaning its presence in STALKER would be anachronistic, if only just. (Externally, distinguishing between a P220, P226, and P227 is annoyingly difficult.) There is a 12rnd USP .45 magazine, however that's for the full frame USP, not the compact. Not sure if the compact will take the full frame's magazines or not. There's also a 12rnd USP Compact magazine, but it's for the .40 variant of the pistol. Further the 9mm USP Compact takes 13 rounds. Though, neither of these guns are present in STALKER. It's possible the 12rnd mag was an error based on either the full frame USP's mag capacity, or the .40 USP compact's capacity. The Browning is technically present in Shadow of Chernobyl's files, but as far as I can remember isn't actually set up to spawn anywhere. (The over-under TOZ may be a similar story. It's been a long time since I messed with the original game in any depth.)

My favorit pistol is the martha BUT The nearest to my heart is the PBs1 I remember that when I started stalker whit soc back when I was just 11 years old I didn't understand english as well as today and didn't read dialogs So when I got out sids bunker I yout headed off to the zone I realised that I only had a knife and was verry afraid So I headed back to the rookie village and on my way back I looked into the trailer thing near tolik I broke the little box and boom So It was my first gun and It was a very calming moment when I picked it up

Btw, I have a SIG/Sauer P220 that's exactly like the one in the game and I bought back in 2007. That's also the year I bought a pair of Matterhorn boots that are almost the same as the boots that come standard with the sunrise/stalker suit except they have D-rings that make them look and feel more like hiking boots. If I was into cosplay, I'd definitely incorporate those into muh gear. The real-world Desert Eagle comes in a variety of calibers, the most common three being .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, and .50 Action Express, all of which have shown up in Zone mods. Anomaly has .357, Lost Alpha has .44, and Oblivion Lost 2010 has .50 AE. Also, the PB's GRAU index designation is "6P9." 11:06 Closest could be the Jericho 941 or "Baby Eagle" in .45 ACP. Awesome!! I'm a huge fan of the channel and was hoping to see some new videos soon. I am a huge gun nut and stalker does a great job with real life weapons. You should have used the weapon mod pack from gamma to show off these pistols as the animations are much better. Love the videos keep up the good work

I am so glad they have the USP .45, it's my favorite pistol more than any other pistol. Powerful, reliable, manageable, a perfectly balanced sidearm with a nice look. Once I have the USP in a game, I almost never use any other pistol. Except maybe dual Glocks if I'm feeling wild.

The one weapon that always got me for the fake name is the PMM. They named the normal PM after its successor, first time I played SoC I was expecting 12 rounds in the mag lol.

Looking forward to the shotguns video! A shame they weren't that widespread and useful against other stalkers in the games :(

For me personaly udp compact is the best. Especialy when its fully upgraded. And than you have automatic handgun

I believe my favorites in the series are the Walther P99 and USP Compact since I like Western European handguns. I really hope Stalker 2 will feature Glocks since that's my irl favorite pistol, they're much better to shoot at the range than a heavy Beretta and I even have 2 airsoft replica Glocks.

Now this is a series i will enjoy so much.i always like the good ol' deagle. Too bad that the developers didn't add a fully auto handgun in the game. I think the perfect fit for one will be the Stechkin APS since it's a soviet made pistol made in the '50

UDPs rarely ever had to use handguns so I would use the suppressors and start a slow entry

personally i love big ben, ever since my first soc playthrough i would want to get it first, its the most reliable sidearm imo due to its high damage almost like a rifle would be though its ammunition is a little more pricey im not going to carry like 300rnds i just need a good 50-100 ish rnds because its just a backup rifle, and that i think the other pistols are really not as great other than maybe the udp and sip which for me I didnt have to worry about ammo as much as for the big ben

now when do i get the rambling about how the TRS's dust cover flap opens and closes when you shoot, and also how the mp5/viper5 has the charging handle as a reciprocating one and the ejection port also being on the left side. all of the rifles would eject the casings into you left arm if you are a righty shooter

Honestly, in every gameplay at some point I give up using a pistol, so I can carry more main weapon ammo.

I don't use pistols in any of the Stalker games. I just change between my primaries when needed. But I'd say my favorite pistol is the Martha. I have an airsoft M9 and so far I've been using it for 4 years now and still runs like a champ. Great video as always!

Firing sounds in CS and CoP suck horrible. Insanely dissapointing. Is Browning High Power unused in Shadow of Chernobyl or was there no trace of it at all? I always felt like it was always there.

Hands down Martha in SoC. Even though it's rather inaccurate and has one of the lowest durabilities, it packs a real punch with the hollow points.

I was confused that the Big Ben Uses a 9X39 because the bullet is bigger that the mag and the barrel and can only fit if you removed the cartilage but then it is useless
