What I like about Manta is that he’s not like other villains, after something bigger or more complex as his goal. He just wants revenge, and he’s willing to go to any lengths to get it. It’s a simply motive but a very powerful one.

She’s a psychopath that abused her husband, took him for more money than any of us will ever have, nudged him into addiction and a spiral, completely uprooted his world, temporarily destroyed his career, and sadistically tortured him for years. She doesn’t deserve to be in a movie and make millions of dollars. She doesn’t deserve to bounce back into Hollywood and continue to become a bigger influence. She is poison, and this is from someone that really didn’t know anything about the man before the trial started. Plus, I have BPD, and I know how psychotic we can be. Mix that with her blatant narcissism… dangerous. 😈👿😈💀💀💀💀💀 Those people making the movie turned on him with zero evidence, and when it was shown to the world that he was the victim of dv and was still being victimized, they didn’t make a peep. No apology. No gesture in any way to show their recognition that he was the one being harmed at home, and it destroyed HIS life, meanwhile boosting his abuser’s career….. *THAT ISN’T OKAY. THAT SHOULD NOT BE SUPPORTED BY ANYONE THAT WATCHED THAT TRIAL.*

With the whole dc reboot thing, if they resolved to keep this fairly self contained and a solo outing as a movie, this has potential to be great. The villain motivation we know(?) Is at least personal, which would lend itself to that sort of narrative. Im cautiously optimistic!!

I went into this movie with low expectations because of the mixed reviews. So I expected it to not be good at all. And I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t bad at all in my opinion. Not the best movie ever, not amazing, but still pretty good. I still think the first Aquaman is better, but I still enjoyed this one
