Val Doonican is often quoted as saying that it took him seventeen year's to become an overnight success. He was referring to his appearance, in 1964, on the top rated live TV show, Sunday Night at The London Palladium. The following day his life had changed forever. WONDERFUL gentle whimsy, gorgeous singing and Val's smile lights up the room.. Thank you @archiveTV13 for sharing, and sending me on a lovely trip down Memory Lane.. Engelbert the Elephant is such a great little song, it made me smile without realizing it, then I started to sway along with Val and finished with a massive grin my face..
