GTTOD - 19 Minutes of Gameplay

Sorry it has been so long since I've uploaded a video! Life has been a bit crazy as of late, but it's all finally settling down and I'm able to work pretty consistently.
Anyhoo, I have no idea how this video is gonna turn out since I am uploading this bitch and going to bed, but I wanted to upload a video to show all the stuff I have been adding and working on in GTTOD - bugs and all, to let everyone know exactly where I'm at as far as gameplay is concerned.
So, what you are seeing in this video is basically "Act 1" in GTTOD. It's three levels and a bossfight long, and typically takes about 20 - 30 minutes to complete. I am not sure if it'll be happening in THIS update or the next, but all levels in the main mode of GTTOD will eventually be in a set (but seemingly random) order, which means you'll get different levels each time you start a new run. So Level 1 and Level 2 will be totally different for you compared to the last run that you did. All-in-all, Act 1 will eventually have either 5 or 7 levels that I will be able to alternate between. Act 2 and Act 3 will be the same way as well, so the total runtime of a game / run of GTTOD should be about an hour to an hour and a half. I'm pretty happy with this since the game is meant to be played similarly to Risk of Rain 2, where-as you pick it up and play around for a bit and do a few runs every now and again. During these runs you'll be unlocking new arenas, new levels, and new Starter Cards with modifiers to keep things interesting.
There's also Endless Arenas and the Rogue Like mode too that can be played pretty much indefinitely. I'll have a separate video here soon showing those off as well.

It wasn't anything bad. I've been moving out of my apartment lately and that has been taking up a lot of my time. Got my new office set up about a week or so ago and I've just been slowly getting back into the groove of things.

Yes, new video. Wish I could get the game, this and ultrakill have to be my 2 favourite games, and that's saying something seen as I replayes the ultrakill prelude about 100 times, and have never played any version of GTTOD

You're doing amazing work. Also wanted to say that I spent a lot of time scaling the trees on the maps just to reach the highest points. thanks for making them climbable and not just textures. I appreciate all the easter eggs you put into this and I'm excited to see you continuing this project.

It looks phenomenal! My only criticism is that the hud scaling probably shouldn't hide information while you're firing.

i agree, but i think hud scaling is modifiable in settings so all that stuff can be turned down if it’s not your preference

So a couple things. How do we access this build? Also, the level design and gameplay are the best they've ever been. I feel like it needs more but the obnoxious thing is I don't know what or how much it needs, and I can't exactly give feedback if I don't know what the hell it is I want or feel. Regardless you're doing excellent work. Keep it up man.

YOOOOO!!! This looks sick! But it gets kinda disorienting when you fire the plasma cannon, i'm guessing when you fire weapons it changes not only the hud scale but the fov aswell to add more oomf to the weapons? Other than that, looks really fun! Like Respawn added an arcade mode to titanfall 2 and the music is phenomenal. Great work so far!!!

God DAMN is that neon uzi sexy, from the visuals to the sound design that thing is pure fuck. I really love the look and sound of this, on top of that it's a movement shooter, imma have to check it out

Now this is a step in the right direction. One criticism is that I think ammo pools for pistols and SMGs should be separate, same with assault rifles and sniper rifle type weapons.

this reminds me why i support this. also is multiplayer planned by any chance? it would be amazing playing with 2-4 friends jumping and slaying. (if it is it may be a good idea handling it like pd2 by hosting the server on the "hosts" pc so that no game servers are required.

Lol he literally asked on his Discord if people wanted to change the crosshair, and the majority said yes. I don't think requests like this under his videos makes that big of a change, he's slowly focusing on finishing the actual game now

You should add auto loading holster to the grenade launcher, it will make the gameplay feel smoother. I didn't see you use it a lot

Your dedication is astonishing. There may be a version on phone one day, but it wouldn't be anything like the main game. There are minigames in the main game, and so it'd likely be one of those.

Bruh do you have no comprehension of the idea that phone isn't designed for mouse and keyboard games. Plus it def won't run on a phone, you can see bits of lag on his computer even. Best you can hope for is console, I just hope it will have an xbox one version but I doubt it would be easy to do.

This game always looks absolutely phenomenal, man! Every major update is like an entirely new game, lol. I pray this game boops its way onto GOG someday ❤ Not to be a Negative Nancy, but how attached are people, really, to the basic pistol? I know it's like a legacy trope to start with a handgun, but so often it feels like it gets rendered obsolete almost immediately, seeming more redundant with each new retro-feelin' shooter. Doom Eternal bucked the pistol, and I _did_ miss having some sorta fallback sidearm with unlimited ammo (also something I really appreciate having in the Rainbow Six Vegas and Division games), but how often did anybody really genuinely pull out the pistol again in any Doom game? Even back in Quake, we were starting off with a shotgun, which I really respected as it set a more, "no time for pistols, we're just jumpin' in hard" sorta vibe... Not to seem like I'm _demanding_ it's removal, lol, but I guess I'm just curious about how many people are super attached to that "dinky starter gun" type of weapon these days :p

Actual criticism; the game doesn't run well on any kind of computer accept the most high end, state of the art, millionaire ones, and if you want people to be able to afford to play this game then you should stop focusing on adding more things until you optimize some of the scripts, Yandere dev made the same mistake and he's paid for it since. The only problem I've had with you is that you don't concentrate on what you're doing and move to the next thing as soon as you get bored. It's up to you to decide o even finish reading this let alone what you're going to do with this information. Take care of yourself, I'm sorry for being so brash.

In your version, yes, but I have optimized the game so much in this version that it now runs on laptops. I started this update by optimizing, fixing, and addressing everyone's major performance concerns. Now I'm to the point where I'm just adding content.
