GT or giant trevally are a big target fish in Australia the number 1 way people target GT are rooster poppers. They are thick in North Queensland and they will fight 10 times harder than any bass. Also debatably best place for fishing in Australia is the kimberlys in WA in this extremely calm water you can catch burrumumdi all the way up to queenies and GT.

If you guys want to have good shots at catching Giant Trevally, I would highly recommend booking a trip to St. Brandons atoll. St. Brandons atoll is an island with huge flats in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Its part of the Seychelles. This atoll also holds the biggest Bonefish in the world. Along with that you have the chance of catching Indo-Pacific Permit, Yellow Lipped Emperor, Bluefin Trevally, and a host of other flats feeding species. If you want to see what an Ecosystem looks like which has been completely untouched by man then this is definitely a trip you should look into. I first heard about this place while watching a fly fishing DVD. The title of the film is called "WAYPOINTS." I'd highly recommend looking into getting that DVD and watching it because there are some pretty cool places they go to into this film and I think you'd guys would like it!

I'm in Southern WI. I go up to Minnetonka every late fall to spend 3 days casting and trolling for skis. They get huge in that lake. I know some of the hot spots and where the DNR unloads the fry during restock.

GTs are one of the meanest fish you'll ever fight. They are smart, strong and fights dirty. If you have a weak link on your tackle, they will find it.The gears are really expensive too. Hawaii is a great place for GTs. Kiribati will be a dream come true.I've never been to both though. Australia will be a more all round location. You guys might want to consider Australia.

I bought a zebco sock demon push button rod then I put a bait caster on the mini rod don’t worry about the rod breaking I tied mine in a knot if you would I think that would be a great challenge I did it the only prob I had was setting the hook to set the hook jump up and set the hook at same time plz do that challenge it would be entertaining

Definitely do Australia. Can tick off GTs here too. GTs pull stupidly hard. Very fun on surface lures. My favourite thing at the moment though is getting spanish mackerel (which are like your king mackerel but bigger) on topwater. Have had them jump 4+ metres into the air. Also, Murray cod grow bigger than barramundi but are much harder to catch.
