Exactly!! I feel TD is running out of topics and just attacking the Panthers for clicks at this point. I hope he has this same energy when we show out. Burns was not the best player on the defense, #1 was/is Brown and any smart person would have made the same move and moved on from Burns. He was about to become toxic and last year showed that. So elite and NEVER change the outcome of any game. BLOWING SMOKE!!

Dan Morgan didn’t get swindled because he still was able to leverage that 2nd rd pick (pick 39) to gain an extra 2nd rd pick for 2025 which we didn’t have. So it literally cancels each other out 😂

Ok, so if Burns continues to be a single digit sack guy, who is being swindled? I feel like we hold on to the past more than any fan base in the league. He’s gone, let it go. Don’t get upset about someone saying something about the trade, be mad at how bad we were last year. If they need any motivation, just watch this show.

With the money we saved by not signing Burns (9 sacks last year) we could afford Clowney and Wonnum (19 sacks combined last year). Plus we were able to select Jonathon Brooks and got a 2nd round pick next year. Say what you will but the Panthers got better with the Burns deal.

I want this guy to tell Dan Morgan he's a chump. Personally, I figured they traded him for expediency and bc they were willing to send him somewhere he was open to going since they had a good relationship with Burns.

Pay Brian Burns DPOY money or have cap space plus a 2nd rounder (which they turned into two)? I mean have fun paying a guy 30 million for 10 sacks and bad run defense but ill take 2 above average olineman and the picks.

Brian Burns is an average pass rusher he's not even top 10, we didn't get swindled. And it irritates me that he has this conception that we're gonna be a bad team, what are we basing this off of? A team that NO LONGER exists?? When we start rolling this year Tim better keep this same energy.

Derrick Brown had 5 less pressures than Brian Burns last year but Burns is considered elite and Brown a non pass rusher. I swear dude took the spider man nickname just to get overhyped.

They paid Burns $30M/yr. Safe to say they lost that trade. However, it would’ve been nice to get that 2025 2nd AND the 2025 2nd we ended up getting from the Rams when we moved back from 39. We would’ve been eating good next year.

I mean we potentially win this trade, we turned the burns trade into Jonathan brooks and and a 2nd for next year so we will see who we get with that but heck just Jonathan brooks alone could be a bigger impact on our team than burns and he’s only 20

No, trading down does not equate to getting two second round picks in the Brian Burns trade. If the Panthers got two 2’s and traded down, then the Panthers would have two 2nd round picks for next year.

@@christopherwright4344 we got a 2nd round this year that we turned into Jonathon Brooks and a 2nd next year. We lost our 2nd next year as part of the Bryce deal so we only have one 2nd next year.

@@TimJohnston911 yes, I understood that. I was trying to make the point that if the Panthers got two 2’s from the Giants AND did the trade down from 39, then Carolina could’ve put themselves in the position to have two 2’s in 2025 despite losing their original 2025 2 from the Bryce Young trade.

The Giants gave up less because Brian Burns did NOT accept “28-29M a year”. And he simply wasn’t worth the money he wanted. Brian Burns is a good player, he is not a great player. We turned that 2nd into Brooks and another 2 next year (plus the 5th’s involved in multiple trades). The Panthers lost all leverage thanks to Fitterer. It is that simple. Also, the Giants didn’t say they were willing to give up two-2s. They were speculating what the price would be. So assuming that’s what they would have actually paid is flawed. It’s more likely the Giants would have turned it down until they found out the price came down.

Burns is nothing more than an above average pass rusher. End of story. Would it have been cool to get 2 2s? Sure. End of the day we got a couple picks and we cleared 30 million in cap space by not signing him. That's a win.

Whoooooo caressssss. Burns is gone, we have a better Dline and it will show this season. Burns ain’t gonna do shit against our oline when we play them, and the bullshit you think about them not winning games this year is dumb. The south is wide open and we have a better core of players and a coach who nobody knows about. Panthers can win the south easy!
