I can already see the comments “wall hung junk” blah blah blah Blower Motor Error 2. After installing a total of 10 EcoTec combi's - this brings the failure rate to 20%. Absolutely disgusting quality control on this brand new model. Considering going BOSCH 100%

Ridiculously that high priced boiler has so many problems. I'm into my 4th season with a Rinnai i60 combi. Not one problem. I could have bought 4 Rinnai i60 for the price of one Eco Tech. Makes no sense.

Just did a repair on a Rheem on-demand gas fired. I took a couple of pictures but next time going to take a lot more before doing any repairs.. congrats Mikey on being the number one contractor on Long Island

Well.. maybe... maintained at least annually with proprietary parts. Sounds like after 12-15 years total failure requiring replacement. Personally, I'm a fan of cast iron with universal controls

No, too many computers, heat exchangers have incredibly tight tolerances, too complex, to quote one installer it's like a flame thrower there is forced air and a high btu fire in a small area, and then you have relatively high head loss through the heat exchanger so you need a beefy pump to get the system to a 20 deg delta t. There is just a lot to go wrong, they have around a 10 +/-2 year lifespan so well maintained maybe 12 years and if neglected 7-8 years. If you go this route expect to replace it every 10 years. The advantage is it is small and light. For my money install the Weil GV90+, you get 90%+ efficiency, cold water return protection, and pvc venting but the exhaust cooling for the condensing occurs outside the main heat exchanger.

The Ultra started out that way, at first the greatest thing, a boiler with a PhD as the ads said. Then the problems started creeping in. Nothing beats old-fashioned cast iron, gravity vented.

I’d say Weil McLain never test fired that boiler before it left the factory. I was at their factory in Michigan City Indiana in the 80’s! TITS😂😂😂😂

Combi's in my experience are junk. Viessman has been the best I've dealt with.....but still junk.....I'd much rather put in a stand alone tank...then let the wall hung take care of it.

Mikey pipes probably pays his guys more money than some douche bag in Minnesota that pays his guys barely enough to survive. What I can't get is why my boss was the highest in town because his quality standards were very high. He required us to make it look like artwork or something out of a catalog. I took pride in that quality of service. I leveled off everything and made each conduit or romex run look perfect. We did that and people would pay for that extra quality but he would pay his guys crap. I would have stayed in the trades and not try to better my life being ripped off by some bunk business venture that left me poor, broke, and hungry to working in retail making more than I ever did as an electrician.
