Eating salt is good for. That is, unless it is contaminated with micro-plastics and other pollutants. How can you get the salt your body needs while avoiding micro-plastics which can disrupt your hormone function or worse? This video explains it all.
1000's of years ago our oceans were pure and pristine. Salt from those oceans would be medicinal food for the human body. Currently, our oceans are polluted with micro-plastics, heavy metals and other products of our modern society. How can we get the pure, healthy salt from oceans past, and bypass the pollution? I address it all in this video.
Your body deserves real salt from a pristine ocean that is full of healthy minerals and devoid of contamination. 30% of current table salt comes from evaporated sea water from our current oceans. 30% of current table salt is exported from China. Don't trust your health the anonymous salt-shaker on the table. Make sure you are using the healthiest salt you can.

After the Olive oil health craze of (EVOO) began in the cooking shows, prices shot up. And the criminal element started mixing other oils in to pure olive oil-maybe always have-to the point it’s hard to know what is the good stuff. Even long established name brands were found to be diluted. I’m wondering if the popularity of Himalayan (Pink) salt is causing the same thing... how could a consumer tell? As a neocarnivore, I switched to Redmond 🇺🇸 There are many other salts, like Celtic sea salts. (Grayish) I guess you need to read the label for a manufacturing date of 100,000 years before packing. Oh, and don’t heat up olive oil. It’s better meant to be a finishing oil. Use Avocado, or Macadamia nut oil (with higher smoke points) if the budget allows. As for canola, and vegetable oils... you probably already know.

I don't think you fully understand your doctor's "wishes" or misunderstood. Maybe he is telling you that you should lower your sodium consumption because of a LONG list of reasons, maybe the iodine content isn't enough and you're getting close to a deficient amount and it may be better to switch to a salt that has more iodine (even though the "iodine in salt" is A WHOLE story in it's own). Who knows as every person is different, but I'm sure your Dr isn't against the redmond salt because he doesn't like it.

My salt is mined in Pakistan. I purchase it in very large chunks and smash it to fit in my salt mill. I also purchase mined pink and black salt from Peru. I use pink salt from Utah too. I do not buy evaporated ocean water salt. I store my food in glass with enameled steel lids. I used to can foods but since converting from Keto to Carnivore there is no need to can foods. I smoke and air dry my preserved meat. I do not wash my duck eggs untill just before frying them over easy or making "maynaze." Smoked air dried meat can stored for more than 1 year if kept dry.

Brother, I agree with you, but you have got to address iodine. I switched my family to Real Salt for years and gave my children and myself iodine deficiency. It does't have enough naturally occurring to satisfy our needs. My thyroid is absolutely trashed right now and I don't want to see this happen to anyone else. People have got to work in some kelp, seaweed, or some other good source of iodine. I'm carnivore now for autoimmune and GI diseases and it's very hard for me to get iodine in my diet. For many people in the US, iodized salt is their primary source of this vital mineral and they don't even know it. We've got an epidemic of thyroid disease in this country and we have to find another way to nourish people if we take away their enriched salt. I fear that the message of 'don't eat regular salt' will cause people to thoughtlessly switch without considering what they're giving up - like I did.

I had heard few years ago that table salt was linked to arteriosclerosis due to the salt causing microscopic cuts in the walls of arteries. Said table salt was like micro pieces of glass due to the way it is made. I kinda blew it off but am now rethinking that info as being plausible since micro plastics would possibly cause the same damage. It would act like micro shards of glass if entered into the blood stream. Hmmmm! Interesting and kinda scary. Gonna throw the table salt out. Haven’t been using it nearly as much the last few years as I’ve turned to sea salt and Pink Himalayan salt. Thnx for the video. Also, does anyone else get ridiculed by family and friends when u try to tell them how bad plastics are? Gosh! Hi Dr. Berry! Thanks for chatting about this topic. I listen to quite a few podcasts along with KZfaq channels like yours to learn while I am writing emails, etc and Adam Carolla was just recently discussing this on his show with his friend Vinnie Tortorich, who is a trainer out in Los Angeles and promotes an NSNG (no sugar, no grains) way of eating. He had also mentioned to use Redmonds as well. If you're taking topic suggestions, would you mind talking to us about gallstones, since low fat, carb-loaded eating (like my younger self used to do) can cause them? I found out that I had some about 3 years ago whilst undergoing a CT scan for another issue, but they haven't been hurting me, etc. Since I eat a keto diet now, follow your advice and I also like the info from Dr. Sandra Cabot in Australia about "loving your liver" and eating meat and certain veggies like cabbage to help it, I am assuming that the fat that we eat with keto will help with flushing the bile out, thus helping the stones not to grow as quickly as we lose weight? Or am I totally wrong on that? I have changed GP docs a couple of times because they wanted me to go right into surgery to get my asymptomatic gallbladder removed, mentioning that it was not a "necessary organ." Their nonchalant attitude about it freaked me out and thus started me on my keto journey after confirming through a HIDA scan that my EFR was 80%. So, if you have any advice on the topic, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all that you do! xoxo Christine in CO

A few months ago I stumbled across website to test table salt for microplastics, an easy DIY home test. Google removed the website, all links, etc. There were 5 easy steps. One was burning a small amount of table salt with a lighter in a pan and if it has microplastics in it you will smell the plastic burning. 2. was with a glass water, something about plastic floating and salt sinks. The other 3 tests I can't remember. Thank you to anyone that kept a copy of that list.

An iridologist, from our local Mennonite community told me about Redmonds salt 20+ years ago. At least I had one thing in my diet right. He also told me to give up sugar... I didn't listen on that one. 👍😊

Doctor B. All this information got me thinking in all the plastic in my life. But When I started to imagine the micro plastic going through my blood I remember that I already have plastic inside me, you see i have breast implants. Isn't that plastic? How does that affect me? I mean, I've never have any problem whit them. Or feel any difference...

Thanks for this very important info! You made me wonder about another issue that I think is not addressed enough-drinking from plastic containers. I have been drinking bottled water only-No tap water-for 20 years. The tap water here is horrible and I cannot drink it. Is it dangerous to be drinking bottled water? Should I just use a filtering system? Water is basically all I drink so I am concerned about what is best. 🙂

Yes switch to distilled water. Get a Megahome 4L water distiller and a timer to shut it off before the cycle ends. Read some reviews and you'll see what I'm talking about. If you have questions feel free to ask me. I got one recently after drinking bottled water for many years, best money I've ever spent

My doctor is pro keto/lchf and she told me I shouldn't be using the pink Himalayan salt more than once a week. Most people on keto promote using that kind of salt. I can't remember her exact words but she said it contains heavy metals and radioactive particles and should really be avoided (I'm not sure if the fact I have PCOS has anything to do with her suggesting me needing to avoid it or not). Would love to know your opinion on pink Himalayan salt. My iodine levels were low so she told me to switch to iodised salt and consume more seaweed (which is proving tricky on keto to find ways to include seaweeds in my meals).

Good quality rock salt, like real pink Himalayan or Redmond's real salt contain much less radiation and nano-plastics than in salt from evaporated ocean water.

@@KenDBerryMD Okay great thank you, I'll focus on the quality of my salt more then. I use Saxa brand iodised rock salt and it says on the packet "evaporated sea salt from the seas of Australia". So probably not good? Not many options in super markets here in Australia, I'll probably have to buy online.

There’s also dextrose in your iodized salt. Get rid of it and use Iodine drops or something.
