Perfection is an ideation of man. Nothing is perfect. A 10/10 would take away from the perfection that is joy in finding chicken eggs in a clear pasture with no other food in sight. Those eggs could be the birthplace of civilization. A good chef thinks about these things. Life is an extension of food, and food begets life. How can we make food resemble life in a way which affects those dining?

Scrambled eggs are meant to be a quick dish. Obviously Gordon could’ve chose to present a much more complex, flavorful, and tasty recipe, but that’s not the point. He’s not straining no eggs or adding in a lot of ingredients. Simple, quick, easy, and tasty is what Gordon was told to do and he delivered. I’m not spending 20 mins doing ONE step of making scrambled eggs. To compare these recipes is idiotic.

I feel like you haven't got the right consistency of those eggs because of the pan your using. Gordon specifically uses a saucepan. It allows the eggs to cook slower and the consistency is more wet than what your eggs look like. I assume, the same may go for the others too. But yeah, I think the consistency should be a little more wet.
@overseastom8 ай бұрын
Yeah, this guy didn't mix it well enough straight away, and it was too hot, so he has massive curds. If you follow Gordon's video where he burns the toast, the curds are tiny, and it's basically a pour able consistency at the end. Really silky. They're amazing, and I'm not even a huge fan of Gordon tbh, cos I hate his original abusive shows that just perpetuate toxic kitchen workplace culture.

If I am correct, Gordon´s scramble eggs come from Marco Pierre recipe. They are done in a sauce pan, really slow and silky smooth. There is no coagulation of the whites and stops the cooking with a tiny bit of cream. I believe this take was not accurate.

Fun fact: gordon's recipe is actually a very old method of making eggs that was prevelant during the 18th century. But instead of creme fraiche at the end, people used milk as they whisked the eggs in the pan. It was a great way for people during that time to prevent their eggs from sticking to a cast iron pan and not having the butter burned from the open flame on the hearth.

@dave32958 ай бұрын
No, Heston is also a chef. You can’t get 3 Michelin stars and have your restaurant be called the best in the world - which the Fat Duck was named in 2005 - without being a chef. He is one of the pioneers of molecular gastronomy and multi-sensory cooking that pushed the boundaries of cooking in the early 2000’s along with El Bulli. Not calling Heston a chef is not only disrespectful to him, but also to all other chefs who do not have the accolades he does.
