My betta lives with Cory Catfish. They get along great, until feeding time, when my betta will finish his food, then hog (and defend) the sinking food all to himself. Now when I feed pellets, I put him in a 1 litre measuring cup. At first I had to use the flow of water into the cup to swoosh him up, but since he now knows that the cup means food, I gently submerge it, and he swims inside on his own. He always leaves a poop in the cup. I'm not sure if it's because he wants to keep the tank clean or (most likely) because his belly is full from the pellets he gets. Either way, it helps keep waste down, and helps to gauge whether I am feeding him enough, or too much.

Having my betta jump out of the water and eat food off my finger was very easy, he did it first try. It’s very fun. And I’ve only had him for less than a week. Go try it!

You need to feed 2-3 times a day with 4-6 pellets based on your betta fish size. As rule of thumb, need to feed only the quantity of food that your fish can consume within 3 mins. Good luck with your fish keeping.

It takes time. If betta is eating fine, just tap slowly on glass few time everytime before feeding. feed with your finger to get her used with routine. In general, betta need to be comfortable with tank environment. If she is new to tank, give few days to get adopted to the tank. 👍
