@TacseraEpSekahs
@TacseraEpSekahs Жыл бұрын
Abortion is not only about the baby, it's also about the mother. Unfortunately it has been proven that if you restrict people's access to abortion and make doctors fear to lose their licenses if they misdiagnose potentially life threatening condition in a pregnant women, it leads to much more harmful and even lethal situations. Not all people, who seek abortion, are irresponsible party girls. Some want kids but face horrible complications during pregnancy (it's not always 100% clear do you have it or not, but if missed, can be fatal for both, like a fetal death). Some are married and already have kids, but don't have the opportunity to raise another child without sacrificing of well being of their already existing kids (and giving for adoption in their case is much more morally difficult). There have been done researches on those things. Also not mentioning that the adoption system isn't great, as well as forcing a kid into a family that doesn't want it. If it all was rainbow and kittens after a child is born, then yes. Unfortunately world isn't perfect. And it would benefit to think 5-10-20 years ahead, than just "punishing" both mother and a child for getting pregnant.
@tvbnine793
@tvbnine793 Жыл бұрын
@TacseraEpSekahs AMEN. Everything you just said is why I strongly encourage people on both sides to stop being so hyper fixated on abortion and start tackling unplanned pregnancy, which doesn't just lead to abortions but also children ending up in foster care and single parents stuck with kids they weren't ready for. If we address unplanned pregnancy, we can kill 3 birds with one stone.

@abeerkhan1879

And what if contraceptives fail? People can be responsible, but contraceptives are not 100% effective. Why is your answer always "be responsible" even when people are responsible? If a couple wants only one child, then should they never have intercourse for the remainder of their lives? And how are you confident that all people that have ab0rti0ns live a life of regret? People that yearn to have children sometimes have to resort to ab0rti0ns for many reasons. And adoption isn't easy at all. If ALL the kids in the foster care right now could find happy homes right this instant and those numbers go down drastically then I'm willing to support your adoption argument. Leave this decision between families and their doctors. This shouldn't be a political issue at all because whether you are a conservative or a liberal, you or someone you know might need it one day for various reasons and that's why this should be between families and their doctors, who underwent years and years of education and training, unlike politicians who have no knowledge of medicine.

Simple... They don't actually believe what they say. They believe what they are told to. Most don't start with principle then apply the principle to an issue to reach a conclusion, instead many begin with a position on an issue then try to back into the principles that justify the position. The result is not having any consistent core principles.

I used to be on the left because I believed a lot of the things the left said that anyone who considers themselves to be conservative is close-minded, hypocritical, and unreasonable. I was raised by a very strict conservative mother who embodies those negative stereotypes of conservatives. When I was growing up, my mom forbade me from having a boyfriend until I graduated from college, she expected me to show up on time for school (K-12) and expected me to be on my way home from school as soon as the school bell rang. I was also only allowed to have friends during school hours but as soon as the school bell rang my family (my mom, aunts, uncles, cousins) were my only friends. I used to hate seeing a friend outside of school at the mall or at the grocery store with my mom next to me because my mom would later interrogate me about the friend, possibly tell me I shouldn't be friends with them and sometimes the friend would say something that I didn't want my mom knowing about like a boy I had a crush on. I also felt incredibly embarrassed about any of my friends meeting my mom because they would feel pity for me. Anyway, now as an adult I realize that I was wrong that not all conservatives are like my mom. I also think I wanted to agree with the left to rebel against my mom and her beliefs. I now consider myself a conservative who tries to not be the negative stereotypes that the left thinks conservatives do/say without giving up my principles or values.

I'm generally okay with the stances people have and their arguments on both sides here -- on one hand, it's a life, but on the other hand, it's holding the mother hostage (so you could almost argue for self defense here, at least in the case of rape). I'm relatively cool with this just coming down to states' rights to decide for themselves at the end of the day. My gripe is when it takes over the whole conservative platform. It's an issue that directly affects a small minority of the country, and yet it takes a center stage instead of matters like free speech, foreign policy, property rights and taxation, and fiscal responsibility, which tend to have a much greater impact on the lives of everyone. It just doesn't seem like the biggest priority in either direction. The black market abortion situation is also a mess I'd seek to avoid. I suppose the legalization of it can seem to bring a nonchalance about it, but in my experience, folks who've had the procedure done tend to pore over the decision a lot more than some seem to think. The pragmatist in me says to keep it legal, but to apply a harm reduction model to reduce the amount it is turned to, either with adequate access to prophylaxis, sane sex education, and generally better community support so that people don't feel like they HAVE to get abortions to avoid their lives being ruined. We can talk about it being murder, but a wise man once advised that I not be so quick to throw the first stone unless I was sure of my own righteousness.

Brett/ Brett’s team: please do a short video discussing Sean O’Malley’s open relationship. He publicly humiliates his partner and child by casually talking about ‘banging hot chicks’ and sets a terrible example for young men. He is becoming a big star with a large and loyal fan base and I worry he is corrupting the minds of younger generations by normalising this type of behaviour. Real traditional masculinity is already on the decline as are healthy relationships and family structures, these type of beta males with loose morals and immature ideas are exasperating the process. He is a great fighter but no young men or women should be influenced by his twisted modern lifestyle. Outside of his athleticism, he is not a positive role model for men at all, but he is a rising star with lots of influence. We´re very aware of our political point of view, we just don´t talk about it, she´s my longest friend. So yes people can get along, without having the same political point of view. But honestly, very slowly she´s coming to my political side. Again we don´t talk about politics, she´s just slowly opening her eyes and seeing where this path is leading, and seeing reality for what it is, and it´s not liberal hahahahahaha. I´m realizing this in some statements she says every once in a while. A couple of months ago I dared to do something and got her in to talking a little bit about politics. We didn´t fight, we had an argument. I realized that we´re both agreeing but somehow not agreeing at the same time. But at the end we both agreed completely on this: Anybody can do whatever they want, as long as they´re not hurting anybody else, or trying to force their views and ways on others. Honestly that´s a HUGE step forward for her, because before that, she used to say something completely else.
