I used the Apple Trade in program and this is my experience. If you have more than one device, you need to pick the most expensive one to do the trade in, and for the other ones you will get a gift card. You can trade in up 8 devices, please call the Apple store before going there. They will take 2 photos of your device (Front & Back) and they will process these photos with a special software (App) they have. Based on the condition of your device they will give you up to the amount they advertise, if your trade in device doesn't satisfy Apple's requirements, they will apply a discount to your trade in (You will get less money). You can't trade in a blacklisted device, they will always check the IMEI of your iPhone trade in to see the phone status. You can trade in a "carrier locked" phone, there is no problem with that, as long as is not blacklisted. You will need to provide a valid ID, and also your full name, phone number, full address, email and more per each traded in device. This process will take time, specially if you are transferring all your date to your new device.
