It's an extended grab done with a very hard to detect prep where they put in a button combo to make an extended, homing grab, there's a whole video on it, and its used by a lot of Samus mains.

It's because both players were so low that the 3d aspect came into play, rotating the viewing angle, making it hard to see just how far Marth is from the ledge.

elgatochurro the majority of Gamecube controllers can't properly dash back in Melee so to level the playing field and not force players to spend lots of money on the rare controllers that have the right dashback, a minor patch was created so every Gamecube controller can dash back properly

Chu did a reverse sweep on Leffen, meaning Leffen originally won 2 games over Chu’s 0, but then Chu won the whole match. However, a mod called Universal Controller Fix was not turned on before the match; the mod gives all controllers the ability to have their players perform a dashback. As a result of Leffen bringing this up (I think), they both had to redo the match, which Leffen won.

So this would be a compromise, essentially "paying back" the winning player because someone made a mistake with the setups. It's not perfect, but the initial games definitely matter; it's not like they played best 3 of 5 in some other game and then had to play a set of melee

If you "deserve" to win the runback, then you should prove it, by winning the runback. If you won the fake games and can't win the runback then why do you "deserve" anything? Your solution does more harm to tournament integrity than any benefit it could give.

Failed Sage There’s some glitch with Ice Climbers that happens... I think when you throw someone and side-special at the same time? And they get frozen in the air. Obviously, this is banned. In the clip, Nana basically does it by herself exactly whenthe player used their side-special to recover, the glitch happened. tl;dr Nana did a banned glitch by herself

You can also see that Popo, controlled by playing is stationary throughout the entirety of that phase, but Nana’s still swinging, which isn’t how Icies desyncs work. This is all the work of the cpu, and that’s the funniest part. You can even see the player’s hands aren’t both on the controller to input what Nana’s doing that entire time.

So what would be the official ruling in that situation? He couldn't even immediately throw him out of it because Nana has already tacked on some damage, but you can't bust the player for something essentially random either.

I think if he immediately freed him it could have been played out, but since he was brought to high % under the effects of the glitch the stock should be replayed.

Chudat actually wins with a reverse 3-0 A mod that Melee uses called a Universal Controller Fix was not on, allowing all players to do something call a dashback. Leffen tells Chudat to restart the match, Chu agrees, where Leffen wins. People call out Leffen for being a scumbag and only doing this so he can win Against Chudat, saying he would not have said that if he won. Bullshit, Fox is way more affected by ufc being off. Wobbling is like the exact same.

The other thing is that UFC being off doesn't put them on even ground, UFC just standardizes all controllers but if you already have a perfect (malfunctioning) smash controller UFC being off is a one frame advantage for you on every backdash input over your opponent.
