What if his words say no.. twice, and his actions say yes.. OFTEN.. he is still healing from the loss of his wife.. but it's like he is trying to step out but then maybe feels that attachment still.

Right! It is an art we have to learn and have to want to learn. Have you read the ART OF LOVING, by Erich Fromm ? Too, as a Christian isn't it our "job" to love in all situations? Our return does not necessarily come from where we place our love, but more so from the wonderful generation of Godly love within ourselves. Like a fruit tree that bears much fruit is a "happy tree." My Aunt who had a very successful school for pre-schooler's said, "the child who is the hardest to love needs your love the most". -john

My advice is : don't fall in love with anyone yet. If you already like someone, start to see this person with the rational glasses on, otherwise you'll get into the delusional side already. You'll be to able to decide to fall in love with your husband at the time you'll get married. At this point you'll be safe to give a piece of your heart to someone trustful. It's all a matter of decision. Be wise. May God help you and give peace to your heart 😊

I know myself as a happy, strong woman, reserved, sweet and gentle spirited . There is nothing that i dont know i am scared of except one thing and that is when i fall in love i ran away. Whenever i start to feel something good toward a guy i distant myself from being close to him and it destroys the friendship. I couldnt help it. And the feeling i have for the guy i keep it in secret deep in my heart not telling anyone except God. Praying for the right one a spirit-filled man, zealous for God with a heart like mine compassionate for people and passionate for the work of the Lord, willing to lay down his life for the sake of the heavenly call

Please pray for me and my children. Prayers are all we truly NEED. Jesus I still trust in you and will keep my faith even though it is so very difficult. I’m constantly faced with financial hardships and can barely support my children. I’m a single mom. With two children on the spectrum. I’m overwhelmed at times. My boys require a lot from me. I recently started homeschooling them due to bullying and other issues. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined because I suffer from heart disease. I had a massive heart attack a year and a half ago and I also have lupus. Since losing my job I’ve been struggling to support my children and myself. I’m now waitressing and I’m grateful but I’m not making nearly enough. JESUS HELP me. I’m CRYING OUT TO YOU. I’m tired of struggling. Struggling to buy groceries. Struggling to pay rent. It hasn’t been easy. Why me Lord? But I know God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. I know all things are possible through Jesus. I WILL KEEP FAITH. No matter how hard life gets. FAITH OVER FEAR!

Sister, please stay strong in faith. I'm a fellow single mum (not my doing) with two boys, one on the spectrum and I had to give up my work to home Ed. God blessed me with a business and clients that allow me to WFH...he will provide. I learnt to trust him more and more and he does come through. We don't live a grand lifestyle but we have food on the table, a roof over our head and just enough. God's looking out for us and love in our household. I'll be praying for you. Stay in the word and pray for some good believing friends for support. God will provide them. Well done for not giving in on the poison. People have been broken, herd, damaged and have lost faith in whatever purpose God have created for them, and i believe God uses people and their love for one another over a period, to show those who are broken and lost, what love is truly about, and once that person feels that love you are giving them, a seed of hope and restoration takes place, to place them back on track, for the original purpose God created them for, its all part of His master plan for your life, the bible says God have plans for our lives, and the reality is nothing is guaranteed, except for the promises of God, we are the vessels God uses, to bring about his love to this world.❤❤❤

This just made me feel so much better. My mother and brother make me feel like crap, and honestly mock me for being so close with God. Ive actually had to realize there will be no reconciliation. I love them so much and just always hurt. Im just happy to know that the love I feel is a gift from God. I cant even feel like dating because my life has fallen apart, and family has turned on me, but this encouraged me to stay strong in the season I am in, and thankful God has filled my heart with love that I cannot wait to actually give someone one day along with God. For now I just want to draw nearer with God, and praise him during these wonderful Shavuot Holy Days ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I used to think the reason was with me is why the Christian man I love doesn’t reciprocate my feelings, and so I had to do some soul-searching. It turns out that he is a dismissive avoidant. Now I just pray for him and I see him at church and he usually comes to me and wants to talk, and he walks me to my car. He definitely can’t be with me if he doesn’t pursue me, but with God all things are possible. I’m focusing on doing God’s will and serving Him as my priority.

I really needed to see this video today. Very sobering. Reason 2 - ‘God loves us and it is not always returned’. God sometimes allows this in our lives for us to reflect His glory in the situation. I imagine the same type of heartbreak we experience when love is not returned from someone we are interested in a relationship with, is what God experiences when we do not return His love. 😢. Reason 3. - Not guarding your heart.

It's option 3 for me! I made the conscious decision to love this person no matter what, and now I do, but it doesn't seem like we can be together and I was kind of stuck thinking I couldn't break this "promise". But what I can do is give the situation and give my heart back to God.

I've never been easily moved. Particularly in the romance department. And I'm typically attracted to strong character. So when I found myself in such a predicament, with someone whose character I was uncertain of, I was baffled. Thankfully, this is ancient history. And I'm grateful it didn't go anywhere. Despite these feelings, I thank God I never had intentions of entertaining a romantic relationship with them. I learned a valuable lesson about guarding my entire well-being, as much as my heart. They're absolutely related. Jesus said it best: "Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.". God taught me another valuable lesson through that experience, too: Regardless of whether it's a relationship, happiness, or Salvation, if someone doesn't appreciate or value what we're offering we must respect their decision. Even if it pains us (even if their choices make them desolate or hell-bound), if we truly love someone, we must respect their right to those choices. Sometimes, people must learn the hard way. I'm just grateful God gives us the capacity to learn, at all. It's the kind of mercy people don't really talk about. Sorry for rambling. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for bearing with me. Stay blessed, everyone. And I pray you find your God-ordained partner. 😊

I went 'no contact' with a man I cared about. Then I broke it to tell him everything that led to that point. He disrespected boundaries again and blamed it on alcohol. He seems to have issues with alcohol and admitted it. What we have in common are behaviors related to past trauma. I may be the only person who's confronted him about anything. The best thing for me is going 'no contact' again. I NEED to know God's will given the circumstances!

Great video, Mark. Points 2 & 4 really stand out for me. Every romantic interest, business relationship, classmate, friendship, ministry, and even choosing to have children carries a risk of caring deeply about people who won't care about you in the same way in return. Love anyway but stand in the grace of truth. Sometimes you will be called to be a light to a person who will probably realise long after the relationship has ended that nobody else carried a presence in their lives like you did. Hopefully they will know that that is because of the presence of God in your life and come to know Him. You can always end things amicably and respectfully. Avoid ghosting and stonewalling people because these passive-aggressive actions can burn bridges and leave you having to traverse a path of shame to repair what you damaged later on. Check your own inner struggles because admitting that you may be co-dependent, narcissistic or unstable is hard but attachment styles can cause havoc in a world of insensitive and unaware people.

Hey Mark, I came across this video you produced and I wanted to thank you for a very balanced teaching on this subject, I was very impressed with your level of gifting in this area. Speaking to believers about this topic is so very important, I believe the church has shied away from topics of this nature or even a healthy discussion about sex. My own son struggled for years and I never knew, it could have been avoided. I would never say the neglect of this within the Body of Christ is the cause of so many problems with gender identity issues and casual sex we see today, but it sure would help equip the saints for the work of ministry within their own lives, families and beyond to help address this in real life among the masses. Think I'll follow you and see what this is all about. Blessings.

I really need prayers right now. Me and my best friend clearly love each other but for some reason we both have this intrusive fear and doubt of trusting each other and it’s ruining our relationship. We want to grow closer to one another and walk in Christ together. God is not a God of such confusion, but we don’t know why this is happening. I love this man so much already, please pray that if it was really meant to be for us to work things out. I’m afraid that the enemy might be putting this fear into the relationship in spite of God. I believe this video summarizes everything about our situation. Please pray for us!

A hard part of this I deal with is the reactions from others. When I love others thru acts of kindness, caring, offering help; people will say I care too much, I worry too much, it's too dangerous and not proper for a man to do to a woman. That feedback really messes with me in all ways, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. I just want to do the will of God and be his image. Sad when fellow Christians ask/tell me to do things that seem to contradict because of experiences from what the world says instead of what God says. Also I still battle feelings when I do try to be good to a woman with initial intentions to do not for God and not myself but then I keep liking those girls and desiring a relationship. Never know what to do at that point. Whether to stop it all together and run or keep what I am doing while praying more. Discerning whether those ideas/feelings are from God, the world/experiences, or the devil is so hard.

I think mine was number 4, being a light with/for a Christian, and for a season. The season thing as explained exactly. Yeah, I knew he probably wasn’t the one for me, and he did end up showing that to be true. But we kinda helped each other for the most part at the right time. It still needed to end as quick as it did, because I think we started to not be good enough stewards of our time spent together, among other things. I thank God, for showing me through this video that “it’s okay that you spent exhaustive amounts of time with each other, and you both made some mistakes. Not that making silly mistakes is good, but it will be alright, if you follow my lead more closely in the future. You were a very sweet girl to a very clueless guy. You did good to remove yourself and forgive yourself and him.”. I mean, I clearly see what went wrong, and God forbid I let what happened happen again.

As an adult who is confident in my position of authority in Christ and in rhe knowledge of His power and the freedom that He LIVES, by the Power of the Holy Spirit that is freely available to all who hear His voice... i am so grateful that Ive been rejected, taken advantage of, and deceived by my own family.... because it's exactly what I needed to finally STOP ALLOWING MYSELF TO BLAME GOD for ANYTHING. If I'm not in a relationship with someone WHY WOULD I CARE ABOUT THEM??? GUESS who can care about someone im not in a relationship with???? GOD.

Amen! Thank you Pastor Mark! Always insightful! I'm having a few epiphanies just from this. Like, relationship for just a season, while that might seem obvious to some people, I've never thought to put it into that perspective. Makes a ton of sense, and now I feel peace from closure to certain parts and people. Maybe someone out there is having that same struggle too? But finally having the realization, to let them go and be at peace. God bless you Brother! Thank you! 😇

Can you explain how to spot a seasonal relationship
@GrimSoldat
@GrimSoldat Жыл бұрын
@@solomonkabutey3356 I think that might be one of those things you realize in hindsight. As of right now, I can see that with the current season I am in, which I work part time, go to school full-time, and go on missions intermittently, but am currently working up to go on missions full time. Some of my friends graduated and went back to their respective home states or elsewhere for post graduate school. Some of the friends I've made from previous jobs, I have not had contact with in months, sometimes years. Some of the romantic prospects I've had previously, have also moved on whether they changed jobs, went to different countries, and so on. Many have taught me very valuable lessons, whether they realize it or not. I know God has used them all for various purposes in growth, or placement or for setting the stage for another season of my life. I know for myself personally, I'm reminded of "the bigger picture" in God's plan for my life, and keeping my expectations loose, which is not foreign to me. My time served in the military paved the way for understanding seasonal relationships too. Some of the men and women I've served with, are some of the best relationships I've had in my life, but they move on too. Some of them went to be with The Lord and that's just the way it is sometimes. Sorry, that was much longer than I intended 😅 Does that all make sense? I hope that helps! 😇

@@solomonkabutey3356 I think, also, if we keep in mind where we are,, whether it's work, or the gym, what season we are in with different parts of our life, like people from ministry, people from work or social gatherings, we can have an idea of whether this person is present in our life for a season, or not. What is the purpose of me being here in a specific place? Is it strictly for work? The overall will of God is to glorify Him and represent His image everywhere we go and in all that we do. Am I representing God well or poorly? Like some relationships are limited to certain places for certain times. Like this one girl I was getting to know, I basically did not exist to her outside of the place she worked, even though we had some very personal conversations, so I had to come to terms with the fact we were only in each others' lives for a period of time, and that I did not mean more to her than a friendly client. You see?

I've seen this woman in Church for 15 years and never said hello until a few years ago. I hope this works out it's not a temporary thing. I don't think she was ready for a relationship and still isn't and I'm involved with my parents who are older so I don't have much time. I hope we get together and grow together until we're both ready for a full-time committment.

@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger

I think the details matter a lot so you might need to talk that out with someone in your life. For example, there is a time for correction and then a time to cast someone out like it talks about in 1 Corinthians 5 until they repent. If someone is not repenting you have to keep moving in your life. So it all depends. But here's a video about boundaries: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNWJi8p806qvo6M.html

Hey Mark, theres someone i have feelings for and that ive shared those feelings with. The person liked what i said till i expressed one extra(good) feeling i had for her. I think i scared her a little, unintentionally. I wrote her later and apologized for scaring her and said we can take it slow and just get to know each other. I think about this person all the time and my feelings for her. I think i maybe in a "right person, wrong time or right person, slow down" situation. What do you think Mark?

People who are Godly/agape lovers don't focus on receiving love. They're like God and givers, regardless of the outcome. The Is 5:20 type believe they're lovers yet focused on how they're loved back. That type of love is Satan's selfish love (narcissism). Eros love is not agape. Eros is self-based love. Modern society calls it romance.
@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger
@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger Жыл бұрын
yes, but biblically there are different types of relationship rules. As a Christian, your love for people is different than your love for a person you want to make your spouse. So it's not biblically accurate to confuse the types of love and put rules on relationships that don't apply to that type of relationship. Romance is meant to be mutual unlike the charity type of love that can be one sided. A ministry is different than a mutual relationship. For example, to love your enemy is clearly different than to love your spouse . . . both are love but a different type. For more on this you can read C.S. Lewis' book called The Four Loves
