Yea, I was waiting for This Episode, The Dabi reveal wasn't as shocking (I called it from day one dude looked like a Todoroki), it was everything else around it that elevated it. Endevour practically giving up, the worlds reaction to Dabi's message. 10/10

Two years ago when MHA manga chapter-290 "Dabi's Dance" came out, manga fans went crazy like hell yo! "Dabi's Dance" even out-trended 2020 US Presidential Election on Twitter and Internet in general back then and this just proves how damn popular Dabi or "Dabi's Dance" was and still is. It's still considered one of the greatest moments/revelations in the MHA series. We manga fans always knew Dabi is Touya Todoroki and seeing this get revealed made us manga fans feel relieved and validated. Back then everyone was like - "Fuck Donald Trump and Joe Biden! Dabi for the 2020 President, bitches!"

The reveal about Dabi being Endeavor's son isn't the big shock. It's the way Dabi goes about absolutely destroying Endeavor and everyone around him that really gives the extra punch to this reveal. Skeptic came in clutch with his hacking skills too. Also, to explain the Toga stuff, in the manga, Toga doesn't mention that Jin was taken out by Hawks. So Ochako doesn't have a lot of context of the situation. But Toga is essentially trying to know what one of her crushes wants to do with her. If Ochako finds her life to be important. Ochako, not knowing how to respond, dismisses Toga. And Toga, feeling like she essentially got rejected by her crush, decides to run away. But Ochako is then concerned because Toga is crying and she doesn't know why. Which creates this desire to understand Toga.

honestly most of the manga readers including me saw this coming but it was so well executed that it still had us all shocked

14:27 *Regarding Uraraka and Toga:* Basically Toga was looking for some sort of validation from Uraraka and wants to relate to her. But Uraraka's unable to connect with Toga due to the severity of her actions. Toga expresses herself abnormally with violent tendencies, and looking for any possibility of acceptance before more so deciding to embrace the dark side as a villain, feelings she's destined to be socially outcasted. Uraraka does have some empathy at the end to see Toga crying giving Uraraka something to reflect on for the future. This plot basically about seeing if there is any common ground to be found for a hero vs a villain for possible reconciliation. Kinda like Hawks vs Twice, a clash of ideology.

Everybody and their mother saw this twist coming but its still really dope to see finally in the anime. The Todoroki family remains one of my fave parts of the story so far.

Yeah it was roughly a decade later and he looks completely different, but as a parent to lose your son and not only find out he's alive but also you've been on opposite ends of this hero vs villains battle.. he's SHOOK

My interpretation of toga is her having a inner battle with herself on if she wants to be a hero or a villain and if with her quirk could she still become a hero … I think that’s why she was trying to explain that it’s her quirk and she doesn’t have a choice so does that automatically make her a bad person to ultimately get killed by a hero ie what happen to the clone guy

We actually haven't gotten Dabi's backstory yet but we will this season but it's extensive, since there will still be additional details missing but we will get information about the hair colour and why his fire is blue.

- Drinking blood is how Toga CAN express her love, as human beings, we all need love and connecvtions, toga is unable to connect with people normal way, she said she tried until she couldnt, she is trying to explain ochaco that she didnt become villain just because she wanted to but because she had to but uraraka didnt listen and just shut her down, just like her parents. toga understood that heroes/ochaco will never understand her, she and people like jin will never seen as people who is worthy of being saved by them, thats why she cried. - everything dabi said is true and civillians deserves the truth, he may showed it with manipulative way but he is right. and the one who felt betrayed is dabi, not endeavour since he is the one who turned his son to villain so.

The ATLA links are crazy! Dabi = Azula and Shoto = Zuko. Not exact same story but definitely the inspiration.

The Todoroki(s) are still the best part of the manga/show. Carrying the manga now with the final arc honestly. But also most of us knew Dabi was Shoto's brother the minute he was introduced in the manga but seeing it actually confirmed was super sweet!

Bruh....I was suspecting Dabi was related since season 2. During the training camp when he captures Bakugo, he called Todoroki by his first name Shoto. Which, knowing how isolated Shoto was growing up I knew he had to be close to the family somehow. But it was nice to have the suspicion FINALLY confirmed. And god in such a heart breaking way. I was so anxious knowing how Endeavor probably feels, and Shoto's voice when he says "Hey! Do that later!" Such an amazing season so far!

Toga needing blood is legit. Quirks are necessary bodily functions. Asking Toga to not ingest blood is like asking someone to stop breathing.

This Plus a lot of the other stuff from this season shows why last season set up was important. People want to shit on the last season. But not understand that all of that stuff set it up been paying of thus whole season. Especially with the whole thing with Dabi and even with the other students having the whole tournament. It set up everybody's power set that wasn't in this fight. So there's no way someone can say this came out of nowhere because it was a reference beforehand.

When it comes to the Toga and Uraraka stuff the focus was definitely more on how two sides of the same coin were asking each other questions with both sides misinterpreting the answers. It ended up being a large misunderstanding that Uraraka didn't catch until the end where Toga had tears in her eyes. Toga is indeed mentally unstable but also unfortunately ended up getting the more troubling sides of quirks. Her "need" to drink blood for her quirk is mixing in with that instability with her upbringing with her family and society having no way to deal with it outside of telling her to "put those feelings away" basically. She was looking for some validation and common ground which Uraraka just wasn't upstanding. It's about trying to have some discourse so that Heroes and Villains can find a common ground, as usually not a lot of people really give thought as to why these people do horrible things and what made them that way. It's kind of sad overall that Hori kind of just left Uraraka hanging in the wind for so long that her character arc became second note to other aspects of the story. If she was more present during important arcs I think more people would resonate with a lot of her personal mental struggles of understanding the faults of hero society. It's disappointing because I thought she started out so strong during sports festival but there wasn't much follow up. She gets more moments later but it's still kind of disappointing overall.

I can only relate to how endeavor feels cause I have a son myself, not the situation per se but I just put myself in his shoes and the pain and heartbreak here is real to know that your first born was alive whom you thought died, I don’t blame for him being unable to move let alone attack. He would take that prominence head on in his case because that’s his first born in his eyes, that’ll be what he wants, to hug his son whom he thought died, not attack.

I see the Toga situation as her really being similar to Twice. Twice had trouble finding an identity for himself because he made so many copies. Toga doesn't seem to even know who she is because she can change into other people. It's really a sad situation for her. She sees Ochaco and Tsu as examples of people she wants to be.

The Todoroki family has major issues, and while fire quirks are common, we haven't seen a lot of them in the show, so this was expected once we found out there was an older brother that was missing for Shoto. And the completely devastating way that Dabi breaks the news in just savagery at it's finest. As for Toga, I think that she is trying to truly understand where she stands with heroes. Because before, it was always that heroes and villains fight, heroes fought to only capture villains. But then Hawks kills Twice, premeditated and ice-cold. And Toga's quirk makes want the blood of the people that she loves. She fiends for it. She wants to be them. And she wants to understand Uravity. Is she a hero that kills or doesn't kill? Can she understand Toga at all, or is Toga doomed to the same fate as Twice one day? Toga is basically at the point of trying to understand her true place in the world and how to resolve her feelings.

Almost everyone I've reacted too calls out the "because fire quirks are a dime a dozen" line like "yeah how could Endeavor not realize?" I'm surprised not many people realize what dime a dozen means. :v It means that something is extremely common/easy to find. Dabi said fire quirks are extremely common, so Endeavor wouldn't think much about a villain having a fire quirk.

This had me hurt like for both endeavor and Dabi at the same time like it sucks how endeavor was back then but ugh 😩 he’s grown and the fact he wasn’t all imma die so plus ultra but he was froze cuz deep down those feelings of a first born dying are terrible and that’s why he was so closed up and did the things he did kinda unfortunate that his rivalry with all might made him toxic imo unlike how midorya and Bakugo have

I agree with you a lot about touya's injuries and then death creating a domino effect that caused the awful behavior of enji with the rest of his kids, specifically shouto. I started liking enji after we saw his pov in the manga and since I don't wanna spoil anyone I'm just gonna say that this episode and the upcoming ones hurt my soul a lot because I feel so bad for all of the todorokis

Those of us who are manga readers that called it know Dabi is Toya with the settle hints. But we were amazed by the execution. First clue season 2 when Dabi called Shoto by his name. He even called Endeavor by his full name at the end of season 4. And when Endeavor was talking about Toya, he said Toya flames were powerful than his. Science... blue flames are hotter than red flames. But I'm glad Horikoshi didn't do a bland reveal... he did that reveal justice.

They did a damn good job with this episode and season overall. I like Shigaraki alright but what Dabi embodies as a product of a twisted experiment by Endeavor is chilling. A mirror to the heroes of their hubris and, in Endeavor’s case, hypocrisy.

I'mma be honest, I don't like Dabi. He strikes me as the whiniest, cringiest edgelord in high school drama class. Idk, a lot of his tragedy seems to be of his own making and he seems to be retroactively blaming his dad for it. Seems we'll be getting more backstory from him and maybe my opinion will change but for now he's not getting any sympathy from me.
