During the build up of the Revolutionary War, a string of forts were constructed along the Ohio and Monongahela River Valleys to buffer eastern population settlements from attacks from newly created alliances made between the Shawnee and the British. Today we explore the patriot soldiers who faced the first shots of the Revolutionary War, and where they fell and the forts they manned, and we begin our dig to find what they lost. Fort Wetzel, Fort Nutter, Fort Prickett and Fort Coon were all constructed for this purpose.
