Just saw these guys open for Metallica in LA. Pantera will never be what it was with Dime and Vinnie, but Zakk and Charlie did serious justice for the brothers. You couldn't ask for two better fill-ins for a special reunion. They were incredible.

I agree wholeheartedly with Phil. It would have been an absolute nightmare for even the most experienced and reputable bands to take the stage after Pantera in their prime. They were relatively unknown during the show in Moscow, but it’s one of the most intense and incredible performance I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t there, so thank god it was recorded. I could never get tired of watching that set. It makes me feel like I could slam my head through a cinderblock wall.

I had the IMMENSE pleasure of seeing Pantera smoke one of those huge bands at Glasgow Barrowlands, namely Megadeth. They SHREDDED the place that night and to be fair Megadeth stepped up that night too, it was an all round amazing night. Scotland definitely did NOT hate Pantera, I think they were as stunned by their reception as we were by them. Phil told us that night that they were totally blown away that we were the best crowd they'd ever seen, which most bands say to every crowd every night of course, but Phil fuckin MEANT it. I think it was late Nov 92 and they told us "We WILLbe back here guys and it WILL be soon!" Well, within a month they announced their own headline show in Glasgow in early Feb 93. Amazingly they were even BETTER second time round.

The first song I heard from PanterA was “Fucking Hostile” extremely loud in a car. Instantly became a fan for life. I couldn’t believe how every song from Vulgar Display was just as awesome 🤘🏻 I still get goosebumps today listening to the album 👊🏻

I’m 21 and honestly heavy metal for me is the epitome of music, the amount of work that goes in these albums not just from pantera, but Metallica, megadeth, slayer etc… sometimes I feel like I’m the only person my age that actually dives really deep into the genre, I know I’m not but sometimes it feels like that, I find my myself liking every type of metal genre, I don’t discriminate with any type of genre, whether it’s punk, metalcore, heavy metal, death metal, thrash I love every genre

I get a warm feeling in my being when I see these guys and think of this band and those 15 or so years they ruled. Never will there be a powerhouse like Pantera.

I saw Pantera live with Megadeth and Skid Row at Alpine Valley WI. I never saw or have ever seen again the energy Pantera brought at that concert. Those of you that were there know what I am talking about!! FUCKING EPIC!!!!! I was blown away!!! Forever etched in my mind. Blessed to have that experience. It’s how music is supposed to be played

I was there for all of it, and it was FUCKING EPIC!!! Best metal band EVER. It's so cool seeing kids today wearing Pantera tshirts... That's a statement about the power of a band.. when it transcends time... And their stuff still sounds fresh... That is something that only a few bands can do... Zeppelin, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, early Metallica... That's a pretty elite club to be in. R.I.P. Vin and Dime.

So glad i was born at the right time to be a teenager when Pantera broke out and was able to grow up with them... seen them open for Skid Row in early 92 (which i went to strictly to see Pantera) and 8 times after that (including a month ago on the new tour), got to meet them at a record signing for FBD and theyve had a gigantic role in my life ever since... 🤘

Had the privilege and honor of seeing these guys on this tour, in November of 1992, at the Wilson theater in Fresno, California. Only my second concert ever by that point, just behind Metallica, but probably one of my top 3 concerts ever attended. Like other comments on this log, Pantera was the band of the times, during my adolescent to my young adult years, and they truly were one of a kind. I feel truly blessed to have lived through the 90s while experiencing this group's timeless contribution to the metal scene and the culture, in general. This is still my favorite Pantera album, along with Great Southern Trendkill, and definitely deserves its glory and recognition, as possibly one of the greatest metal albums of all time.

Last time I saw Pantera was 7-13-96. It was the night Phil OD'd after the show. I believe White Zombie opened. The reason I remember so well, It was my 20th birthday.

Saw them for the 1st time on the CFH tour open up for Suicidal and Exodus in Chicago at the Riviera. It was a game changer bc Dime never stopped smiling and having fun. That left a mark on me that no matter what you do enjoy what you do. The Abbott Brothers enjoyed what they did for sure and they are missed by millions. Every day. We are thankful for our time with them.

Phil hasn’t aged since ‘92. That aside - Vulgar Display of Power was, and still is, one of the greatest metal albums of all time. Mouth for War and This Love are amazing.

Loved Pantera since I was very young back in the 90s, and they´re one of the few bands in my opinion that haven´t made a single bad song. Very rare for a band to be able to do that. (CFH and up)

I don't even remember how or why I bought the Vulger CD, but I'll never forget getting home and putting it on and as soon as Mouth For War kicked in, I was immediately hooked and so blown away by the production. I played it nonstop for months and saw them on that tour in Toronto with Sacred Reich opening. I never head banged at concerts, but that one I couldn't help it. It was mandatory. Pantera ruled the world.

I’m pretty sure that when I 1st heard this album on a cassette in my car.. I through a cheesy heavy metal tape out of my car window. I was into pantera and Seattle sounds. My whole outlook was.. I found my new joy in music. Thanks Pantera! 90s forever

I have issues with Anselmo these days, but back in March or April of 1992 (it was near the end of the my senior year in high school) going into Peaches Music and they were playing that album. My ears perked right up and I asked the cashier "What in the world is that?" "Ummm... New Pantera." was her response. I had heard Cemetery Gates before and really liked it but nothing could have prepared me for what I was hearing that day. The CD was sold out and they only had cassettes and I bought one right then and there. Eventually picked up the CD a few weeks later when I wore the tape out. People compare it to Reign in Blood but it's so much more than that. I was never that blown away by Reign to be honest with you. The first and the last tracks are great but that's about it. (I'm actually one of the rare few people to think South of Heaven is better album) Everything on Guitar killed. The production, THAT guitar sound, the vocals, the grooves, the riffs, everything. That spring & summer saw new releases from Megadeth, Testament, Iron Maiden, Exodus , Warrior Soul, Black Sabbath (Dehumanizer which is still my favorite Black Sabbath album) but Vulgar buried all of them.

As a punk, Vulger is one of the few metal albums I own! Superb.

Sophomore in college, 1994. Had been looking for something in music different and a friend played Vulgar Display of Power on a long road trip. It was perfect. Then when Far Beyond Driven came out and it was turned up another notch! Great stuff.

Bought the album on cassette when it was released. Definitely one of the greatest metal records of all time. Lost count of the amount of times I got whiplash head banging 🤘

I’m 42. Vulgar Display of Power was the very first compact disc I purchased after I got my new sony CD player. I love the album as much today as when I was 11. Seen Pantera, Down, Rebel to Rebel, Superjoint Ritual many times live.

Huge influence on me as a young guy playing metal music. Still and will forever have my Washburn Dimebag Darrell signature series guitar I bought at 14. Best show I saw them at was when they toured with Sepultura. CRAZIEST pit I've ever been in.

I saw Pantera at Prince's favorite small venue (1st. Avenue) in Minneapolis back in the early 90's. I didn't know who they were, and it was one of the best shows I have ever experienced. They came back with White Zombie a few years later to a bigger venue, and that was my favorite concert experience of all time. They put on a pretty good show. Thanks for the memories.

You just named my 3 favorite guitarist. I started listening to metal when I was just 2 1/2. My Aunt turned me onto it. I was born the same year as Dime. When I was 5 my Mom told me she was taking me to National Record Mart to pick out my first album. I chose Black Sabbath's Paranoid. Van Halen was the next band I was blown away by and I loved. Diary of a madman and of course Randy Rhoads. I found a guitar in my Grandparents basement and my Mom took me to guitar lessons. No other band blew me away until Pantera. I've still yet to find a better band to this day. I don't think anyone can top them. I highly doubt I will see it in my lifetime.

I was 20 yrs. old n it changed my life, much like the discovery of metal when I was 14. Metal saved my life, I was sooo angry, full of angst n babybatter. It was so incredibly liberating I wept wth gratitude to know I wasn't alone and bein' a percussionist n all around musician, Darryl's riffs and Phil's effortless metal voice ( although asea at times) was incredible. Phil, Rex, Zakk &co, you guys changed my life growing up as a young aspiring musician, a d I want to send my deepest condolences for the loss of the two legends Dime and Vinnie Paul....I can only begin to imagine the sadness you carry in your hearts for losing your brothers in metallic arms...Phil as far as I'm concerned you will always be the toughest frontman metal has ever seen, no matter how tough life may get remind yourself you can man and you changed the face of metal with your powerful voice that is indeed a Vulgar Display Of Power, and Dime did things that were impossible to do on his axe Eva will continue to inspire future generations of guitarists abr may his name and memory live in forever! I'm a metal guitarist myself of 30 years and still go hard and strong but I pale in the shade to Dimes absolute metal genius...Rex, you are worthy of a mention too for your powerful bottom end that worked perfectly with Vinnie to create powerful groove and insane rhythm section for dime to shine doing what he did best!! I vote the surviving members of Pantera be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame for your input and influence into metal which changed the essence of music for so many people still to.thiw day...may your lives be long and prosperous Phil and Rex, and may the memories of those you have lost be remembered as two of the best metalheads whoever lived!! Vulgar is still on high rotation in my playlist, and Hollow is my favourite off the album, even though there are so many golden masterpieces on it, mainly because the theme hits that spot in my heart that laments with Phil's lyrics and the way Dime wails the whole way through it with technical precision and speed, a classic of the ages from one of the best mwtal album of all time...well done boys!! I'll never forget being 10 years old in eastern europe and my dad bringing a Pantera collection CD and a Sepultura best of CD. Old man comes in crazy excited and was like "Wanna hear the best music ever?" And we jammed for hours as he was explaining who was who, who was playing guitar, singing and so on... good fkn times.Never stopped listening after that, this music get you through both some tough moments and the best moments in life. Even ordered a damn guitar last week😂 🤘🤘🤘

4:51 My dad told me once about the time he went and saw Pantera at a festival (in Britain) and they finished their session with "This Love" and the crowd went NUTS. Long story short, Extreme went on after them and played "More than words" and everyone started starting cursing him and booing him. Makes me smile to this day, I'd do anything to even just be alive in the Pantera era. Rest in peace Vince and Dime ❤

I met Vinnie in 2017 when I was at my favorite little outdoor tiki bar in the middle of a sunny afternoon. A group of guys came in and sat along the bar and I look next to me and I thought to myself, wow this guy is really going for the Vinnie Paul look. Then I see the rest of the guys and they look kinda rock n roll too. I looked it up on my phone and realized Hell Yeah was playing that night. So I ended up having crab legs with Vinnie Paul and Hell Yeah that day. And if anyone is wondering if he was really as nice as he seemed in interviews, the answer is hell yeah. Before they left I told Vinnie “I just want you to know, back in the day all I was listening to was hip hop and then I heard Pantera and it changed everything.” He was like man that’s one of the coolest things a fan has ever said to me. RIP Abbott brothers.

I remember Dimebag we saw Damage plan with Arch Enemy and Chimaria at the house of blues very small venue which kicked ass because you were right up front. And Dime was pouring shots of Jager Meister down fans throats while doing a guitar solo. Fucking awesome!

Such a HUGE record at that time, glam had peaked and alternative and rap were starting to rule. Other than Headbanger's Ball there wasn't much air play, if any at all. By the end of this albums run Pantera was the king of metal, fu¢king happy I lived through that 🤘 LORDS UNMATCHED!

Hollow is literally perfect. Perfectly sung, played, edited, produced.....It is the perfect song and sits right next to The Gallows Pole by Zep.

I dove head first into metal and this was the band that met me. CFH was the intro, but VDoP is the pinnacle. There's never going to be a more pure metal band and that's just the way it is. Pantera was (and still is) THE band which every metal band hopes to be. I'm just glad I was there when it happened. 🤘😖🤘

I saw the CFW and VDOP tours in Toronto. The Band was on fire. Saw them on the current tour also. I thought it was really good-very respectful.

I met Vinnie at the first Uproar tour. He was one of those people who passed his happiness on to people he interacted with, especially for empaths. He was genuine. He gave every hung, handshake, and autograph, and was so glad to do so. I hope he and Dime are looking down and glad that Phil and Rex are continuing the name and legacy. I wished it had happened with the Abbott boys still with us

I'm a big pantera fan but Vulgar is like the last album I like honestly. New level, hollow, and mouth for war are the only songs I really listen to. IMO The Great Southern Trendkill and Far Beyond Driven are the heaviest and all around good songs and personally my favorites.

My big brother was a huge Pantera fan, He had the CFH tattooed in a old english like script on the left side of his head right above his ear. Sadly he died in a car accident on his 21st birthday in 1997. I was at school when i found out and i just remember losing it, it was one of the hardest days of my life.
