Seeing the stance these "republicans" had on these issues, seeing the producer interrupting to chime in to defend the Democrats, etc., I am confident that this was far from an honest attempt at doing a "truth or drink" between Democrats and Republicans.

Almost all of the "Republicans" they got for the video were in favor of abortion and other progressive policies, and when their squishiness wasn't enough the producer stepped in to share her progressive values. I agree more Republicans and Democrats should give each other a chance, but this video was basically Democrats and Centrists getting along. I wonder if it was filmed in California . . .

I get the feeling that these Republicans aren’t Republicans. The whole situation with my friend had a pregnancy scared, and we help them get an abortion was not some thing that I feel like a Republican should do. If I were in that situation, I would gather my friends together and see how we could help that family in the early stages of having a child. We’re a community we’re supposed to help that family and celebrate the wonderful bringing of new life into the world. I would be willing to drop my big plans, and get married, to father my child and provide for my family if it was me with the pregnancy scare. i'm a democrat/liberal, and i've commented with arguments on your videos several times before, but i do want to take a moment to appreciate you speaking your truth. it's refreshing to see both sides of this entire situation, and it's nice to hear a conservative speaking valid points rather than just older conservatives being like "because it wasn't like this in my day." i really do enjoy watching your channel. you've made republicans a lot more tolerable for me, and even though i don't agree with most of your viewpoints, you're incredibly entertaining and make learning about the other side a little more personal (in the good way.) you will anyway, and that's fine, but take my other comments with a grain of salt. despite being proudly transgender and gay myself, i do agree with you on your points about physically transitioning children and teenagers--also, sue me my fellow liberals, but even though trump was a big asshole he was really good for our economy. (can this country as a whole agree our government kind of sucks ass though? like literally. both sides of it.)

I agree this “experiment” could’ve been handled much better without bias being blatantly shown by the director, even if both the director and I are democrats- back seating really doesn’t make you look good. The one positive thing that I could take from this video, would be the fact that some of the people were able to get along at the end and claim that they’d be willing to hang out with one another. Your message about being able to be friends with the other party is also good, as I do believe true friends can stay friends no matter the ideal/political differences… (unless it’s like… someone believes murder is okay.) I’ve honestly been very 50/50 with your content, especially with the differing views- but being able to hear what your thoughts are allows me to put further thought into my own opinions. Edit: I just hope that instead of the constant yelling and slandering of one another, we, as people, are able to actually communicate with each other about our thoughts and opinions without it turning into a cat fight. That means actually LISTENING! Not just sitting and waiting for YOUR turn to speak.

I used to be liberal until I had my second son. My husband and I were having a lot of problems in our marriage and I really thought we were going to get a divorce, When I found out I was pregnant with my second. I thought this baby would complicate things so I took Blue Cohosh and Mugwort to try to self abort at 8 weeks pregnant. I bled a bit but nothing else. At 14 weeks pregnant I Googled abortion clinics near me and there was one 2 miles away. It was while I was googling that, that I felt my baby kick inside me. I took it as a sign from the creator that this wasn't right as you typically can't feel baby's kicks before twenty weeks. It was then that I realized how selfish I was for trying to rid him like he was a problem. That he was an obstacle instead of a human being. I got marriage counseling hardcore and tried to work on our marriage and now my baby is healthy and 4 months old and I couldn't be happier.

I'm a conservative that grew up near Portland, Oregon. Most of my friends used to be lefties, because the options were lefties or no friends. Turns out now that I'm all grown up, I'd rather have no friends than to be friends with lefties, because I cannot abide by ANYONE who is so without mercy that they wouldn't think twice about a baby in the womb being murdered, full stop. I cannot abide ANYONE who thinks it is ok for children to be put on hormone blockers, so that they don't develop properly and become infertile. In short, I cannot abide child abuse in all forms.

I lost my best friend and first love because of our differentiating political opinions. I was best friends with this girl throughout most of high school. In the summer before our senior year, she started taking more stake into the growing popularity of the liberal/"woke" party i guess you could call it (circa 2020). I at this same time started to align myself slightly more right of center. She was VERY vocal of her opinions and I was too, but I always kept it to a minimum around her because our political agenda were our only non-commonality and I was aware of her tendency to assume everyone with a differing opinion was a facist/bigot/racist. For context, around the end of my junior year, I fell DEEPLY in love with her, so I made an effort not to get into arguments over political topics because, at least to me, our differing opinions did not impact our friendship at all. We got into ONE (1) (uno) (single) political discussion over some trivial sh*t and it turned very quickly into her screaming the typical go-to left wing insults (bigot, racist, etc) btw, all I said to start this was that i was experiencing sexual discrimination as a waiter when customers would get up and leave my table just to go and wait for a table with a female waitress. She never spoke to me again after that despite the almost 3 years of being best friends. It took way too long to get over her. We were two peas in a pod up until then. I just wish people on either side of the isle could respect each others opinions and stay friendly with each other. You must practice peace to find it.
