State of euphoria was an amazing album, I don’t understand why some people backlashes against that album. It’s actually my second favorite anthrax album. And For all kings is insane, best anthrax album in years. Anthrax is amazing

Persistence of Time is awesome and complex much like ...And Justice for All, but I like State of Euphoria even more. I hate that it's their least favorite album other than Fistful of Metal. SoE is so fun, heavy, fast, and thoughtful like Among the Living. I need a new Anthrax album regardless. They have so many great albums.

Joey Era albums were pure fun and thrash. John Era albums were emotional and raw. POT is the album that really embodies both sides and that's why it's my favorite anthrax album.

Was never the greatest fan of state of euphoria. But persistence... God that album is fukn amazing. Anthrax, on your next headlining tour maybe for the 25th anniversary of this record next year, you should play that album in its entirety like you did with among in 2013. Malevolents will open for you! Lol

I love persistence of time. Great album. I do remember being somewhat disappointed with Euphoria, because it had more "fun" songs on it, but nah, it's fantastic! I was a serious fuck about my thrash when it came out. I fucking love it now. I love all Anthrax, really guys, just do what you do and it will be A-okay!

It's too bad that State of Euphoria got so much backlash when it came out, it might just be my favorite Anthrax album, it's definitely in my top 3 next to Spreading the Disease and Among the Living.
@waitindelaney
@waitindelaney 6 жыл бұрын
I like Spreading the Disease. It has a really pure heavy metal sound to it. State of Euphoria has good songs but lousy production. The guitar is almost inaudible. It sounds like Dan Spitz did kind of a half-assed job at playing lead, and then covered it up with a bunch of effects

Inquiry: How well did that album do in ratings as compared to the one before it and after it. It seems to me that it did not do as well as they would have liked not that I am trying to rate things because the subject matter is different from album to album and I lost track of the band after awhile because I got into other things and Charlie and Scott look a bit bothered by the subject matter as I am looking at their eyes when they are speaking. In some instances they are brilliant though.

Charlie got the nail on the head, twice! Firstly, Euphoria, I just couldn't deal with it and the matching Life's A Beach Surfwear! I'm from Oceaside California where they made that Life's A Beach Shit, it was all over, in High School ugh! It was too happy and trendy! I give them a pass cause they're from New York! Secondly) the business side, if you're not ready for it there's 100 greedy monsters that will make a run on the music. They always had Megaforce, even though distribution was major label but Charlie Z was good with that and Anthrax. Totally agree the POT sounded more of a follow up to ATL!

I think NO previous record of Anthrax sounded like SOWN . Persistence of time had their tipical 80´s Melodic Thrash Sound . This is my opinion .

State of Euphoria, in my opinion, fell in between the best two Anthrax albums. I like the general vibe and vitality to SOE, but I think that especially on the first half of the album, some of those songs sort of ran into each other and sounded too similar. The band always laments not spending more time on the album, and improving the songs. If there had been a few more songs on par with Be All, End All and Now It's Dark, all would've been forgiven in terms of the band's dress style at the time. They stood in contrast to almost every other metal band of the era, and while I bet they would've reigned it in a bit anyway, I think their style became conflated with a subpar album.
