Abuelo's awakening is hilarious imo, if you turn your background into a creature it affects itself. If you turn agent's toolkit into a creature all the counters affect it.

Anim Pakal is actually really cool in standard to stack with Adeline, while using Wedding Announcement and Virtue of Loyalty as anthems. Add in Baird for some extra tokens, and Regal Bunnycorn + Thousand Moons Smithy for some tall threats.

Aboolio was resurrected just in time for Goodburger 2. Now he can perform his famous songs Huatli's Paradise, Dreadmaawww here it goes and ....fantastic voyage.

Turn 3 Anim Pakal, turn 4 Halana and Alena, swing with a 4/5, create 3 attacking 1/1. Pretty nice add-up to Naya humans, IMO.

abuelo's awakening can be a combo piece. I play an edh deck thats centered around turning manarocks into creatures so you can untap them with other stuff. this is just another way to do exactly that.

Where are the other elder dinos? did they only give us a new ghalta but just ignore tetzenloc,zetalpa,and nezuhal?

Deadly dispute is probably a large part of how blood money managed to do so well. Both cards can be a draw 2 for 2 which is nuts

I think this is the best set in a long time and I am so so excited. I kinda wish they'd just ban sheoldred so it wouldn't even be a concern and if the format needs it just give it back. These cards look like so much fun.

I think it’s going to be fun in limited, but for standard, I don’t think there’s enough support for what the themes want to do. Either way, time to find the best artefact hate for sure.

This set is crazy. There are multiple commons and uncommons in this set that I would first pick in a draft over many of the rares, and many of those are still good lol

Bitter Triumph is basically Infernal Grasp - except the life payment is changed from 2 to 3, in exchange for being able to hit planeswalkers (plus the upside of being able to discard a card instead if you'd prefer). Is one extra life lost worth the ability to target planeswalkers? Hell yes it is. Technically it's a litttle more complex as if Triumph gets countered you still lose the life (as it's a cost), whereas you don't with Grasp (as that's part of the spell effect on resolution), but counters aside Triumph seems waaay better.

Abuelo’s awakening is amazing for me at least just because of speed. I mostly play bo1 on arena and aggro decks are absolutely everywhere. I’d love to reanimate portal to new phyrexia on turn 4, just so I have a boardwipe. Against mono red, they have to kill it so that’s a burn spell gone plus you just ate 3 creatures. I think that is primarily the home in b01 but in b03 you have better options against aggro so it’s not worth it

Anim Pakal, puts the tokens into play tapped and attacking, where as that Krenko only puts tokens into play when he attacks, but they aren't joining him in the attack, and since you've already attacked, unless you get 2nd attack phase they're just there to be sacrificed or block.

Anim Pakal is such an awesome card in my eyes. Fits so perfectly in my Ghalma Alchemy deck !

I don't know; reanimating Omniscience for 4 instead of 5 in historic could be a big deal (though of course, dies to any removal is bad news bears). But yeah, the best combo decks in historic can win on turn 3 or 4 with the right draw, so 5-mana-reanimate-Omniscience knocked it down a bit (I mean, you could still do it on turn 4 if you were doing a Jeskai shell, but basically have to have the right draw of reanimation spell + Omni in the bin + treasure + something to go off with after getting it out). Oh, Abuelo's Awakening also works with Beseech the Mirror; Final Parting has been good in the past for that deck due to putting Omni in the bin + getting Repair and Recharge into your hand + extra copies can be used with Omni to win; Beseech can let you search and cast the Abuelo's if you have the permanent to bargain to it. Misses out on the Entomb effect but in such a potentially fast format saving a mana on the reanimation spell, or being able to run a tutor that also casts the tutored card, is huge.

This set it awesome!! Few sleepers in this set too. I'm so excited for this.

Disappointed to only see Corpses of the Lost as an addition to Golgari Skeletal Swarming decks. It's a pain that the set went everywhere but ends up only scratching the surface of tribal synergies that it tries to highlight. We need more skellies payoffs, and not just the average 2/1 that reanimates itself on a death trigger or the unbearably expensive artifact that transforms into a huge beater that dies from any black or white boardwipe. WotC, why the false hope of exciting additions with no follow up [insert "why are we still here ? Just to suffer-" meme].

this set is neat but so incredibly dissapointing, both echoeing deeps and sunken citadel are extremely cool but etb tapped, thus, mark my words they will not see serious play ANYWHERE for any meaningful amount of time (except for maybe exactly amulet titan) so bc of that they are extremely dissapointing despite being the cards i was most excited fro from this set

I’m very disappointed with this set. There are hardly any dinosaurs in it this time around. Just a bunch of random cat people and clerics And artifacts that won’t ever see play because of no rotation to the format. I really don’t like where this is headed.
