@@TheArtofRepair the truth is that with android phones which use batteries of the same form factor, you can easily do battery swap and you don't have to go for aftermarket batteries, simply buy batteries from their OEM manufacturer (Nokia, oppo, realme, vivo, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Poco, Asus, Infinix) and swap their respective BMS, and that's it, you can get a fully functional android phone with more battery capacity. I swapped a Galaxy a32 battery into a Huawei p40 lite and the phone now has a 5000 mah battery and is discharging in a slow rate, of course I don't use fast charger, so I don't mind waiting for it to fully charge

Now when I got the old swollen battery out, it didn't have pixel, stamped on it. It had, for pixel 3XL on it. Like Nokia, Samsung,etc. Are stamped plainly, with their Logo. Replacing a battery, ain't no picnic. So ya don't want to experiment . Ya want to do it once and be done with it. But how do ya trust that if it claims, higher capacity, it truly is?

Well put, for the average joe and tech the myth "extend batteries dont exist" is good advice. These small incremental changes in power density over the years is nothing difficult to believe. The issue comes from a misinformed consumer going on amazon or ebay and picking out the highest rated 5,000mah GOLD batteries. There are reputable aftermarket battery companies who make extended batteries using samsung cells however they are also being knocked off nowadays. Sellers also increase mah ratings 5 to 10 mah above what legit extended capacity batteries offer so people buy those batteries, further worsening this situation.

It's all down to battery chemistry & newer technology. The phones electronics operate at a certain voltage, so long as the bettery is within the voltage range & is capable of delivering enough current than you can have unlimited capacity & it'll work fine. They are using newer technologies to store more energy into the battery. For example there are some cheap double AA batteries at the dollar store with only 800 mAh, but you can also find ones of the same size with 2,500 mAh. Issue is it's more profitable to lie & say your battery is super super good technology when in fact it's a cheap battery.

100% will remove water resistance. But so will all repair. Repair shops are not certifying bodies and cannot make claims without having OEM process and tools. If they do. Then maybe they can make that claim. Another thing to consider is most phones need a few days to weeks for adhesives to fully cure. Which is outside the range a client will wait for a device. On another note. Water resistance will fail over time anyway, even without opening the device. As the adhesive will age and degrade. I wouldn’t trust the water resistance of a device that’s old enough for a battery swap anyway 😅

Water resistance is a thin layer inside your iPhone that can be reapplied after replacement. It comes with most battery with a model that supports water resistance example iPhone 8 battery.

Ok fair enough. I did electronics. Just saying more capacity doesn't kill stuff. If the battery is the same voltage your device is still going to draw the same current (Amp) as it did before. It will just be able to draw that current for longer.

These stores I know mobile repair shops use as you need an ABN (Aus business number) to purchase from. They sell a premium high capacity battery (3000mAh instead of 2694mAh) for $40AUD. All the others I’ve seen aren’t branded, or have fake Apple branding.

Weird fact you will appreciate is that they use the same chips for 4-5 years for a lot of subsystems that don’t have any sort of marketing points. Makes diagnostics and repair nice, and really. Some systems don’t “need” changed. So always interesting to look at

This has nothing to do with the capactiy of the battery. This would have to do with the drain on the device, the battery is just providing the energy.

A battery replacement could be a good choice but the best choice is an extended capacity battery replacement from a good company .

So based on my own video, I showed examples of batteries that had the exact same cell size, and output voltage having a higher energy density. The batteries in the video are all from the largest phone OEM on the planet, and all have a mess of safety certs along with them. As well as the fact that the whole thing about battery chemistry is that its an ongoing science and is updated almost to the dot every few months with a slightly higher capacity. Even if its perfect of a percent, those add up over time. after 2-3 years, it can easily be 10-20%+ If you can fit higher energy density into the same space, while outputting the exact same voltage... you have the proof that it doesn't harm the device. As the device is just using the voltage or potential to complete its tasks. Having the same voltage here is key, because as long as its the same voltage, then it will not effect the circuit differently in any way. If thats the case.. and an electrical circuit will only ever use what it actually needs then by the logic in this comment, high capacity batteries exist, and its on everyone else to prove them wrong. I think I provided enough information to prove their viability and that at this point, the onus is on someone else to prove me wrong which would be the point of refuting my claims, not so much "doing the hard work for me" Am I wrong in my thinking? Also some information thats not in the video, you can also easily connect a DC power supply to a phones battery connectors, or main power rail and power it directly from the grid in essence, forever. this would emulate an infinite capacity battery.
