The tale of "Melek not bowing to Adam" is a unique narrative exclusive to the Yezidis of Lalish, Iraq. Yezidis from Georgia, Armenia, and Syria, though unfamiliar with this story, express surprise, often asserting that Lalish Yezidis have undergone Islamization, introducing new religious concepts. As evidence, they point to the tradition of abstaining from alcohol, a practice observed by Yezidis in Islamic countries. In contrast, Yezidis in other regions freely consume alcohol, even during sacred occasions like "Rojie Mirya" or "Days of the Dead," when they visit graves, partake in meals, and indulge in alcoholic beverages. Subsequently, they leave food, fruits, and alcohol on tables for those in need, a gesture embraced during these commemorations. During "Rojie Mirya," it is customary to offer specially cooked beef, rice, fruits, and alcohol to three neighboring houses each day. The significance lies in dedicating these offerings to a recently departed relative, honoring their memory. For example, on the first day, the food is given in the name of a grandfather who passed away in the current year. The following day, the offerings may be dedicated to someone else, and on the last day, they are given in memory of every person who has passed away, ensuring a comprehensive remembrance of the departed. The dynamic nature of Yezidi religion, characterized by its oral tradition and classic Orthopraxis approach (emphasizing correct actions and behaviors over strict doctrinal beliefs), leads to diverse religious practices across different global regions. While influenced significantly by Islam, Yezidis in Iraq may manifest distinct religious practices compared to their counterparts in Caucasus, Europe or the United States. Orthopraxis, in this context, refers to a religious approach that places a strong emphasis on adhering to the correct conduct, rituals, and behaviors associated with the faith rather than focusing on a rigid set of doctrinal beliefs. In Yezidi tradition, the emphasis on correct actions is a defining feature, shaping the way individuals practice and express their religious devotion. Despite regional variations, all Yezidis uniformly reject the belief in Satan. Those from Georgia and Armenia assert that evil does not exist independently; rather, everything is a creation of God, with all evil coming from human sins. Furthermore, Yezidi theology lacks forgiveness for sins, with the understanding that individuals must reckon with the consequences after death. The only potential reprieve lies in offsetting one's transgressions by engaging in virtuous deeds throughout life.

I agree, that there have been a lot of injustice against the Jezidis in the name of Islam. I‘m also convinced that those genocides were absolute inacceptable viewed from a proper islamic view. I also understand that they don‘t see Iblis as Satan. But still. They are basically calling the Islamic narrative of the Quran wrong. Be realistic the Islamic Ummah will never accept that. I could also continue with the weird rules they have among eachother but this comment is not meant to be defamatory.

They're not Muslims or Abrahamics. Their myth related to Melek Taus does bare resemblance to Iblis in the Quran but that is where the comparison ends. Melek Taus is not a Jinn and Iblis is not a peacock angel. Yezidis are closer to Zoroastrianism, they believe in one unknowable God and seven angels which hypostatically emanate out of God. Similar cosmology to Zoroastrians except for that they don't seem to be dualistic. Melek Taus is the highest of those emanations, the closest to God in their cosmological hierarchy. They are a folk religion though too which means they are an oral tradition rather than one based off a scripture.

@@HastenforthedawmI agree but as a Muslim you can’t say that they don’t worship the Devil because we believe that there was 1 fallen Angel and it’s iblis they believe there was 1 fallen Angel too for the same reason but instead it’s a god for them and they have to look at what we do as blasphemy by considering their god a devil but both parties have good intentions and they don’t purposely worship a devil nor be blasphemous nevertheless I love yezidis they are great people❤️❤️ no difference inshalah hate the sin not the sinners.
@Hastenforthedawm
@Hastenforthedawm Жыл бұрын
@@Zeniit123 the similarity between Iblis and Melek Taus are scant. One is the top angel of God who worships God and is the intermediary between man and God (like Gabriel and Michael). The other is a Jinn who rebels against God and despises humanity and who's function is to tempt humans to transgress and sin against themselves. Melek Taus is a Peacock Angel, Iblis is a Jinn made of fire.

@@Hastenforthedawm yeah of course their roles and description are completely different but very similar origin I think you understand why us Muslims we believe that this fallen Angel that fell for the same reason is our devil hence why we regard their god as our devil and they regard what we do as blasphemy. They are worshipping ignorantly something other than the one who created them while they were nothing to be mentioned so technically yes they are worshipping the devil no matter what they are worshipping rn (or so called "God" to them) because they go by desires(traditions, ideology, "may fathers were worshipping them") and not rationality and brain Ps: if they really want to worship God alone here is Islam the book never changed and unlike every religion it has EVIDENCES that it is from the Creator.
