I am so on the same page. I first encountered him about a year ago. I'm79. I had depression for over 40 years at time. Three days of Dimash, and no more depression. Severe, debilitating headaces, same thing. And every time I watch/hear him, it's so incredibly, his voice so miraculous, his face so angelic and dear. Well, he worked hard for this. Born with perfect pitch, but also a passion for singing, even as an infant. And he trained--formally, from the age of 5, but was giving little concerts even at age2-3. He loves music, Arab Man. He said, "Look in my heart, you'll find music.Look in my head,you'll find music." And he has been a good and faithful servant to that music, training EVERY day for at least3 hours besides preparation for performances. He got it as a gift, at birth, and then he repaid by loving it immaculately and completely. Even with my wretched, sticking keyboard, I could go on all night about this. I'm SO glad to see someone like you discovering him. I could see love in your face, for his angelic voice. Thank you for being one of the ones who GETS Dimash! And thank you for the passionate reaction.

Some reactors bore me with too much tech talk, some don't say much but make a lot of exaggerated facial expressions. Your reactions are the perfect blend of both. Your intelligence is evident by your speech, you know music, recognize talent and the emotions you display are sincere. I'm glad to have found you.

Your life just changed. After a couple months of daily Dimash your brain is remodeled and your ears and brain will demand better music all around.

Honestly, I think only totally non musical people could not be impressed by Dimash. I never met or saw a person who knows music even just as a simple listener, that wouldn't stare in awe at the screen, while Dimash was singing. There's no point in mentioning music experts or musicians....there comes the REAL appreciation and respect. Oh, yeah. He is loved and respected by all musicians, composers, voice teachers and producers, especially the ones who worked with him. They love not just his enormous talent but his sweet personality. They say, he is a pure, intelligent, gentle, loving, humble kid with the mind, heart, education and work ethic of a very old soul. He walks in, dressed like a kid from the neighborhood, hugging everyone with a big smile, joking around.....and then he starts working and everybody is blown away by how he transforms into this mature, serious, extraordinary musical genius 🙂

Now I give a little information about the song "Sinful Passion". This song is old. She's over 20 years old. The first performer of this song was a singer from Kazakhstan Batyrkhan Shukenov (he died in 2015). Dimash beautifully sang in Russian language a cover of the song "Sinful Passion" 09.09.2018 at the "New Wave" festival in Sochi (Russia). He didn't imitate the first performer. Dimash used all his phenomenal abilities and made a completely different interpretation of this song. I can't remember a single song where the singer changed 5 voices (from baritone to soprano) and 4 octaves in one song. And Dimash did it easily. Dimash tells a great story and draws us into it. Many viewers cry, others have chills. And all together they sit like under hypnosis.

His father (who is also in his management) once answered the question in an interview: the melismas before and after the riff (which aren’t the unususual thing about it) are indeed Eastern melismas (but not necessarily Middle-Eastern, the same technique is used in Arabic countries but also in other Eastern countries (e.g. Central Asian countries like Dimash’s home country Kazakhstan)) However, the fast riff in between is Dimash’s own faster interpretation if an ethnic Yakutian riff according to Dimash’s father. Yakutia is in Siberia, so that part is actually mot Middle-Eastern.

Absolutely agree. There is so many great singers we know, but there wasn't a singer like him in past, not now and probably there won't be next hundred years. He is the best creation of God so far. I hope he stole an apple from a neighbour's orchard as a kid.🙃 Russian audiences hardly ever do standing ovations. Composer Igor Krutoy set the example in the front row. If you had played it a bit further you could have heard Di thank the band and invite the audience to come to Kazachstan for a visit. He also confessed he could not hold all the flowers. They were given to a home for the elderly. Did you already react to Autumn Strong from I am s singer 2017? First time he sang in Chinese before a Chinese audience. It is my favourite.
