My take: 1. It’s not nice to crush things. 2: people who think that there is something that can replace a real piano, trumpet, guitar and even a turntable really don’t get it. Because you can’t. Apart from that, their latest creation, the Vision Pro is a cool machine, I guess, but it also leaves you wandering about if we are entering every time more and more a world where everything is virtual. Their answer:yes. They used to try to make things that integrate seamlessly into our life, now it feels like they are integrating our life into the iPad. So, instead of looking for a way for helping us not having our faces stuck in our screens they are like “ how about I put strap on that screen and have permanently stuck on your face. I’m just saying, this is the background to this commercial.

The fact that Piano holds more value in the right hands than that ipad itself is an irony. Guess what it does not need a software update to run or effectively. Good point too, tons of the things on that press had timeless value. That iPad will eventually be shipped to Guana or some other country we've turned into our rejected electronics dumping grounds, and tossed in a burn pit by some kid so he can harvest the copper and valuable materials. Honestly, I hate it too. Not in a sensitive/offended way. More in a disappointed in Apple way. It’s such a stray away from what Apple stood for - designing technology to enhance the human experience (see iPhone 5 “Music Everyday” ad from 2015). The messaging on this is so antithetical to Apple’s ideals. It’s pretty much saying who needs the human touch when an iPad can do it.

Honestly when I first heard there was a marketing campaign for their thinnest device being all about crushing/breaking things, I thought it was incredibly dumb because we all have experienced the hell that is trying to fix a broken iOS device, and there’s just no way this one, the most expensive ever with probably the most expensive repair costs, is going to be any different. Why they would want to highlight breaking things at ALL right at the release is is beyond me. Apple’s strategy over the last 2 years with its marketing and products has had me (and obviously many other investors) deeply questioning whether they actually can meet the AI moment in front of them. They just quite frankly aren’t innovating in a way that’s exciting consumers.
