Trying to catch up with your posts as I discovered your channel a bit late. I love you doing you! Your vulnerability and genuineness is refreshing. I experienced drugs on the trail for the first time while hiking Trey Mt. I joke and say the reason Trey didn’t seem so difficult to me was because the hiker ahead of me was smoking pot the entire ascent! Keep on doing you!❤

When you walk through all the greenery with overhanging trees, it’s referred to as “the green tunnel” on the AT.

I was watching Stick the Eagle’s channel and he had a tip for annoying bugs on the trail. When you silver blaze leave the webs hanging from your hat brim and it keeps the bugs away. Not sure I could do that as I hate getting the webs all over me but I also hate the gnats and black flies. 🤔

I wonder why people aare so judgemental about other peoples hikes. Hike how you want to hike. Anyone with a negative comment can just hold it inside until they explode. If I ever get a chance to hike the AT I plan on staying in as many hostels as humanly possible lol

Trekking poles are also spiderweb grabbers. Funny, there was a hiker last yr named Rose, trail name: CobWebRose - obvious why.😂 But, she was the slowest in her tramily & so started earliest everyday & she was short so lost of webs still got the tallest over 6’ of her tramily.

My son is 60 days sober. As his mother it was really hard to see him in this addiction (alcohol) his roommate was way worse and I reached out and had a conversation with him. Both his parents passed within month of each other and sent him spiraling. I told him I knew his parents were watching from above and would not be happy where he was. I offered to be his standby mother and support him. He was so bad he needed medical help. They both have done it, with a couple relapses. Alcohol is worse addiction cause so readily available. Pot is now legal in NY and I’m not sure how I feel about

I sometimes get small blisters on my staff hand (I use a hiking staff), almost never on my feet. Interesting about the spider webs. I've been completely alone on the Camino many times (i.e. no other pilgrims, and I mean zero), and will be again later this year, and it's rare that I've had to walk through spider webs in the morning or whenever. I don't know if that's a difference between wilderness and rural/semi-rural/semi-wilderness, or if it's between American trails and European. Maybe spiders are more widespread in North America ?

I am beginning to think that Marijuana was made illegal because those who like to smoke it have little regard for people who don’t want to smell skunk all day. There are certainly less invasive ways to ingest the drug.
