Aputure LS 1200d Pro - How does it compare to the 600d Pro?

Finally a video that showed exactly what they'd look like in daylight. Thank you! Most other videos didn't do that comparison. At the end of the day I just wanted to see how much an extra stop would deliver.

Also remember to use a proper heavy duty combo light stand since a c stand base is way too narrow to lift the 1200d above 6 feet.

would go with a high roller if you are 6 feet / 1.8m plus.

Thanks for this. Having 2 600D's plus money left over is a better use case for me vs one 1200. Could use the other for bounce, etc... or, couldn't one mount 2x 600d's on a double header, retaining similar if not better output?

I really don't need either of these for my videos. Right now I just have the Apurture LS 60x. Maybe one day I'll do the 300x. But anyways... this is still cool to watch!

Hi Nate, thank you for your feedback we really appreciate it. I agree if you are indoors and don't battle the sun you don't need get the 600d or the 1200d, the LS 60x and the 300x are powerful lightsources for those cases.

The ls60x is 30watts daylight and 30watts tungsen. Plus it is a spot light because of narrow beam

@@creativegreats6924 That's okay. I'm quite happy with the 60x. I like the bi-color option. I don't want something that's just daylight. If I want a stronger light I will get one in the future. But for now I'm really quite happy with the LS 60x even if it's not the strongest light out there.

Can any 1200D owners out there confirm if this light is reliable at all? I am considering buying one and I have read on several reviews that these lights are failing??? Thax in advance.

Depends on what you are trying to shoot and how strong you want to light up the space. In my opinion if you want to have a mainlight and keylight for a scene where you have no other light source then you should buy 2x 300d. If you have different lightsources which you can use and just need a stong and good mainlight 1x 600d will do the job. But if you try to battle the sunlight is hard to do with both of them. I hope this helps.

Question: why would you prefer having 2 600s instead of one 1200? I would really love to know since I’m thinking about either buying more 600s or one 1200

You have more flexibility with two instead of one light. The 1200d is a great one, but if you are on a tight budget I would prefer rather two 600d Pros or three 600d (new cheaper ones).

We did test as well 2x 600d Pros vs 1x Arri M40 and of course the M40 was brighter but with a little exposure lift in post it would not possible to see really the difference.

What’s the largest reflector that fits in the case?

Hi Diego, thank you for your question. All the reflectors can fit inside the 1200d case. David Hrzenjak also mentioned that you could fit all if you can fit the largest one inside.
