Still blows my mind that 35s/37s are run on so many dailys now! My 35/9/r16 used to be big boys!

Now that both the Jeep Wrangler 20th Anniversary and Ford Bronco Raptor can be bought with 37's, I think we'll be seeing a lot more of them.

The size of later model 4x4s has really been the push for larger tires. 35s were king from the 70s to the 00s. But with the JK being so much larger then a TJ and an f150 now making an OBS look like a ranger, 37s kinda became necessary.

I prefer my 15” rims on my CJ with 35” tires. Great sidewall to squish on obstacles
@1a1u0g9t4s2u Жыл бұрын
To air down, side wall depth is necessary. Saw a pic from SEMA a Jeep with 20" wheels. The rubber band tires will get snake bite ( people who ride road bicycles know what I mean) punctures/failures are increased. Plus the ride softness is compromised when you air down and have large diameter wheels.
@psycho-nutkase9233 Жыл бұрын
I've wheeled 20" rims with 32.8" tall tires before 😂 seemed fine air down to 20psi. I now have 17" rims with 33.2" tall tires since I wanted the dot legal bead locks (aka Icon rebound pro's). 😂 Snow is my terrain of choice.

Unless you want to replace wheel bearings often put them on. You must have a dodgy mechanic who likes to give dodgy pink slips if you live in Australia. Wheel spacers are a defect head up to Qld and glass house mountain see if the cops approve.

My F150 came with 20s and a 32in tire. I switched to a 17 and a 35. Even tho it’s just a 35 they look huge next to the stock wheel/tire with that much sidewall. I just can’t stand big wheels and tires with no sidewall.

Well, I’m trying to run 45s or bigger😅 so a 17 inch rim is the most common rim size for large tires. Other than that it’s either a 20 or a 24 to be able to run 58s and then try and find a off-set beadlock rim in a 17x anything is hard to find

Because you still don't have as much sidewall as a 15" wheel, and therefore are leaving performance on the table.
