I am legitimately surprised you don't mention Noelle when she perfectly encapsulates your discussion Writing wise, she's a strong and beloved character and even in writing she dislikes her Geo Vision and wishes she got Anemo like Jean or Sucrose. Yet she works with it anyway to become a champion to Mondstadt even before she becomes a real Knight. And gameplay-wise, she emphasizes Geo characters need players to love and invest in them but it will usually be a worthwhile experience.

People who say Geo characters are weak, probably use the Spiral Abyss as their benchmark. Spiral Abyss prioritizes glass cannon builds where you try to maximize damage to the enemy, while ignoring your own defenses and healing. While Geo as an element prioritizes defense. And of course, one can't forget that at least 2 of the Geo 5-stars (Albedo and Chiori) are good damage supports (as long as enemies aren't hiding behind shields for Albedo - I am not sure if Chiori suffers from that). They're much more valuable than main damage-dealers, which are too numerous for their own good. And their ability to assist exploration is also very useful.

i agree that geo characters have some of the most distinct personalities and character stories, and it makes sense to help market them. i like many of the geo characters for who they are and not necessarily gameplay. heck, i saved forever for albedo to get him on a rerun since i loved his JP voice and his lore! i think geo mains are some of the most respectable people since they don't let "meta" define them, they just play what they enjoy c: even tho the element itself is kinda lackluster, they play their favorite characters and that's that. their mentality is what is most important to me when it comes to games, since at the end of the day, games are about enjoyment and fun.

It feels like they put a lot of love into Itto’s character, which makes me really happy :). He has so many little quirks and interests, and has a very fleshed out personality. I think it makes sense that he’s in a lot of events because they can actually do a lot with someone with a big personality.

Geo isn't bad they just hate us. WE NEED MORE GEO CHARACTERS WE NEED MORE MECHANICS WITH CONSTRUCTS. Every single element got weapons artifacts and even whole new reactions. Geo got furina😞.

Thank you that I’m not the only one who was insanely inspired by Chioris story quest..I just love how no matter what other people say she still pushed on her fashion sense I’m an editor but still….Im also a Geo main aka Navia..Great video by the way!

Navia and Chiori are my favorite women of the geo class Navia being the best writen character next to Furina and is one of the most lovable female characters trying to look for the positive in live, while for Chiori she was such a fresh personality from all the other happy girl types. Albedo and Itto I like them for their personality as well Itto is just a lovable goofball and makes almost any event story enjoyable (plus I feel like he always introduces the best events), Albedo the calm poetic type and 2.3 show off his best character writing, if it wasn't for Chiori being there and Cronical wish not staying for a second patch I would have pulled for Albedo since I enjoy him just like Chiori. Honestly I feel like your video got my thoughts on theses characters perfectly, Zhongli I like as a character I just don't like being dependent on his shield, reason why I want a C1 Chiori so I can play Navia with her and not have a 3rd geo user.

And to add insult to injury I just lost my 50/50 on Navia's rerun, so now I'm going to be scrounging for primos for the next few weeks to get her. I should have skipped Clorinde to save for Navia, but I thought I'd have enough time.

Why I pulled for Navia. GUN GO BOOM. I would pull for Nilou too if I had the primos but I'm saving for Mavuika, Capitano and Xilonens rerun. already at 75 and 42 pitty. probably will have over 200 fates until Mavuika drops.

I fall curse to loving the geo characters way too much. I have all of them besides Chiori but I will pull for her on her next banner. I really liked her character from her story quest and regret not pulling.

I literally love Geo, their designs are beautiful and their quests make them feel like actual characters. No joke when I say, as a Navia main, Navia and Itto are probably my favorite characters. Sure, Geo sucks in gameplay, but I love them.

Ngl the writing for the vast majority of geo characters is why I consider geo to be the best element. Sure, the element itself is pretty bad considering the way the combat system surrounding the elements work, but the amazing character writing for literally everyone is enough to make it my favorite :)

Guys, I think he likes Chiori. Don't know how I get that impression though... just a hunch.

Chiori has one of the weakest backstories. But her personality is still interesting. She just happened to find something she liked, was a dick to everyone and became successful by default, because aparently her and Ogura Mio are the only fashionists in all of Teyvat. Her story makes it look like having a strong personality is enough to get what you want and get away with doing whatever you want. Xinyan has a very similar story, but she had friends that helped with her self-confidence. She also had pretty bad luck when her only opportunity to shine (the music festival, the only place where her Rock is appreciated) was cancelled for multiple years. She is a character that helps others achieve their goals and waits patiently for her chance to come.

[warning, there's a huge wall of text] Decided to watch this video after our dialog in the "Inazuma's story" one. And i totally agree, geo characters are likable or at least you can neutral about them. Some people are annoyed by Itto, but that's understandable, because not everyone find loud goofy characters enjoyable. For me Itto is a "mood", i can't explain it otherwise, though i myself prefer more calm and serious characters. I started playing in 1.0, i got Ning from the novice banner right beside Noelle, didn't understand what she does, and kinda put both of them aside, though i liked their designs i still used Lisa for the most part. My first 5* was Klee (i skipped Venti), but i couldn't feel any dmg and didn't understand how reactions worked. Right around that time i decided to drop the game, but then i saw Zhongli's trailer and fell in love with his design. I knew nothing about him in the story, but he kicked the spear and dropped meteor - that was enough. So i returned to the game and started grinding. But my characters were weak and it was annoying. Then, as a strike of fate, i saw a video on yt where someone was flexing their Ning. "Hmmm, i have that character, let me try this out", and even though my dmg was no where near to the one in video, i liked how comfy her gameplay was (in comparison to Klee or Lisa). She was fast and didn't need reactions to win. So i decided to dedicate myself to building her, even though initial dmg was low af, i knew - the potential was there. Then i got my Zhongli, learned about Bennett and thus my Ning became a monster who carried me through the early, mid and even late game. First 36* were done with her on the team. And i fell in love with her performance. I skipped Albedo because i got Amos Bow from the standard and thought that i need an archer more than another geo unit. Though i really wanted the lift to troll friends in co-op. Got c1 Zhongli on his rerun, and wasted 25k primos on Homa for him (r2 Elegy is still a painful reminder). Albedo was next, yet again, but i lost 50/50 to Qiqi. And then Itto came. Somewhere there i decided that i'm a geo main. I MUST pull for every geo unit at this point. Itto and Redhorn sucked my savings dry.... Sadly, got only two copies of Gorou. Two months later i got Yunjin (straight to c4) and c2 Zhongli. Finally i could be useful in co-op and flex c2 Zhongli which was really rare at the time. C1 Itto came in a couple of months with the pain of not getting a single copy of Gorou. That dog just hated me! But i still loved him and his color scheme. I was also pleasantly surprised by how good Mond wings look on him. After getting c1 Itto, i finally started building Noelle. Because at this point i used two teams: Itto's and Ning's. And i needed a shielder for Itto, because Zhongli was busy protecting Ning's fragile ass. And i never knew that Noelle could really do dmg whenever Itto was on cooldowns, but their dmg wasn't that different (probably bc of my shitty Itto's build, because i struggled to find crit rate or crit dmg hats for 5 months or more). Anyway, i fell in love with how she could protect and save the whole party, so i was really enjoying playing with her. Then i started thinking about Albedo once again. On his 3rd rerun Zhongli said "fuck it, get your Albedo finally" and gave me not only guarantee for the Albedo, but also my first Jean after 3 years of playing! Zhongli always knows what i want. Always! (this was literally first time i lost 50/50 on his banner). And i got my Albedo on a guarantee, his signature 4* was waiting a whole year for him. C2 Itto also brought me my c6 Gorou, finally. Totally i wasted 220 wishes on c6 Gorou across all 3 Itto's banners, and got c6 Chongyun, c6 Kuki and c6 Faruzan before i could get my c6 Gorou. C3 Zhongli easily came later and then there was Navia. Honestly i don't enjoy her personality, she's too goody-goody, but surprisingly she really looks similar to my oc (from 2008) - Generale. When i saw her i was like "wtf, Hoyo reads my mind, or what?", so i had to pull her. Plus, she was geo, so it was a destiny. Luckily i used only 120 pulls for her and her weapon. Chiori was next (though i'm not a big fun of her color palette, i love her dolls and her style overall, she's also fun to play), and she came with Itto, so it was a difficult and stressful time. Got my c6 Diluc in the process, but weapon banner was merciful and even gave me almost free Redhorn. Guarantee Chiori, win on c3 Itto and win on c1 Chiori made me broke af. But it was worth it. I lost 50/50 on c1 Navia, i'll save the guarantee either for c4 Zhongli or new character Xilonen, because i need also to secure her signature and i have only 125 wishes left. So i need to be careful here. I'll try to get c2 Navia on her next rerun. C4 Itto and c4 Zhongli are also somewhere down the road, so it's better be prepared. I skipped many, and i mean many characters in the process. The only ones non-geo characters i pulled were Ganyu, Venti (curse you monolith), Eula, Ayato (c6ed Yunjin in the process), Kazuha (on rerun) and Baizhu. For various reasons. Some of these were early af, like Ayato came in 20 pulls only. He also still carries me in abyss when abyss says "no" to geo units. My highest dmg with Itto is 412k on his skill. My highest dmg with Zhongli - 232k with his ult, highest dmg on Ning - 70k charged and 95k skill, and highest dmg with Navia is 615k (probably will be higher now, because i upgraded her artifacts). I'm really proud of my characters, i really love geo because it's simple, fun and easy to understand element. Sorry for the wall of text, when i start talking about my experience with geo i just can't stop 😂

This is a running joke I have with a friend: there's not a single badly written geo character. The other elements, which have many more characters, have at least one that I personally think are badly written or severely neglected/underdeveloped by Hoyo. Geo, on the other hand, has less character to this day. So, as part of the running joke, we call it the "quality over quantity" element in terms of writing.

I say no to rewrite but i do admit it is getting under whelming how seeing how much dmg recent characters c2 do... xilonen 5 star geo support? if she is a damage buffer for geo i will get her to c6 too. i believe in mono geo and not that fake navia kit :l i like in one super charged elements that is why the i like big sword attackers that has big AoE slashes. also im into swords not guns... also i used to big a big fan of geo constructs and i still am but i like being a fast tanky attacker. and yes im paying overpriced just to make geo work

I didnt watch the vid. But i do think gei characters are generally likable However, i have to share my take on chiori's character. Bro, she is SO full of herself. One of her literal burst lines is “I am the cutting edge of fashion!” like girl, you aint shit, you dont need to yell who you are from the roof that doesnt make you cool. Everything about her is oh, im so cool, im so unique. Oh, my master said my way of holding sword isnt proper, so now i dual wield. Ok? And you want us to clap for you? Your normal attack still suck. Maybe if you did the proper way they wouldnt suck as much. And shes like, oh, i break the law sometimes technically cuz im friends with a police officer and I don't care about brand name, I do what I feel is right And it isnt that she's uncool cuz she does those things, its uncool cuz she tells us she does those things as if we're meant to be proud of her like her mother never was
