When Klopp left I was gutted. I felt better when Hughes and Edwards returned and Slot came in. I actually began to feel optimistic. That's pretty much gone now, with the annual pursuit of yet another left winger when other positions should be a priority. We are becoming the equivalent of the used car club for left wingers.

Now he's back but he's in charge of footballing operations for FSG, it's reportedly to be in charge of building FSG's multi club system and hiring people to put in important positions at the clubs, he's the one who hired Hughes, the new sporting director, from Bournemouth this summer.

Gordon’s a cracking player, but defensive reinforcements need to be prioritised. IMO, a left-footed centre-back who can play as a left-back should be a priority. And, although I do like Bajcetic and Morton, we also probably need a 6.

Totally agree we definitely need the defence sorted, and I’d love us to get a good number 6 in , as that’s a position we have struggled since we had Fabinho there when he was doing his magic, so I hope we get another dm especially if we don’t buy any defenders as least we can get a good dm and give us that added bit of help to our defence

Just a question .. if you are saying you have heard whispers that FSG will make a staement signing this year.. possibly break their transfer record do you really want that to be Gordon?? To me that would be such an underwhelming signing. We broke the bank for VVD and you can see the impact he has had.. Allison was expensive and worth every pound.. I just dont see Gordon as the player to take the world by storm..

Newcastle are in at 58.08 million on Antony Garden INCLUDEING Transfer fee and salary since transfer to Newcastle, Newcastle need to raise 30 million to be in PSR so if i were liverpool i would offer them 89 million that will pay them back for all they put in and raise an extra 30 million on top for PSR

First of all, my Liverpool brothers. No offence. I love Anthony and this will continue to be my stand. He is a Liverpool lad. He is the future England star and mark my words, he is worth every penny. Even if a swap with Diaz, I would gladly accept it. U hardly see any home grown plays like him these days. I will be receiving a lot of hate for this but I love Anthony to the extent that I am even willing to accept a direct swap deal for Quansah. Rare gem. Go on Anthony Gordon !

Can’t see this. Obviously only interest if the price is right and valuation will be so far between. Newcastle value Gordon’s sale at £100m and will likely value Kelleher at only £20-25m. So maybe £70m and player but surely that only happens if Lfc know Diaz is leaving. Still all seems madness and it’s rushed because Newcastle need to meet financial fair play. It’s a bum deal for Liverpool unless it’s much much cheaper. If I was Newcastle I’d just accept the fine and 6pts.

It's a bit of a stretch saying the comments were nasty. I only saw one which wasn't nice. Most of the comments were fairly reasonable, didn't actually deny what you said. They just said he isn't worth £100m. And I think that's right. For £100m you either are the best, or on the way to being that. Saying he is maybe the best English player or that he is Scouse isn't good enough. A £100m winger should be at a level where we are having debates about Vinicius Jnr and that £100m player.

He is not worth £100 milion, not even £70. Why buy him at all when there are (even if Diaz leaves) two players on that position, that’s just insane business. Go out and invest that money on a central defender, left back or a second DM. The fact that it is thanks to FSG that Liverpool FC have £173 milion to spend and are in the good position that they are in, but I never hear anything about that.

Honesty I'm not sure gordon is right for us. He suits a counter attacking style. Our academy let him go and ok he got much bettet but do we real want to do what united and cheksea did with pogba and Lukaku? All these free kicks he wins won't happem in a liverpool shirt, he'll get thrown about barged and tripped like Salah does and it will be play on while He remains on the ground and the opposition breaks and we're basically a man down. We have Gakpo, we have Nunez, Jota and at the moment still have Diaz. We need cb number cdm lb more than anything and these shouod be priority
