Haha same bruh but im not joking! I never had issues with these old ass tires, tbh only on snow it was an issue. But on rain or normal weather no problem.. and these tires were so messed up that i failed the main check lmao. Now i finally bought new ones (Hankook kinergy 4s2) :P

Rubber deteriorates. The most dangerous tires you can buy are tires sitting in storage for years before being sold. Yet most people never check their tire expiration dates before they buy

The things to worry about the cheaper tires is tire wear and shoulder/wall strength, they usually aren’t as rated.

Bought a set of Toyo Extensa HPII with my stimulus check. Did some spirited driving around Mulholland and I'm quite impressed with them. If you're looking for some affordable all around tire and not the cheap cheap, I highly recommend them.

Toyo, tires are tires I usually associate with Yokohama tires, khumo tires and sumitomo tires. They're usually tires that are always going to be good all around, it's just that they don't get the same recognition or recommendations as other tires do

I've worked at a Mr Tire for several months now and seen hundreds of people buy and run cheap tires. As long as they're not abused and rotated, they hold up. They just wear out much quicker and see more broke belts and bugles.

I have some Federals on my wrx and they handle great! A little less responsive compared to the BFGoodrich set i had on before but still, well worth the money! Definitely great for some spirited driving on windy canyon roads. For example, I drove from Northern California to Medford, Oregon then to Crater Lake and the tires handled rain, slush, ice, and snow with no problems. Even in the rain they grip the road nicely.

Short answer = Yes. Compare a Yokohama YK580 VS a Michelin Pilot sport.. one grips and lasts a little longer but the other is sticker and safe in all conditions but cost a little more. I have had both tires on my Acura TSX and will only Run Michelin for the life of the car. I dont have snow where I live.

Iv always had the mindset that because your tyres are your only contact patch to the ground you should never cheap out on tires, cuz of where I live I either keep my cars on sport summer tyres (NS2Rs) or Toyo Tr1s as a tyre with a more sport grip focus

If the car manufacturer recommends an ultra high performance tire for that car, I would follow those directions. Going cheap is ok as long it meets the recommended specs. I buy very grippy tires. The faster the car can stop or turn, the safer you are

Yes and no... all tires in the U.K. are made to a certain decent standard so they are all safe and perform good obviously if your putting some budget tires on a high powered car that’s not a smart choice but budget tires are fine on normal everyday cars

if it's a daily, go for normal tires. if it's a track car, go for expensive performance tires that your car needs. if it's a drift car, it depends... if it's for casual fun, go cheap. it wont burn your wallet. if its professional drifting, go for more expensive ones. it all depends on how fast you go through a set or how deep your pockets go lol.

Yeah right you buy according to what use your tires for. I drive 11 miles to and from work everyday and my wife and I will take a road trip maybe once a month my oem tires were Michelin then coopers but I was driving over 100 miles a day and when I needed new tires i got the milestar ms932 sports and they are very good. Been to the mountains, downpour and they are very good. I'm not a race car driver 😅 it's just transportation. I've had the so called best and the milestars are good

federal 595 rs-r and rs-rr are significantly better than the 595ss. if you are looking for affordable grip tires I recommend the Potenza re71r(currently on closeout), Falken rt660, Firehawk indy500's, Kumho v720/v730

I'm new to cars seen and youtube. Checked out your tire and wheel site was blown away by prices and verity. The thing that helps me most to buy is seeing on my car. Most place doesn't show you. Your car with the tires and or wheels. I thought it mite be a good idea when releasing tires and wheels. Maybe do a small like less then 5% to send in a pic where a new buyer can see it in their car. So building a small library of the best examples and pics. I would love if a site did this. Would take a lot of guessing out of figuring out what I want. I know it would be hard to go out and get a car your selves for every wheel. Would be expensive. This would be a great way to make customers feel part of a group or family. Plus a way to show off their car and cool new products they are buying. I could only assume I'm not the only one that would come running. Not sure this would work in the real world. But I thought I would ask and see. Love the shows so far. Thank you for all the work you do for my entertainment and car education.

Some tyres are great in 225/45-17 but not performing great ind 195/45-15 My Friend running sunny summer tires in his Mondeo the work okey. But when he put the same brand and model on a kia Picanto it was really bad in the rain. Where he didn't have any struggle. I have tried Rotella on my old Mercedes and they where shot and even with a little moist on the road the could grip at all and the 245 wide tyre actually was more like 225 compared to a set of Continental 🤔 I have a soft spot for Hankook Ventus serie and Toyo CF1"s. They had always performed well and in the winter I'm disappointed by Continental but very pleased with Goodyear.

I have uniroyal winters for 40 euros a piece and they are perfectly safe, safest tires I ever had, I took them on ice, snow, mud, offroad, hitting potholes and curbs and still in perfect condition after 3 years even thread is not worn at all, I lost like a millimeter in all that time. having said that they not very sporty, compared to my summer setup they have less feel, lean more and grip less on dry asphalt, but you have to be driving like a hoon to notice that

With only seeing the notification, I came to answer (based on anecdotal experience) that yes cheap tires are dangerous. They don't offer the same grip as a better constructed tire which led me into my first accident. I lost control at 45 mph. I had the tires for maybe a week and a half at that point.

Blaming tires for shitty driving is the easy way out. How about you admit to your faults and work on that driver mod. Tires alone will not lead to a crash unless they are bald. Every tire sold has to pass minimum requirements.

@@SMD-si7fm it's easy to blame when you don't know the details and circumstances These tires were basically bought with the intention of buying the cheapest thing I could find since I didn't know and didn't have money (at that time) for something better. Now ever since I always do my homework to buy something that is good for being safe for each of the different driving environments. Though budgeting is still a concern, safety is of a higher priority. Ever since, I have been able to avoid some serious possible accidents.

In theory yes you shouldn’t skimp on tires since thats what your car drives on; however, i first bought and modified a 90 Mustang while in college so had limited funds atone point i installed cheap retread gatorbacks once along with sumitumo, yokohamo, general, kuhmo, and other cheap brands. I beat the snot out of all of them and never had an issue. Did they have the traction of better ones nope but some last longer because harder compound but i never had one issue using them year round in new england…yes drove my 400HP car through winters. IMO nothing wrong majority of tires sold and i am guessing they are even better today than back in early 90s.

Gels lost all credibility with me when he recommended Westlake and Ohtsu tires. The "most popular tires sold at FI" are popular because they're cheap. He hit the nail on the head when he said your tires are the last line of defense, but then he talks up ironman tires. These guys know fitment, but damn it's hugely disappointing that they recommend absolute garbage tires. As enthusiasts who drive aggressively, cheap tires are a huge mistake. Buy Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, and the like. Do not buy cheap tires. Cheap tires total cars. ffs. seriously disappointing. source: I work for Bridgestone. Tires are what I do.

Yes, cheap tires can be dangerous. If they are from a company that has very little reputation, not many reviews, and are at a too good to be true price then they definitely could be dangerous. I bought some super cheap Barum All-season tires for one of my cars and thought nothing of it, until I drove it in the rain. It under steered around every corner. I swear my old tires that had the bead showing gripped better.

I brought Douglas Walmart tires for my FR-S since I got them for cheap and only needed to last until Spring. I feel like I'm gonna die in the rain and they give me no confidence above 80mph. Don't buy the nogrips from Walmart.

Sorry I don't run cheap tries. I almost died do to a side wall blow out . I noticed a small bubble in the tire... and I was like wow what shitty ass tires.. not 2 miles down the road anddd boom tire blows out car makes a Very sharp turn to the left I am going across the road hitting a telephone Pole and flipping over... And prior to this week before I changed a back one Due to a broken belt.. Remember you get what you pay for I for one will never buy a cheap Chinese tire
