Timed additions of Kalk, that's how I've been doing it all this time. My ATO is basically a timed Kalk doser. The best way by far.

so the included pump with the reactor should be set on a timer ?

what size pump do you reccomend if mounted to the aquarium about 4 ft high from the resoervoir?

I put 8 tbsp of Kalk into 4 gallons RODI and just run it in my ATO over about a week. My calcium stays at 440 consistently, and Dkh at 10.1...but my magnesium drops daily. I presume it is either precipitating out of the tank or the coral/coralline algae is drinking it up....How do I keep Mg stable other than just frequent testing/dosing?

I was wondering if I need to dose trace and minor elements if am dosing Kalk. Kalk only takes care of calcium and alkalinity, if yes what additive will you recommend.

so..with a 25 gallon reef...I can add 1/8 of a teaspoon per hour max but my evap is not that high so...basically I will be adding ALOT LESS then 1/8 teaspoon per hour...so I am confused as hell now sorry Julian dont mind me... lololol....How often would you dose it to a 25 gallon reef and how much would you put per ....if my evap is 1/2 a gallon a day would you only put the 1/8 teaspoon in? or would you put 24 x 1/8 teaspoon...cannot possibly be....Tim

Julian, if I does 3/4 of a teaspoon once per eachhour and continue doing that...will my PH not go thru the roof? There is a limit ...right? So not only do we have to measure 1/r4 tea per 50 gallons but we need to know that amount of times we have to actually turn the doser on...I just dont quite understand. I understand 1/4 per 50 gallons per hour...but...thats not the full equation..right??

Why is talking in these nonsense measurements like 3/4 teaspoon? If you want to do this properly you need to use decent measurement scales e.g. grams and Litres.
