1. Don't ask someone on a date that you've barely talked to 2. Don't treat the other person like an object 3. Don't talk about the future when there is no past 4. Don't tell a Christian that you aren't looking for a non-serious relationship 5. No pick-up lines. Be authentic. 6. Don't bring up marriage with a person that you're not in a serious relationship with. 7. Don't talk about past exes with someone you like unless the time is appropriate. 8. Don't bring up someone you kind of like to someone else you kind of like of the opposite sex. 9. Keep what you feel God may have said about the other person to your heart. Good points! None of these have I ever done which is good, but I need to stay clear myself of points 3 and 5, like too many compliments even though I care to everyone in general, and not getting too excited of what hasn't happened yet, but could and most likely will in Jesus name!
@hukhay Жыл бұрын
Number 4 is "Don't tell a Christian that you are not looking for a serious relationship right now." A guy that I liked told me this... so obviously he is not interested in me or in developing a meaningful relationship, and I'm not going to spend energy, time and attachment on something that will go nowhere and at the same time will keep me unavailable for other options that might be serious. He has a wounderful heart and is a great guy, but I had to say no to the just friedns option.
@beanie_bae Жыл бұрын
@@hukhay Thank you for letting me know! You should only be looking for serious relationships... what's the point of dating if you aren't on the search for the one, which is who God has for you? That said, I agree with the last sentence you said. And you shouldn't if he told you he isn't interested. So good job 👍

I agree especially number 6.🙂😄 someone told me about marriage last year he ask where i place want to build a family someday he is Christian he said that he likes me but that gives me pressure to think then i ask to God to give me clarification and peace so i ask my family and my friends too then they said it's early think about it, you are still young and you didn't know each other yet and more! And one day i told him that i'm not ready to it even tho he is pursuing God than i do. God is great all the time when i ask Him. He gives what i need and i ask my self did i seek God first before this man? so that gives me hint that i need to seek God first and that's what my heart wants me to do! Wow. We did some of these things. Like the talking about our exes, we both talked about marriage and were comfortable with it and I mentioned liking some others, but I was just being completely transparent as it pertained to my past and current love interests and I was just being completely honest with him, cause I didn't want to hide certain things and enter a relationship without mentioning it. And he didn't have a problem with it, he respected my honesty and said it's the past and I've grown so it's ok😂😂, and we didn't have a problem with us talking marriage and our exes. We had recently just met and we talked about those things like 3 days after meeting each other, but we were set up by a friend that thought we'd be good together, so that may have made a difference in our communication and what we were comfortable with, I thinkit did. As u said ur views are subjective though and I do agree with all of them, but I just shared my side, yk. And it's a month and a day since we've known each other now and we're thinking of getting together now, so it depends on the person. But I think ur views are the safe and should be followed. Please pray for us. I asked God that your next video would guide me to knowing if I should date him now or wait, but I'm not sure if it answered it, I'll probably have to rewatch and ask again. But I'm asking for your prayers. And once again, thank you Mark. God bless you.

I didn't agree with him at all on not talking about marriage or putting it on a dating profile. We need to make it known we are talking with intentions to eventually marry if our values align, we can accept each other's flaws, compatible in our lifestyles/personality and feel God's approval on it. Even the exs that can be good to talk about as well maybe to let each other know what the last person did wrong so they know what you won't put up with.

I am confused on the part where you say that you shouldn't mention marriage at all in your dating profile. Wouldn't it be confusing if you walked into a grocery store and it was forbidden to tell the employees that you were looking for peanut butter? Wouldn't it be confusing if you drove your car to a mechanic and didn't tell them what was wrong with the car? What else are you supposed to do on a dating website than be upfront about what you're looking for? Obviously you can't have a serious talk about marriage in your first message, but it would seem kind of pointless to talk to people you might potentially want to marry if you don't know that they are interested in the same thing. I made dating profiles on several websites, including a Christian one, and my opening messages usually contained the points: 1. I want to get married. 2. I want to get to know you better. Mostly this approach only worked with foreign women. Are you sure this approach is not good because it is actually a bad idea, or does it only not work because our culture is degenerate? Personally I think if a woman will not answer frankly that she is open to being married sometime in the next couple years when a man approaches her on this subject, then she is not worthy of being married. In a similar way, if you are at the grocery store and can't find what you want, and then you reject an employee who offers to help you, then you do not deserve to have what you want.

Dating or finding a relationship requires a lot of money. If you know you're poor, is it the right thing to do by taking yourself out of searching for a partner on that reason alone? It's expensive and you don't want to lead that person on knowing it can't become serious due to the lack of finances. The purpose is to lead into marriage, then children can become involved and that will make them suffer more because of you. Is that the right thing to do since you don't want to lead the person on and have them suffer unnecessarily? I feel drained at times because of this thought.

The guy who is a dating my daughter does not have a lot of money. They are both in a stage in life (young adults) where they are not ready to marry, and just want to get to know each other on a friendship level. If they decide they want to take it to the next step, then likely not having a lot if money will be an issue. I think there are different ways this young man could position himself to be able to take care of her in a relatively short time, if they decide they want to marry. There are very good trades to get into which would allow him to take care of a wife. In about a years time he could learn a trade and make pretty decent income. I hope this scenario helps you think through your options.

@@KevvoLightswift that's exactly what I thought too. We were just getting to know each other and when I sent him a photo he said "sexy" which I immediately saw as a red flag. And like you say, it's okay if you're married to this person but when getting to know someone for the first time, it's not okay in my eyes.

@Laureen Mwangi You should really take your words back. With that kind of attitude I find it hard to believe that you're actually a true Christian.

Women are always in the better place, because when a man makes the first move to ask, he can be rejected. It's always easier to sit back and let them come to you first.

But would you really want a woman to pursue you? It's also a blessing to feel like a man by pursuing even if it does not work out

@@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger I thought since women today want to do everything, then why not let them do some pursuing? Sure part of being a man is to make the first move, but to be honest i wouldn't mind for once if they showed some interest first, instead of me always sticking my neck out.

If I may say about the rejection you fear...don't look at it as rejection. Its not personal. Look at it like You took a chance and keep taking chances. If someone doesn't take a chance with you that's something they will have to live with. One day they may see...Gee I should take more chances 😄

@Thor Odinson I'm not a coward, i'm an honest man. Just make sure you aren't a coward in trying to not want to do something a little different.

@@lisalee2885 It's not about fearing rejection, because i don't worry about that. It's just trying to make better choices, than just trying for the sake of it.

In short: Don't speak to a Christian single.

If a christian girl or boy is so goddamn perfect that you need to walk around on your toes, he/she ain't worth it. Don't play fake for anyone. Be yourself. Nuff said
