ANSI Lumens VS Lumens
The difference between lumen and ANSI lumen is that ANSI lumen is standardized by the American National Standards Institute and is more specific and accurate than the lumen which is standardized by the International System of Units.
Methods for measuring ANSI lumen projectors: The light output of the projector is recorded at nine points around the screen and its average is calculated.
The product of the average value with the area of the screen gives the brightness of the projector in the ANSI lumens. Keep in mind that the specification of the ANSI lumen measurement does not depend on the size of the image on the projector.

For Philips new ultra small short range Projektor Screeneo U4 - Is 1800 ansi lumen considered as good? Never had any projection earlier so might go for one now. Looks like it will only cost around $600 (but then you need white screen and a speakers system in top of that). I love it mainly that you can project 80" with the proj. just 14"-"15 (35 cm) from the wall and "120 from 55 cm.

this is the first video comparing projector lights side by side. Yes, ANSI is the true lumens as its the lumens measured 1.5mtr from projector lens. LED projector lumens is the bulb lumens power and not the lumens falling on the wall as almost all of the light is eaten by the lcd screen. I have Epson X05 and I know it has 3LCD technology means all the colors are 3300ANSI lumens which is unmatched by any other projector technology. Some LED projectors have very gigh contrast ratio like from LG but those are very expensive 50K-150K INR price.

Ambient light means not room's light, but the natural light comes from sun. Think, if you are operating the projector in night in the room vs day in the room.............. the room is same but performance is affected by day or night............ so it is sun's light, the natural light.

Sir! I am impressed of you. Kindly remove my confusion. You told 2100 lumens are equal to 180 ANSI lumens it means 2100÷180=11.666 whereas you further briefed that 390 ANSI are equal to 3300 lumens i.e 3300÷390=8.461. Can you clear that how munch lumens are equal to 600 ANSI lumens?

Note 2 things in this video - ANSI lumens are the true lumens even a 1000ANSI lumens projectoe will be sifficient in dark room. See how Epson projector is giving good colors but the led projects have bluish layer because they emit blue light which is not good for eyes.
