When people assume that oral history is always wrong or make believe it makes me wonder how much harder is it to write a lie why is written history taken at face value but oral history is never given a chance

I mean, let's not lie. Humans are ridiculous. We lie constantly. But that said, African oral history is a highly ritualised affair. As someone who studied the Xhosa language and the oral histories of the people, I'd defs say that African oral history is passed on in ways that make it 1000 times more reliable than any European oral history which is essentially just rumours.

Home team, you’re doing good brother. My only feedback is, be careful which feedback you should address and which you shouldn’t. I’m learning there is bias no matter who your source of reference is. Also, some are watching and trying to find ways to discredit your efforts because what you are providing is inconveniently true and not as romantic or political enough to fit their world. I’ve been going line by line with the Encyclopedias you recommended so far, and haven’t found any noteworthy discrepancies. Maybe the pronunciations of a culture or tribe here or there, but the facts are spot on. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Keep dropping knowledge!! 👍🏾

Grave robbers, thieves, and liars. Especially Hamas. He's covered up a lot of information and stolen and sold artifacts. We can see in modern time how people rewrite history to fit there narrative. Why should the Greek or Roman "writing" be viewed as unbiased when clearly as a people they were not. And the west has a tendency to favor using the Greek or Roman names for our towns and cities. Which further shows bias towards the truth. I am more interested in some of the " Islamic" accounts. But they weren't truthful at all time either. But knowledge of both would show maybe were the truth lies. We can never trust any non African source in my opinion. We put stuff on the walls on on papyrus for a reason. To clearly tell our story as we wanted it told. The early grave robbers wanted funding to further there activities, if they told people, hey we found this amazing black civilization that's was smarter than us. You think European people would have been interested? They keep the interest alive by keeping the lies alive. I mean there still trying to say the "pyramid" is a tomb when they know it's not. Many people who grew up around the area tell stories the experts don't want to believe. Cause it doesn't fit the fake narrative. So no we cannot trust what they wrote. And how and where were these so called Greek account found? And translated by who when? I never hear about that part of there story just that so and so Greek wrote this. Show me his writing, show me the book or stone or whatever they wrote on.

Egyptians did not think about race the way most modern people do. They barely even described peoples skin color when talking about foreigners they mostly cared about the clothes they wore, the language they spoke and the gods they worshiped. Also during the middle kingdom records show that the child of a foreign slave and an Egyptian was an Egyptian. So lots of people became Egyptian this way. There are no records about this for the Old Kingdom, but it may have been similar.

@@2apocalypsex The Egyptians themselves often used the formula, people of (description of their homeland) . So for example for Egyptians themselves the genitive construction rm.t ni km.t was often used. Renderer into english in a grammatically accurate way that means ; The humans that are of/from the place that is black. Or more colloquially The people of Egypt. Although sometimes the called themselves just the Humans or the rm.t. tA-mry (ta meri) which means; the humans of/from the land that is loved. Also sometimes a collective plural was used to km.tyw to mean Egyptians. So kind of like saying Africas to mean Africans .

@Tino it was called Kemet by the people who lived there, and it's borders were smaller for most of it's history but actually remarkably similar. Egypt comes from Αἴγυπτος or Aegyptos , which was the Greek name for Egypt. Kemet or Km.t means the black land or the black earth, referring to the color of the bike silt which distinguished it from the surrounding desert.

Thank you for this Knowledgable video. In Chancellor Williams, "The Destruction of African Civilization", he wrote that when the invaders took over Khemet, the Khemetian royalty retreated to Nubia and when they regrouped they would come back and retake their rulership. According to Dr. Williams this happened all thru the time of the invasions. Also I have read references that would question why the Nubians would champion Kemetic culture more so than the current occupying Khemetians would, they thought it very strange. The Khemetians also honored the Nubian deities Bes , Min and maybe others. All these things seem to say that there was an extremely close relationship between the Nubians and the Khemetians. I have read other books that said the Nubians came and fought AGAINST the Khemetians, but it was never in context, and sometimes they said the Nubians fought FOR the Khemetians. It would make sense if there were foreign rulers in Khemet at certain times and the deposed royal Khemetians which had retreated, had come back from Nubia to retake their rulership.

Hey HomeTeam, I just watched the video and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think you did an excellent job of clarifying things and citing sources. The one thing I'd say to keep in mind with future videos on Egypt, since you brought him up here, is to not read too much into Wallis E. Budge. He is incredibly outdated with a lot of things, but since his books are still widely available as pop-history, a lot of lay people read him and take him for granted. Overall, it was a very great video and I hope you keep up this level of quality!

I believe even though Heroditus and Diodorus give credence to what actual Kemet(Egypt) was like at their time there are also depictions by Manetho and Plutarch . I hope you will give insights on Pre-dynastic Egyptian culture such as the Barbadian ,Fayum and and Nabta Playa discoveries dating back to 7500 to 10,000 B.C. in Ta Seti and their great influences on the development of Egypt. One thing to keep in mind, when evaluating and comparing the accuracy of oral and written history you should also take into account sources we have today due to modern archaeology that were not available to those historians. We have a lot of artifacts of the pre-dynastic period that were still buried under the sand in the time of Diodorus _and_ the time of Ernest Wallace Budge and as far as I remember these seem to indicate more cultural continuity than sharp transition from the pre-dynastic to the early dynastic period, which would tend to support that whoever the people were who created the culture of Old Kingdom Egypt, they were probably the same people who had already been living in the Nile Valley for hundreds or thousands of years and not invaders or anyone else who had arrived recently.

"Arab" is not really a meaningful category. it's used by a lot of different people to refer to a lot of different things. The French call people from Morocco or Tunisia "Arabs" because many of them speak a dialect of Arabic, but they're mostly not descended from people from Arabia. language and ancestry are two completely different things. Plenty of people from America to Ireland to India speak English but are not English people or even descended from English people.

Thank you for clarifying. I think I’ve watched and rewatched every video you have shared. Two of the videos nagged at my gut and I couldn’t help but feel there were gaps. I believe this video is starting to bridge the gaps. Even though many historians have proven that the original inhabitants of Egypt were black, many people still believe that they were Caucasians. I appreciate the additional details in this current video addressing the issues. This video does offer more clarity and less gaps. Is it possible to do a timeline of the North African (Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia) peoples up to the 25th dynasty with maps? Or does anyone have such information? The goal is to understand who was where and at what time. PS. I’m looking forward to a videos on ethnicity. Thank you.

"Black" and "Caucasian" were not categories that existed or had any meaning in the time of the ancient Egyptians. You are looking at history through a prism that was invented by racists in order to justify enslaving your people.

One must remember that many languages existed due to the tower event. Did the children of Ham invent the language of the region? I would guess yes they did. Many used a form of Egyptian because of the trading system that involved much of the world. Once again, well-done HomeTeam, a humble search for knowledge will always lead to a better understanding.

@@gracegg5485 I think you misunderstood what I wrote. The trading system involved much of the known world. Many probably understood or even spoke Egyptian and those who did not would use interpreters. It is known that Israel up to the time of the Babylonian captivity also spoke an Egyptian dialect as a second language. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

@@karlshaner2453 no i understood you well, I was just questioning the first part of your comment. I am not at all aposed to the tower of Babel interpretation, i mean if you look at sudan the southrn parts of it, has roughly 60 langauges, which are just branches of paternal languages. but I do run into a few blocks when taking in this historical info through biblical lenses. What am saying is, the records we have of the ancients and what they documented of themselves, do not quite sit well with certain teachings coming out of the abrahmic traditions and history we observe today. Iam a Christian myself and some of this teaching is hard to reconcile with alot of what I grew up believing.

@@gracegg5485 Modern Christianity has little to do with Abraham and the children of Israel. One must remember that Jesus himself said that many would come in his name deceiving many. How many Christian denominations are there? To learn the truth one must consider the writings of the past but look to the present, for God is still working despite what many might say.

Once again thank you very much for the information is more to understand and to see where the scholars and collaborators and archaeologist wanted to be understood what they had in possession but the thing is once again this is from their eyes of seeing it and this is what was actually hidden from all descendants about Africa what the controversy was all about and what they want what they felt about what they were doing and how they will express it to have someone to comprehend what they're saying from their mind and through their eyes of what they saw but please keep the information coming like I said once again the information that you're giving is something that wasn't taught in school and it's amazing to realize the oppression of what is another individual culture and descendant information is kept from they will try to erase it so that they will never know it.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍✊✊✊✊✊✊✊.

As a Greek, I really appreciated how you carefully navigated through this topic. Nubian history is beautiful and people tend to take Ancient Greek texts as Gospel -when in actual fact there tends to be a lot of fiction in the narratives and stories provided by ancient greeks. My advice to today’s Africans discovering their ancestry via greek texts is to not digest it fully as the video details but to very simply get a feel - not much more than that. On a personal level I believe based on the Ancient Greek texts that the ancient nubians/Africans had a beautiful relationship of exchanging goods, language, culture and resources. Let no euro-centric or Afro-centric taint the healthy exchange of these two beautiful people. Really well presented video - enjoying the channel. Love from Greece xx
