Keeping the apple slices in water also helps prevent browning. I find it to be tricky packing them in water for a lunch box, but both ways work!

You can wash the apples if you like, but citric acid is safe and edible. If you're sensitive to avoid or deal with acid reflux, it's a good idea to wash them

I keep a small 2oz spray bottle of citric acid ready in fridge. Made with CA powder (very low cost) and distilled water. A quick spritz and my avocados never brown.

I simply dip the apples in salt water,,, and they don't turn brown,,, it that good ?

Do you know how long the apples will keep from turning brown. Can I cut them up on a Sunday, and pack them in lunch bags all week?

Usually, 3-4 days...so maybe till Wednesday or Thursday. The enemy to browning is air. So if you pack them in plastic bags and squeeze out as much air as possible, you'll get a longer time before them brown

I am salad maker, i am not chef its ordinary salad maker..i want to make other salad with apple.. but i am worrying turning brown because it will display from 8am to midnight..it is okay i am using 🍋 with water to prevent browning?

Yes lemon should work! And wrap the salad tightly to get rid of air.

Babeena_Gt _ You can still eat brown apple slices. If this happens to me, I'll usually trim off the brown part...or at least close my eyes!

Below is the only way I ever eat apples because I don't really like them that much but 2 Honey Crisp apples with some sharp cheese and crackers with Guldens' spicey mustard and a glass of chardonnay or chablis is my favorite lunch. But I am flexible on the variety of apple and the brand of crackers. I also seldom drink wine or eat cheddar cheese without the other 2 parts of my 3 piece ensemble. I always slice the apples into thin sections before I begin. This is my lunch 2-3 times a week. Or sometimes I eat this for dinner. I can usually buy 3 pound bags at the local supermarket which are less expensive than buying individual apples.
