They actually add things with each game to make things at least a little different but having a "bad" game every so often in FF's doesn't mean the whole series should end. It still has moments of ups and moments of downs just like any other series.

***** Well, I've played a lot of Dynasty Warriors, so I'll just state why I followed it based on Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends. One of the most overlooked parts of the series is definitely story. The series is based on one of China's most turbulent times, and majority of the characters you play were real people, and the same goes for majority of the battles you fight in. It's interesting to see how some characters or battles are portrayed if you know your history. Comparing how the developers made the character with their nature in actual history or in the source material (Romance of the Three Kingdoms) usually makes it more interesting to see how a character behaves similarly or differently. Throughout battle, there are also conversations between different characters, so it's also a bit interesting to find those as well. Conversations between characters during and outside of battle as well as the melding from cutscenes to direct battle feel a bit amazing, and there are a lot of them. What I especially like the most with the story is how each of the major kingdoms is not inherently wrong in its beliefs rather than your standard "good guy, bad guy" story. At its core, Dynasty Warriors' story isn't a group of people fighting evil or anything like that; it's just a lot of people fighting for that which they believe in. The people who complain about the gameplay have probably never even touched the game's encyclopedia. Dynasty Warriors 8 lacks a lot of the "repetitiveness" in the story and gameplay compared to previous titles since it has lots of different scenarios for you to choose from, and introduces aspects such as star requirements, weapon swap system and the three point system (I'll explain each as briefly as I can). A star requirement forces you to complete objective/s within a stage, and doing so will affect the storyline like preventing character deaths or unlocking new stages. As history cannot change; the new hypothetical routes and stages you unlock brought a lot of new story potential. This also hasn't counted being able to play on the enemy's side on some stages that you've already completed. The weapon swap system allows you to equip a secondary weapon to go with your primary weapon. Each character (of the 70+ cast) has their own, unique moveset based on a different weapon, called EX weapons. A character equipped with the EX weapon can perform EX attacks which are exclusive to them, while they're using the EX weapon. The three point system is basically a tripartite division of weapon affinities. Each affinity has a disadvantage to another type (You take more damage, and opponents flinch less) and an advantage against another. While you can have both weapons of the same affinity, most advanced players like the flexibility of having two different affinities per battle. There's also the maximization and searching of weapons. Each weapon has 6 levels, which can be found by defeating officers based on the level of difficulty. The higher the level, the stronger weapon you'll find, but the special 5th and 6th weapons require you to use a specific character in a specific stage, finish the special set of tasks and play in the harder difficulties in order to receive the weapon, and can't be obtained any other way. Each weapon has different attributes that give you extra utility when playing, and you can fuse weapons with these stats, giving you a lot of experimentation to do. Technically, you can do the same thing, but because you can do it in so many different scenarios, and with different possibilities, it feels different in efficiency (Mashing in higher difficulties is obvious suicide, and these guys clearly never played Dynasty Warriors properly). Unlike something like God of War where you just upgrade weapon to get better abilities/power (period), Dynasty Warriors 8 has lots of randomized, non-permanent stats that can be upgraded or switched out for other stats. The only time I'd say that the game begins becoming repetitive is when you've maximized the weapons, but then any game where the player has already done and maximized everything is repetitive.

Honestly I agree with you about the KOH&FF series they are pretty good I mean tbh KH3 is one of the most waited for games right now amongst PlayStation fans.

Crucillus Thorn A lot of the problems with CoD being so derivative could be avoided if they make a game that is NOT set in World War II or the modern day. There aren't a whole lot based on World War I (besides flight sims and rts titles), and I can't think of even ONE game based on the Korean War that ISN'T a flight sim (then again the ground war in Korea was basically "World War II Part 2: Electric Boogaloo" so this is understandable). Vietnam...well they already did that with Black Ops.

I don't know about Pokemon as a franchise that needs to die. I mean, I'll be the first to agree that the games have gotten really stale over the years with the only new things being new locations and Pokemon (pretty much the equivalent complaint about CoD being the same game with new guns and maps). But if I were to say that the franchise needs to die, it would be with the same feeling that these guys gave with Final Fantasy. There's still a lot of life and potential in the series, but the developers just don't seem to be using it. I mean, the make-your-own-Pokeballs and day/night cycle concepts in Gold/Silver and the secret hide-outs in Ruby/Sapphire are great examples of fun new features the Pokemon games came out with then just pretty much dropped in later games. There are so many things that the franchise can do, and that's just with the core games. What about the spin-offs? Why doesn't Nintendo commission a Pokemon Snap remake/sequel for the Wii U? Is the Wii U gamepad not the perfect setup for a camera-based game? Or even a Hey You, Pikachu remake? Even the 3DS is way more powerful than the N64 and has a built-in microphone, not to mention voice recognition has come a long way in the past 13 years. But if Nintendo isn't willing to innovate the franchise more than just new generations of Pokemon, then I would rather see it just quietly slip away then go down in a blazing fireball.

Abion47 Final Fantasy I could agree with especially with the focus they've put on the XIII trilogy, but who knows XV could breathe new life into the Final Fantasy franchise and heck allot of people seem to think that XIV is a good MMO. As for Pokemon I have to disagree, X and Y has done much to bring the franchise forward; the new fairy type has added a much needed balance to the types match up by bringing the Dragon type down a notch or two, Mega Evolutions allows for a player at a disadvantage to suddenly gain the advantage in both a boost in power and type change, super training and Pokemon Amie add an easier more accessible way of boosting states outside of battling along with adding a new entertainment feature for the younger more casual players. Wander trade, 3D graphics and better EV/IV training/breeding are also welcome improvements/additions. Oh and hoard and sky battles are cool too, along with starting out with running shoes, which makes movement less of drag at the beginning and later on the roller skates as another option to faster travel alongside the bike.

I didn't know CoD made xbox one and ps4 better at rpg games, action games, driving games and adventure games?!, CoD really made those consoles and it's games sooo much better, you learn something new every day -_- oh wait I don't lol it improved the gameplay of the FPS genre on next gen consoles and later series but frankly they have done it so much it's gotten boring and although the online is fun (and the stories horse crap except BO2) with terrible connection issues in competitive online games and the fact they never really change much other than taking one existing gun away and replacing it for another, I'm surprised people aren't killing themselves out of boredom of playing the exact same game, heck the only truly good CoD game online was modern warfare one, where if you ran around like a psycho you were dead and bullets actually hit the opponent when the sights were on them rather than pass through them because they apparently don't actually exist on their screen so my bullets don't count, it was a fun game at first but all in all it was a failure in the long run with nothing new or fun to it, I was surprised at BO2 though, excellent story and setting, nice change. Mario is the most iconic video game franchise of all time. It's downright impossible to kill off such a successful series. Though I will say that there're been WAAAY too many Mario games lately & Nintendo should focus more on their other franchises like StarFox, Metroid, Kirby, F-Zero & Zelda, and focus less on Mario.

The fact Mario has been around so long makes it a classic and the idea that it could ever die in a million years is too painful for many people. Still, Mario has gone way overboard at times and I agree with that.

Too popular a thing to insult they would lose their fanbase almost entirely but I agree it is an overdone as heck game and all they ever really did was improve the graphics and add some skill's to it, (which should have been done years before they did do it) the game play's terribly and you end up having to buy a copy of the new game just so you have the players who are on the team that year, where as if someone really wanted to they could monopolise the franchise by making the best looking football game out there (looking at it now and it's lack of content that wouldn't be hard) and just adding actual real life team updates, they wouldn't be able to compete, let's buy this new fifa so we can play using the players in arsenal this year!!...oh wait we don't have to this great looking football game's already done it for me, add some purchase functions and extra game types like in the old days (used to be able to play as a team of mascot's and that was OLLLLD games too) and you would make a killing.....dunno why I rambled on like this but still I reckon I'm right lol. Halo 4 was trying to make Halo slightly more similar to CoD, not a whole lot more, but it still crippled the game, having the least satisfying shooting of the entire series, the worst designed maps (well, except for Bloodgulch and the maps that replicate it) in the multiplayer of the series, and had an incredibly short campaign which is saying something because Halo campaigns have never been that long before.

GTA Online can be pretty fun if you play it with the right people, especially your friends. I have hours upon hours i that, and I loved it, especially the glitches to fuck around with people.(One time went out of the skybox driving into a fence with a buddy in a firetruck, fell for a good minute or 2.)

Cloud Leonhart I don't agree. Awful pacing throughout, poor character development, and an overall incoherent mess. The story didn't get interesting until the last act, and even then, it wasn't that good. I also play RPGs for the story, which is why FFXIII was such a poor game in my eyes.

It would be one thing if they were all the same genre, but they aren't, there are a ton of separate Mario series games and spinoffs, many of which have been going on since the 80s and early 90s. I really don't see an issue with Mario.

well the fight does not end with the Flood, in fact the flood were a construct of an ancient alien race that went extinct due to the forerunners so actually continuing the fight that the forerunners were doing and to get back on top as the top species that was destined for greatness as it was, but everyone gets jealous of humanities birthrights and we get wiped almost to extinction as well. The flood was a way to set everything back to normal, as the flood can not survive without things to infect and will kill everything down to a base line resetting the galactic playing field so that new life could be formed since it was made stagnate by the forerunners. So the fight is ongoing until complete dominance (its better than a 100+ word write up as story-lines go..) but don't get me wrong i really have no idea what the hell they are doing in the next game or the one after that, and if there will be a further installment (unlikely) but i kinda wanna see where it goes in Halo 5 and if i am not cool with the direction i will jump on the band wagon of hey this needs to die so we are left with it as a classic instead of a walking hollowed out corpse of what it used to be. As i can just as easily just read the books and not give a crap about them not continuing the games.

More repetitive than Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy, for sure...but I love all four and will continue buying all four. I've heard as much complaint about the new marios not holding up to their roots as the teen and sequel final fantasies. It's pretty clear that Screw Attack is formed of people who like fast-paced and casual games, however (not just this vid!), and care little for immersion or story. Their preference, but it makes for some biased videos (then again, what do we expect on KZfaq?)
